Huawei, has announced a new partnership with the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis). The collaboration aims to launch a talent development program for young Emirati professionals.
The initiative introduces an eight-week training course. It includes four weeks of intensive training in Dubai and four weeks of specialized technical training at Huawei's advanced facilities in Shenzhen, China.
The program was revealed as a move to support the UAE's digital transformation goals. It focuses on leadership in the digital economy, industry innovation, and business growth strategies.
According to Huawei UAE Board Director Jacky Zhang, the program combines Huawei's global expertise in 5G, cloud computing, and AI with the UAE's digital ambitions.
Zhang stated, 'Through our partnership with Nafis, we're creating a transformative experience that equips Emirati talent to lead the region's tech future.'
Huawei reported that the program provides both local context and global exposure. This ensures participants develop strong competencies aligned with national objectives.
The training is designed to meet the evolving needs of the UAE's ICT sector. Participants will gain hands-on experience with advanced telecom technologies.
Key technical areas include: 5G network architecture and deployment
Cloud computing and AI applications
Additionally, the program offers Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP) certifications. These cover datacom core technology and big data analytics.
Huawei emphasized that this initiative represents a major investment in Emirati talent. It aims to qualify Emirati professionals for leadership roles in the competitive tech workforce.
The company also reported that the program helps bridge workforce supply-demand gaps. It supports long-term growth through a dynamic and skilled talent pipeline.
Ultimately, the collaboration strengthens ties between global tech leaders and local institutions. It contributes to the UAE's goal of becoming a global technology hub.

Job interviews were conducted on-site with qualified Emirati candidates, led by officials from the participating showcased their available job opportunities on the Nafis platform during the open career days, which were held in collaboration with local Human Resources Departments and Neighbourhood Councils across various emirates of the UAE, in addition to the Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, University of Dubai, and Fatima College of Health Abdulla Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary of National Talents at MoHRE, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to continue organising open career days, which enjoy a reputation for being highly credible and reliable among UAE citizens, employers, and companies. "This confidence stems from the fact that these events are held under direct supervision from MoHRE, which examines the nature of the job opportunities offered and the salaries, in addition to following up on employment processes after interviews to ensure participating companies are serious with their intent to hire Emiratis. We commend our partners for their efforts and support for the open career days, as well as their dedication to ensuring the events' success.''Al Ali noted that open career days offer a range of advantages, most notably providing job opportunities for UAE citizens and enabling them to have their employment interviews onsite. Additionally, they facilitate companies' compliance with Emiratisation targets by securing interviews with Emirati citizens seeking employment who possess the right skills and specialisations for the vacancies and job opportunities available. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation continues to identify suitable available jobs, in coordination with partners in the private sector, to secure employment interviews based on real opportunities, track interview results, review acceptance and employment rates, and address obstacles to ensure the best outcomes. The growing turnout from UAE citizens at the open career days also reflects their seriousness and dedication to enhancing their active participation in the sustainable development process and the national economy.

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, visited the 'Dubai Dates' exhibition organised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center. During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan toured several pavilions and issued directives sanctioning a grant of Dhs1 million for exhibition participants in recognition of their efforts to preserve and promote the UAE's rich cultural heritage. Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied during the tour by Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, and departmental directors from the Center. Sheikh Hamdan was updated on key facets of the festival, including various sections dedicated to promoting date palms and their cultural and social significance. He subsequently ordered the allocation of Dhs1 million as a grant to be distributed among the festival's participants. The generous gesture reflects Sheikh Hamdan's sustained support for the Center's mission and his commitment to empowering initiatives that support both the advancement of Emirati heritage and the community.
