To boost healthcare, 1,300 nursing officers appointed
The event was attended by BJP president J P Nadda, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Health Minister Pankaj Singh and other senior officials. CM Gupta, in her address, criticised the previous AAP government for the deteriorating health infrastructure in the capital.
'Delhi's healthcare was in such a poor state that there were only 0.42 hospital beds per 1,000 people,' she said.
She also highlighted the shortage of medical equipment, revealing that 38 hospitals had only six MRI machines and 12 CT scan machines. Gupta alleged corruption under the Mohalla Clinics initiative, claiming funds allocated for hospital construction went unused and 22 announced hospitals were never completed.

No malafide intention by CM
Bengaluru: Health MinisterDinesh Gundu Rao on Monday said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's statement linking Covid vaccine with the spate of heart attacks was not with any malafide intention. The CM had suggested that the heart attack deaths in Hassan district may be linked to the vaccination drive. He also claimed that the vaccines were 'hastily' approved. His statement drew sharp criticism from the BJP and the likes of Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. "The CM's intention was good but some people mistook it. He wanted to know about the side effects of Covid and its vaccine," Rao told reporters here. In a post on 'X', the CM had said, "It cannot be denied that the hasty approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine to the public could also be a reason for these deaths, as several studies worldwide have recently indicated that COVID vaccines could be a cause for the increasing number of heart attacks. Before BJP criticize us on this matter, they should ask their conscience." An expert committee tasked with investigating the recent cases of heart attack deaths in Karnataka said there is no association between premature cardiovascular disease in a patient and a prior history of Covid-19 infection or Covid vaccination. On the contrary, a report submitted by the panel said Covid-19 vaccination has been shown to be protective against cardiac events in the long term.

US Medical Groups Sue Health Secretary Over Covid-19 Vaccine Change
Washington: Several leading medical groups filed suit against US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday, accusing him of endangering public health with new Covid-19 vaccine recommendations. At the end of May, Kennedy announced via social media that federal authorities would no longer recommend Covid-19 vaccines for children and pregnant women, resulting in blowback from health experts. In the lawsuit, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American College of Physicians (ACP) and other leading medical groups are calling on the court to stop Kennedy's "unilateral, unscientific" directive and restore the Covid-19 vaccine to immunization schedules. "It is really unconscionable to take away a parent's ability and choice to protect their children through vaccination," said Tina Tan, a pediatrician and president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, one of the plaintiffs. Since taking office, Kennedy -- who spent decades spreading vaccine misinformation before becoming President Donald Trump's top health official -- has worked to overhaul American vaccination policies. In June, he fired all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and appointed his own panelists, under the banner of "Make America Healthy Again." Monday's complaint also highlighted the controversial new appointees to ACIP. "We are on a dangerous path," warned Susan Kressly of the AAP, denouncing what she described as misinformation spread by Kennedy while citing the concerns of her peers and parents of patients. "Pediatricians cannot stay silent as the system we rely on to support life-saving vaccines is chiseled away piece by piece, with Secretary Kennedy leading efforts to sow doubt and distrust in the American success story of vaccines," Kressly said. The problem isn't limited to parents and children, as misinformation about vaccines undermines a long-standing trust between doctor and patient. Increasingly, medical professionals are finding that adult patients are "hesitant to get their vaccines. They are not trusting the system anymore," said Jason Goldman, president of the ACP. The issue of vaccines extends beyond Covid-19 in the US. Johns Hopkins University released a count Monday finding the US has recorded its worst measles epidemic in more than 30 years, with 1,277 cases confirmed since the beginning of 2025, and illness recorded in 40 of 50 states. The total US figure is the highest since 1992. The joint complaint was filed in Massachusetts, a northeastern US state. Federal health officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment from AFP.

The management was served another notice demanding updates, but no response or remedial measures were reported," Gupta told TOI. Officials further maintained that the society's four overhead tanks lacked proper cleaning logs and maintenance records. "Even drinking-water tanks remain uncleaned, and no filtration measures are in place—a serious lapse in standard protocols," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo The discovery comes weeks after was found in water at another housing complex, Prateek Grand City, where sewage had contaminated supply lines affecting approximately 3,000 residents.
