2025 NFL draft: Big Blue fix multiple issues in Giants Wire mock v.3

USA Today28-01-2025
The New York Giants are hard at work coaching and scouting players at the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2025 East-West Shrine Game this week. They'll be getting a firsthand look at several of the country's top stars and elite prospects, giving them a leg up ahead of the 2025 NFL draft.
Before those games are played and rookie class stock shifts, those of us at Giants Wire decided to compile version three of our mock draft.
As usual, we used the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator for this exercise and left all settings on default. There were no trades, we controlled only the New York Giants and limited it to four rounds.
Here's how things played out:

Bills injury updates: Maxwell Hairston, Spencer Brown, Alec Anderson

The Buffalo Bills have a long injury list early on during their 2025 NFL training camp journey. Among that extensive group, we have a few updates as of late. The three updates on that trio can be found below: CB Maxwell Hairston (knee) Once feared a serious injury, the top rookie for the Bills is not going to miss extensive time. He's week-to-week but it might hurt his chances to be an opening day starter if he misses most of the preseason. During Buffalo's "Return of Blue and Red" practice, he was spotted on crutches: OL Spencer Brown (back) Brown has finally started to practice. He was taken off the physically unable to perform list (PUP) by the Bills. The right tackle has had back issues in the past he was being safe with: OL Alec Anderson (knee) Anderson had his knee scoped and is considered "week-to-week." Indianapolis Colts LB Zaire Franklin making training camp debut

Indianapolis Colts' linebacker Zaire Franklin was on the field and warming up prior to Saturday's training camp practice. Franklin has yet to practice during training camp up to this point as he continued to recover from offseason ankle surgery. Earlier in the week, Shane Steichen expressed his optimism that Franklin would be able to return fairly soon. It appears that time has now come. Now, there may still be a ramp-up period for Franklin. Just because he's warming up may not mean that he goes through team drills today. We will have to wait and see what the practice plan is. Franklin is coming off a career year in which he led the NFL in tackles, while also setting career highs in sacks and interceptions. He made his first Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All-Pro as well. Being paired with Jaylon Carlies, who brings a coverage element to the position as a former safety, and operating in Lou Anarumo's defensive back-heavy scheme, should all benefit Franklin, who could, as a result, see added opportunities near the line of scrimmage this season, which is where he's at his best.
