Oklahoma Sooners 2027 target among ESPN's best prospects
2027 four-star defensive tackle Jalen Brewster has caught the eye of the Oklahoma Sooners front office and coaching staff. They've been making a significant push for the Cedar Hill prospect and have had him on campus multiple times since issuing an offer to the North Texas prospect last August. He's already trending to be one of the top players at his position by the time the 2027 cycle finishes, and ESPN's Billy Tucker considers Brewster the No. 24 high school prospect in the nation regardless of recruiting class.
Possessing violent hands and excellent play strength, Brewster is a power-based pass rusher with the ability to close with surprising quickness for his size. Jalen Brewster is the No. 1 offensive tackle across the board, and the No. 6 player according to Rivals and the No. 7 player in the class according to 247Sports. Brewster already has 21 Power Four offers and is a five-star prospect in the Rivals database.
The Oklahoma Sooners have done a great job recruiting the defensive tackle position over the last several years, but Brewster could be the highest-rated prospect attracted to Oklahoma by head coach Todd Bates. Rivals currently gives the Sooners an edge in their recruiting prediction machine.
There's a long way to go in his recruitment, but the Sooners are in a great spot for one of the best players in the 2027 recruiting class.

Boogie Fland recovering from surgery, expected to be back for Florida basketball fall camp
Florida basketball point guard Boogie Fland is on track to return at full strength by the start of fall camp after undergoing sports hernia surgery, head coach Todd Golden announced at a booster event Thursday evening. Fland, a transfer from Arkansas, had the procedure on July 3 and has been held out of summer workouts over the last three weeks. Golden expects him to be back on the court when the fall semester begins in early September. "He'll be back when school starts," Golden said. "He could have played through it, but it made more sense to get it taken care of so he didn't have to worry about it during the season." Fland arrives in Gainesville after averaging 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 21 games last season with the Razorbacks. With Golden's reloaded backcourt, Fland joins Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee and Ohio transfer AJ Brown. The trio is expected to fill the void left by departing guards Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, Will Richard and Denzel Aberdeen, who transferred to Kentucky. With this new group, the Gators are aiming to replicate their 2024 magic, which included a 36-4 record, a 12-game win streak and a dramatic run through March Madness that ended with the program's third national championship. Is Caitlin Clark playing today? Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky
Caitlin Clark has been sidelined with a right groin injury since the final minute of the Indiana Fever's 85-77 July 15 win over Connecticut from TD Garden in Boston. Unfortunately, Fever fans won't be seeing Clark on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Sky (7-17). The Indy Star's Brian Haenchen reported on Saturday evening that Clark had officially been ruled out against Chicago. Including the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final, it's now the 14th game that Clark will have missed due to injury this season. On Thursday, the Indiana Fever released a statement on Clark's injury status and her progression. "Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered. "Clark will continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being. There is no timetable available for her return," the Fever's statement read. Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game on 36.7% field goal shooting and 27.9% 3-point accuracy. Fans may not get to see Chicago star forward Angel Reese either. Reese (back) is listed as questionable in the availability report released Saturday night. Chicago (7-17) ruled out Ariel Atkins (leg), Moriah Jefferson (leg) and Courtney Vandersloot (knee) for Sunday game's game with Hailey Van Lith (ankle) and Michaela Onyenwere (knee) also listed questionable. Sunday's Fever-Sky game was moved to the United Center earlier this year to accommodate tickets demand. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT on ABC.
