Body found in Co Cork as gardaí appeal for information
The witness appeal is seeking information in relation to a male walking on the road between Banteer and Kanturk, Co Cork, on the evening of Friday, June 13th between the hours of 3.30pm and 9.00pm.
Road users who were travelling in the vicinity at the time who may have camera footage including dash cam are asked to make this available as investigations are ongoing.

Former Cavan County Council cathaoirleach admits theft from mental health charity
A former cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council has pleaded guilty to charges of theft from a charity. Seán McKiernan (43), with an address at Trinity Bungalow, Virginia Road, Bailieborough, Co Cavan, had been charged with the theft of €172,000 from Navan Mental Health Housing Association Ltd in 2019 and 2020. When arraigned on Thursday at Trim Circuit Court, he entered pleas of guilty to two charges: the theft of €5,270 from the charity on September 26th, 2019, and theft of €800 from the same organisation on April 6th, 2020. Accepting the pleas, Judge John Martin adjourned the case to October 21st and remanded McKiernan on continuing bail. 'A SHOCK AND A DISBELIEF' "In the community there is a shock and a disbelief. One can only imagine what the family are going through and I witnessed that pain in the hospital last night. "The scene in the hospital was just so, so sad. You had doctors and nurses running around trying to do their best to help these poor helpless people. It is something I will never, ever forget. The collision took place on Thursday, January 2 just before 7pm, close to Glentogher National School. PREVIOUS TRAGEDY Late last year, Donegal teen Tiernan Doherty-Kelly, 18 was killed when the car he was driving left the road near Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula at around 5am on the morning of Sunday, December 1. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene on the R244, known locally as the Mountain Road, at Ballinlough in Donegal. Second person dies following road crash in Carndonagh, Co Donegal
A second person has died following a road traffic collision in Carndonagh, Co Donegal on Wednesday evening. An Garda Síochána said the woman (20s) who was driving the vehicle died at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast on Thursday. A six-year-old girl was fatally injured in the crash on the R240 road at Carrowmore, Glentogher, which involved a car and a van. Gardaí and the emergency services were alerted to the crash shortly before 6.30pm. Two others people who were travelling in the vehicle remain in hospital. And here again now, a local family are having to face the terrible, terrible burden of losing a loved one...'
