New adventure launched by Powys outdoor escape company
POWYS-based outdoor escape games business Beyond Breakout has launched a new adventure with a strong mid Wales connection.
The Llanidloes-based business, led by Lorna Morris and Jo Woodall, will test the skills of players with Operation Whiskerfall.
Their latest mission sends players on a thrilling spy quest through the streets of Llanidloes, blending mobile technology with real-world escape room challenges.
Designed for groups of all ages, Operation Whiskerfall is packed with clever puzzles, fun and a storyline full of intrigue and tail-twisting turns.
Players join the secret agency F.I.S.H or Feline Intelligence Security Headquarters to save top agent Philly Purry, who has vanished while investigating the strange goings on in mid Wales.
Using a code sent straight to their mobile phones, teams activate the game and work together to uncover clues, crack codes and claw their way to victory. This allows teams total flexibility and control over when they want to play.
'We wanted to create something fun, family-friendly and totally unique,' said Jo. 'Operation Whiskerfall combines the excitement of an escape room outdoors with the added magic of mobile interactivity and a healthy dose of feline flair.
'This game is a celebration of everything we love - storytelling, community, teamwork and, of course, cats' added Lorna Morris. 'It's a paws-itively unforgettable experience.'
Operation Whiskerfall is now live and available to book via the Beyond Breakout website - www.beyondbreakout.co.uk.
It's perfect for families, friends, tourists, or anyone looking for a fresh adventure in mid Wales.
'All our games are designed to bring people together through laughter and play,' said Lorna. 'We have permanent routes set up in Llanidloes, Newtown and recently added a route in Rhayader. We are adding more towns all the time.'

I scoured the internet for the cheapest dining room table & chair set – I bagged one for £71 on Temu & I'm impressed
A similar set will set you back more than £600 elsewhere COME DINE WITH ME COME DINE WITH ME I scoured the internet for the cheapest dining room table & chair set – I bagged one for £71 on Temu & I'm impressed Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ITS affordable fashion range and savvy gadgets you never knew you needed have amassed Temu a fanbase of millions. However, the China-based marketplace may not necessarily be your go-to when it comes to finding furniture on the cheap. The cash-savvy mum recently took to TikTok to show off the fabulous bargain buy - and fellow social media users were just as impressed. The rustic set came with a rectangular table and four chairs, each boasting a darker wooden finish and black metal elements. According to the only shopper, ''it was so easy to put up'' and the price, so far, hasn't reflected the high quality. read more on homes QUICK CLEAN The B&Q buy that banishes black mould in a bathroom without bleach or scrubbing ''No cave ins yet and my children think they're WWE wrestlers,'' she chuckled in the comments under the video. Temu's version comes in hundreds of pounds cheaper than similar furniture from other retailers, such as B&Q where a dining set will set you back an eye-watering £409. Meanwhile, Dunelm shoppers can expect to fork out an astronomical £ 399 - while store the Swedish giant IKEA charges around £659 for a similar version. Helen, who is still in the process of renovating her kitchen, said: ''So I bought a kitchen table set off Temu. ''I paid £71 for a table and four chairs. Cheapest one I found that I actually liked. What do we think? ''Kitchen still needs finishing but I'm impressed. I live in a council house with no storage & made a dream dressing table for £21… it's great for those with limited space ''It was so easy to put up as well and doesn't feel like it's going to cane in anytime soon.'' Raving about the cut-price marketplace, the delighted online shopper went on: ''Always only buy what I can afford and what I'm happy to return if it's no good. ''Just give it all a chance and I'm always pleasantly surprised.'' Why is Temu so cheap? TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices. The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace - essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element. The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture. According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US. The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs. Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers. It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe. By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn't marked up extra. While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands. 'Their furniture is actually decent' The video, posted under the username @helenalisonnn, has clearly impressed many, as it's racked up over 44k views in just two days. More than 180 people gave it a like, as others flooded to comments. One person said: ''That looks so aesthetically pleasing.'' Another chimed in: ''Love a bit of Temu shopping, don't expect the best. I'm pleasantly pleased when it arrives and it's better then I thought.'' A third wrote: ''Looks good. But that's the worry with temu because you don't know what to expect.'' ''Their furniture is actually decent,'' a fourth added.

Dumped Love Island star says DMs are flooded with celebs after leaving villa
Blu Chegini, who was dumped from the Love Island villa this month, says that some famous faces have slid into his DMs since leaving and accuses ITV of not showing his true personality. Dumped Love Island star Blu Chegini has revealed that his DM's are 'popping' since leaving the famous ITV2 villa, and there's even a few famous names in there. Talking with Mirror at the TRIC Awards in central London, 26-year-old Blu admitted, "It's been a bit mad since I left the villa, the DMs have been busy though, they're popping." He added, "There's been a few famous ones, but I better not say who." Despite being in the original line-up of islanders at the beginning of this series, Blu was dumped from the island earlier this month in a brutal recoupling which left him single. Before his departure, he was getting to know girls Alima and Shakira, who remain in the villa. Since returning home, Blu's Instagram has reached 22K followers - including the likes of former Love Island winners Jess Harding and Gabby Allen and Married At First Sight star Hannah Norburn. He has also signed to Neon Managment, the same PR company who manages stars such as Joey Essex and Lucinda Stratford. While there may be plenty of single girls hoping to catch London-based Blu's eye back in the UK, the reality star still has eyes for Mallorca. Admitting the premature departure was disappointing, Blu said he'd like another crack at the famous villa: 'Get me back in there, I'd definitely go back and show my personality more, I didn't get to do that. "I did show it in the villa but it wasn't aired in the episodes, so I'd like people to get to know me and see what I'm really about. I want ITV to fly me out for Casa Amor.' Describing his type as Poppy Harrison, who was only on the show for two days as she attempted to turn Remell's head at the Sleepover villa, Blu says the bombshell is exactly who he was waiting to enter the villa for himself. However, if the Construction Project Manager doesn't make it back to Mallorca before the end of the series, he's hoping for one of his fellow OG islanders to win the series. 'I want Tommy to win, I'm not sure who he'll be partnered with, but I'd like him to win.' Blu also weighed in on the villa drama after Toni and Emily recently came to blows, admitting he thinks Emily is a 'sweet girl' and doesn't know why there's been a war of words between the pair.

After performing on the Pyramid Stage in 2022, they returned to their stomping ground to perform to an eager crowd. However, during their live set, fans were heard to have shouted 'louder, louder'. The Mail Online has reported that other music nearby was drowning out the performance of Los Angeles-based siblings Haim had previously dropped several hints to fans that they would be performing at Worthy Farm in the weeks running up to Glastonbury. But despite the sound issues, the American rock band kept going with their performance. Writing on X - formerly known as Twitter -one fan gushed: "Haim were and are exceptional." American group 'confirm' secret Glastonbury set as they tease fans with big clue A second agreed: "HAIM's (not so) secret set at #Glastonbury was outstanding. Catch it on iPlayer if you missed it, it's so worth it." "The irony that the best TBAs Lewis Capaldi, Pulp & Haim all brilliant and could easily have headlined," noted a third user. While someone else wrote: "Haim back where they belong, Glasto." And a fifth added: "Only a matter of time before HAIM headline Glastonbury. Should have been this year. Such a fun band." "[Be]cause that was like the first time we came to Glastonbury, we got to play The Park Stage. It felt like a movie." She continued: "It was like, 'What is going on? How did we get here?' And also just like… you never forget the first time you step onto the farm. "And it's the most insane feeling, I think, that you'll ever have.
