A fire department said a man was hit by a hay wagon in Witmer, Penn., on May 20
A witness had to run over 1,400 feet to get to a phone for help, the equivalent of four-and-a-half football fields
The injured man was taken to a hospital, authorities said
A 911 caller literally went the distance to get help for a man who was struck by a hay wagon in Pennsylvania, according to authorities.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 20, the Witmer Fire Protective Association said that responders were notified about a man who was run over by an older "Amish-style" wooden hay wagon with steel wheels.
According to the department, the wagon was located far away from the main road in middle of a field. As for its weight, officials said that unloaded, the wagon weighed around 3,000 lbs. — but that it would be about 14,000 lbs. fully loaded.
The person who witnessed the incident and contacted authorities wasn't with the injured male. Instead, 'they had to run over 1,400 feet away to get to a phone to call 911,' the Witmer Fire Protective Association stated in its news release, adding that length is the equivalent of about four-and-a-half football fields.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find the injured man lying down in the middle of the field, not trapped.
'Patient care was given, and the individual was transported to the closest hospital,' the Witmer Fire Protective Association said.
No further details were shared about the injured man and his current condition from the fire department's statement.
Witmer is located in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County. According to 2010 data from the U.S. Census Bureau, it has a population of 492.
The Witmer Fire Protective Association said it is one of four fire departments in in East Lampeter Township.
'Farm related incidents are not the most common calls we run, and as a matter of fact, most that do happen are not reported,' said the department. 'Our team of volunteers strive to learn about and respond to calls like this one to the best of our ability since they aren't so frequent.'
The fire department said no other details will be disclosed.

Bryan Kohberger's plea deal leaves these burning questions unanswered

Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty Wednesday to the premeditated slaughter of four University of Idaho undergrads — but there remain a slew of glaring loose ends. Prosecutors gave a step-by-step timeline of the 30-year-old killer's actions before, during, and after the pre-dawn attack in Moscow, Idaho, they failed to explain Kohberger's possible motive. But the 'why?' wasn't the only burning question that has tantalized followers of the case for two and a half years. Where is the knife? Kohberger purchased a KA-BAR military-style knife, sheath, and sharpener from Amazon in March, 2022 – months before he even moved to the area, prosecutors said. 8 Bryan Kohberger at his extradition hearing. Paul Martinka 8 Final photo of the victims, pictured just hours before their untimely deaths. Police recovered the knife sheath at the crime scene with his DNA on it, but the murder weapon itself was nowhere to be found. Cell phone tower records place Kohberger's phone near a rural village outside Moscow at around 4:45 a.m., roughly a half hour after the killings, which means he could have ditched it in any number of Idaho fields and pastures along the way. Did Kohberger know any of the victims, and why did he target them? Kohberger didn't break into a random house: Cell phone tower records placed Kohberger in the victims' neighborhood 23 times in the months before the murders, and security camera footage shows his car circling their block like a shark before finally moving in for the kill. Early reports claimed Kohberger had cyberstalked one of the victims and bombarded her with Instagram messages, but his lawyers later insisted he had no connection to the victims at all. So how did he know about Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin? The only hint prosecutors offered on Wednesday was suggesting Kohberger might not have entered the house intending to kill all four victims. 8 The house in Moscow, ID, where four University of Idaho students were knifed to death. Kevin C. Downs for NY Post 8 The four victims: Kaylee Goncalves, top left; Xana Kernodle, top right; Ethan Chapin, bottom left; and Madison Mogen, bottom right. Whose ID did Kohberger have hidden at his parents' house? In 2023, a police source told NewsNation investigators had found an ID 'connected to someone from the quadruple homicide' carefully hidden at Kohberger's parents' house. The report prompted frenzied speculation that Kohberger had kept a victim's ID as a souvenir. That now seems unlikely: A victim's ID would have been a major piece of physical evidence and would likely have come up in the courtroom. But the ID could have been any number of things: A fake ID for a potential escape off the grid, or even just the Amazon gift card prosecutors said he used to purchase the knife. One colorful theory suggests Kohberer had a Joker-style calling card to leave at the scenes of future murders. Whatever it was, we'll likely never know. Is Kohberger a psychopath? Kohberger's defense revealed that he had OCD and mild autism, but they said those traits has no bearing on the crimes he was accused of. 8 Judge Steven Hippler rejecting a motion to drop the death penalty. AP A jury trial could have involved psychological evaluations of Kohberger and evidence for what psychologists call 'dark tetrad' personality traits: Narcissism, sadism, Machiavellian manipulativeness, and, of course, psychopathy. 8 Bryan Kohberger appears for his July 2 plea hearing. AP 8 Two University of Idaho victims, Madison Mogen and Xana Kernodle. Instagram / @xanakernodle Why did Kohberger return to the scene of the crime? Cell phone tower records suggest Kohberger went back to his victim's neighborhood roughly five hours after the bloody deed. Was it to recover a piece of evidence, perhaps even the missing knife? Or just to admire his deadly handiwork? He certainly seemed to be proud of himself, as evidenced by a grinning, 'thumbs up' selfie he took when he got home.

Diddy Was Just Convicted of 2 Sex Crimes: How Much Time Will He Spend in Prison?

Sean "Diddy" Combs was found guilty of prostitution charges and acquitted on the most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking Thirty four witnesses testified during the weeks-long trial, including his ex-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Combs was accused of coercing women to participate in drug-fueled "freak off" parties and running a criminal enterprise over two decadesA Manhattan jury reached a verdict on Wednesday, July 2 finding that Sean "Diddy" Combs was guilty of prostitution charges. The music mogul was acquitted of the most serious charges - sex trafficking and racketeering - after a seven-week trial. Combs was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor and legal commentator, says Combs may not be given a lengthy sentence. 'He is likely going to get little to no time," he tells PEOPLE. "He may even get time served and prostitution has a 10 year maximum. But the fact that he was acquitted of the most serious counts, The government would not have brought this case had they thought they could only get prostitution.' "[This was] a huge overwhelming win by the defense and a tremendous loss for the prosecution," says Rahmani. "There is no other way to spin it. This is the most expensive prostitution trial in American history." Rahmani says Combs will most likely stay in jail pending a pre-sentence report and a report from U.S. probation but he expects the rapper's attorneys to ask for a bond to have him released immediately. "The judge may actually grant bond because he's been acquitted of the most serious counts," says Rahmani. "So I would expect them to make a renewed motion for bond. But even if that motion is denied, he's going to be out soon." Thirty-four witnesses testified during the weeks-long trial, including Combs' ex-girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura. During the trial, prosecutors argued that Combs coerced Ventura and another woman who testified under the pseudonym "Jane," to take part in drug-fueled marathon sex sessions called "freak off" parties or 'hotel nights" that sometimes lasted for days. Combs was also accused of running a criminal enterprise over two decades — with help from his staff and inner circle — that committed crimes including arson, bribery and kidnapping. Combs, she said, enlisted his 'close inner circle and a small army of personal staff, who made it their mission to meet the defendant's every desire, promote his power and protect his reputation at all costs,' according to the AP. His defense attorney argued that Combs, who did not testify, was innocent of all charges against him. 'Return him to his family, who have been waiting for him,' Marc Agnifilo said, per AP. During the trial, the jury was also shown the infamous video of Combs chasing, beating and kicking Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel lobby in 2016. She alleged the attack took place when she was trying to leave a Freak Off session. The seven-week trial had plenty of dramatic moments outside the explosive testimony. At one point, a woman yelled several profanities before Judge Arun Subramanian ordered her removed from the courtroom. "These motherf—ers are laughing at you," the woman yelled at Combs. She then said, "you're laughing at a black man's legacy" and "pull your gun out ninja, I dare you." Read the original article on People

IDF soldier killed, eight wounded in fighting across northern Gaza

Sgt. Michalovich was killed, and eight were wounded in a series of incidents in the Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City that began at around 9:00 a.m., according to Army Radio. The IDF announced the death of Sergeant (Sgt.) Yaniv Michalovitch in Gaza City on Wednesday. Michalovitch, 19, from Rehovot, served in the 98th Division, in the Armored Corps 82nd Battalion, in the 'Sa'ar Magolan' 7th Brigade. Sgt. Michalovich was killed, and eight were wounded in a series of incidents in the Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City that began at around 9:00 a.m., according to Army Radio. In the first incident, terrorists launched two RPG rockets at a building in which an Egoz unit was stationed. As a result of the strike, one soldier was moderately wounded and another was lightly wounded. Approximately 20 minutes later, another anti-tank missile was fired at the tank carrying the 7th Brigade. The tank was operating with the goal of locating the terrorists from the first incident. As a result of the missile strike on the tank, Sgt. Michalovitch was killed, and the other soldiers in the tank were wounded - two seriously and one moderately. Immediately following the two incidents, the IAF carried out several airstrikes to facilitate the evacuation of the wounded to a hospital and to attempt to kill the terrorists. The IDF is investigating whether the same terrorist cell that fired the two anti-tank missiles was struck. After the first two incidents, a Hamas sniper fired from a mosque at the Egoz troops, and one soldier was seriously wounded. Following this, a D-9 engineering vehicle hit an explosive device, wounding two soldiers, one moderately and one lightly. The wounded soldiers were all evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, and their families have been notified. The IDF announced the death of Sgt. Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld, who served in the IDF's 601st Combat Engineering Battalion under the 401st Brigade, on Sunday. He was killed after being hit by an anti-tank missile in Jabalya. The incident occurred while Rosenfeld and his battalion were investigating a report of there being an explosive device in a building. Last Wednesday, the military announced the death of seven soldiers from the IDF's Combat Engineering Corps in an incident where a Hamas terrorist attached an improvised explosive device to a Puma-style troop transport vehicle in Khan Yunis. Michalovitch marks the ninth soldier killed in Gaza within the past week. This is a developing story.
