Varanasi residents listen to ‘Mann Ki Baat', say PM Modi's thoughts inspire generations
While PM Modi's monthly radio program engages and enthuses the public across the country, many from his Lok Sabha constituency praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for various achievements, including Operation Sindoor, the cleaning up of Maoist-infested zones and more.
Varanasi residents described PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat as encouraging and inspiring. A couple of residents also spoke to IANS, sharing their experience of listening and watching the Mann Ki Baat.
They said that PM Modi's thoughts and ideas infuse energy in all generations, encouraging them to take steps and achieve more.
Sandeep Singh, a Kashi resident, praised India's 'Operation Sindoor' under PM Modi's leadership.
Councillor Shiddharth Sharma said that PM Modi always gives inspirational talks through Mann Ki Baat.
'In today's episode, he mentioned Operation Sindoor and all of us countrymen are proud of our Prime Minister. Due to his strategy, our army successfully destroyed the terrorist hideouts. Along with this, 'Vocal for Local' was also mentioned. We all pledge to use local products as much as possible,' he said.
Ganga Dhar Rai, another local, praised the government for the vast improvement and developmental works in Maoist-affected areas.
PM Modi's message for 'Vocal for Local' and also the call for countrymen's participation in the self-reliant India dream also found a strong connect among them.
Talking about people's resolve towards a self-reliant India, PM Modi pointed out, 'Few parents said that now we will buy only toys made in India for our children. Patriotism will start from childhood. Some families have pledged that we will spend our next vacation in some beautiful place in the country.'
'Many youngsters have taken a pledge to 'Wed in India', they will get married in the country itself. Someone has also said that whatever gift they give now, it will be made by the hands of an Indian craftsman," the Prime Minister noted.

'Vote theft claims': EC slams Rahul; says threats to officials deplorable
NEW DELHI: The (EC) on Friday said it prefers to ignore 's baseless allegations of "vote theft" and has asked all poll officials to continue working in an impartial and transparent manner, unfazed by his repeated threats and "deplorable" statements. He said neither Rahul nor Congress availed of options available under the law, such as appeals against wrongful inclusion or exclusion of electors by the ERO in the final roll or challenging an election by filing an election petition within the stipulated time (45 days after declaration of result). EC said that it had sent a mail to Rahul Gandhi on June 12 after he alleged irregularities in Maharashtra polls, in a newspaper article. He was asked to write to the EC directly or meet the panel, but he did not respond. Interestingly, none of the allegations made by Rahul in his article, or any other grievance of his, has been directly communicated to EC. "It is very strange and deplorable that he is making wild allegations and has now even started threatening EC and its staff," EC said. In the post on X, the commission underlined that while Rahul Gandhi has been attacking EC over alleged "vote theft" during the Lok Sabha poll in Karnataka, the fact is that the electoral roll was prepared by 31 district election officers, 419 electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant EROs and 58,834 booth level officers (BLOs), with the due involvement of booth level agents appointed by all political parties.

Passenger's big headload fell on others, led to stampede in Delhi: Vaishnaw
A BIG headload being carried by a passenger fell on others, causing the stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station on February 15 in which 18 people were killed, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Rajya Sabha Friday, citing a probe report. He said that a high-level inquiry committee constituted to examine the circumstances leading to the stampede has submitted its report. 'As per the findings of the report, an unfortunate incident on 15.02.25 happened on Foot Over Bridge (FOB)-3 stairs connecting Platform 14/15 at New Delhi Railway Station. On the day of the incident, sufficient crowd management protocols were in place to handle the overall volume of passengers at the station. There was a gradual increase of passenger density on the FOB after 20.15 hrs,' said Vaishnaw in a written reply to questions asked by Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman. Passengers were trying to board Prayagraj-bound trains for the Mahakumbh when the incident occurred. Sharing the findings of the probe report, Vaishnaw said, 'Many of the passengers were carrying big headloads affecting smooth movement on the FOB. There was a big headload falling from one of the passengers and the pressure was passed on to the stairs of PF 14/15 stairs resulting in the tripping of passengers on the stairs. This led to an incident at 20.48 hrs on FOB-3, which was limited to the stairs of FOB. Consequently, passengers fell on each other. In the incident, 18 people lost their lives and 15 others were injured.' In March this year, the Railway Minister had told the Lok Sabha that on the day of the stampede the total ticket sold was 49,000 – 13,000 more than the daily average tickets sold over the previous six months. Of the 18 people who died in the stampede, 11 were women and four children. Eyewitnesses had alleged that the stampede took place because of 'lack of crowd management' at a time when a large number of people were trying to board the Prayagraj-bound trains. Following the incident, five senior officers, including the Divisional Railway Manager of Delhi, were transferred. In his written reply on Friday, Vaishnaw said that several measures have been taken after the incident to handle heavy rush at the stations. A total of 73 stations have been identified where permanent holding areas will be created. Pilot projects have started at New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Ghaziabad stations. 'Two new designs of 12 metre wide (40 feet) and 6 metre wide (20 feet) standard FOB have been developed. These wide FOBs with ramps were very effective in crowd management during Mahakumbh. These new standard wide FOBs will be installed in all the stations. All major stations will have a senior officer as Station Director. All other departments will report to the Station Director. Station Director will get financial empowerment so that he can take on-the-spot decisions for improving the station,' the minister said.
