2026 Chevrolet Traverse Mid-Size SUV Part of GM Stop-Sale Order
The Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, and GMC Acadia—all 2026 models—are part of the stop-sale, which reportedly involves an undisclosed quality issue.
The stop-sale only involves 92 total GM SUVs, and the automaker expects to resolve the issue by the end of the week.
UPDATED 7/14/25, 6:55 p.m.: A GM spokesperson confirmed the stop-sale order, which only involves 92 total GM mid-size SUVs, including the 2026 Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave. While they didn't provide details about the "quality" issue, they said it's expected to be resolved by the end of the week.
We don't know the exact reason that General Motors has reportedly issued a stop-sale order for some of its three-row mid-size SUVs. However, according to a report by GM Authority, there's a quality-related problem that has led the automaker to pause the sale of certain 2026 Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, and GMC Acadia models.

While details are scarce, GMA claims that the stop-sale notice was part of a dealer bulletin (reference number N252517720) that was posted last week on July 7. Until the undisclosed quality issue is resolved, the vehicles cannot be delivered to customers, traded to other dealers, or used for demonstrations. All three GM models recently entered a new generation, which introduced new designs, powertrains, and technology. The trio is also built alongside each other at the Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
Car and Driver has reached out to a GM representative to confirm the stop-sale order. However, we didn't receive a response by the time of publication. We will update this story with additional information if we learn more.

Here's what I've found works the best to keep watch on your vehicle. John Carlsen/CNET Today's home security cameras are wireless with long-lasting batteries and multiple extra features like night vision. It's easy to post a model like the Blink Outdoor 4 above your garage door or in a similar spot where it can monitor your driveway and nearby street for years without needing a battery change. Person detection is especially useful on car-watching cams, because you can get notifications when someone is approaching your car if there aren't usually people nearby. An accompanying siren or two-way audio -- also common inclusions in our favorite security cams -- make it easier to scare away anyone who should be keeping their hands off. Finally, if your car is parked a distance from your home and a nearby security camera can't connect to Wi-Fi, there are alternatives like cellular/LTE cameras that don't need Wi-Fi to function. Look for a model that's weather-resistant and can ignore the passing of small animals, like this 50-foot driveway alarm (bonus points for its cute owl-like shape). Get a smart garage door Genie's smart garage offers numerous benefits including voice assistant support. Genie If your car is normally in a garage, it has extra protection against intruders, although some thieves will test garage doors to see if they can roll up or even use the spoofed garage door controller trick on older garages. Or, you might simply forget to close the garage at night. Our favorite fix for these concerns is a smart garage door that can send you alerts, enable remote controls, and close itself after a certain amount of it. Many of these models require replacing your garage door motor, but others are cheaper retrofits that work with existing garage doors. Adopt an aftermarket security system Add-ons like Ford's Perimeter Plus system can install security on cars that don't have it. Ford Not every car comes with pricey, built-in motion detection. However, you can add your own aftermarket security system with comparable benefits, no matter where your car is parked. One of the best examples is this Ford Perimeter Plus Vehicle Security System for $225, which includes a two-stage shock sensor with a progressive alarm and an option for an LED warning light kit. Look up your car's make and model, and you'll probably find similar options to fit it, if you don't mind paying more for targeted protection. Bonus tip: Don't park on the curb When you need to park a car outside, always try to keep it in your driveway. A car at the curb is a much more tempting target for a smash-and-grab or other hijinks. Insta360 now offers lens filters and a larger battery for its 360-degree action cam
It's been less than three months since Insta360 released its X5 360-degree action camera, but the company is already introducing new accessories and a major firmware update. Improvements include a new AdaptiveTone feature delivering 'better color and detail in both bright and dark areas' when filming with both lenses, and a larger battery you can swap in that boosts recording time to just under four hours. AdaptiveTone is the most compelling reason to install the free update. It addresses the challenges of adjusting and balancing exposure on dual lens cameras when both are potentially capturing scenes with different lighting conditions. The new feature records 'more comprehensive lighting information from the environment' for each lens, which the company says is then used in post-processing to adjust the exposure of footage and deliver more 'natural-looking results' based on the perspective, angle, or specific footage you choose to export. The update also makes the X5's PureVideo mode, designed to reduce the noise in footage captured in low-light conditions using AI and 'dynamic range optimization,' available when shooting with just a single lens. To better deal with bright lighting conditions where creators want to use slower shutter speeds to capture motion blur, Insta360 is also introducing three neutral density filters (ND16, ND32, and ND64 all priced at $59.99 each) that can be attached using the X5's user-replaceable lens system. The X5's battery life is getting a boost with Endurance Mode now available while shooting in 8K/30 fps mode to extend recording time to just under two hours. Dropping the camera's resolution to 5.7K/24 fps also increases the camera's runtime from 185 to 208 minutes, but if that's still not enough a new $49.99 2,800mAh Ultra Battery is about 17 percent larger than the X5's standard 2,400mAh power pack. Insta360 has even introduced a handful of upgrades designed for motorcyclists. Immersive Shake Stabilization will smooth out footage while still preserving a bit of natural shake to impart a feeling of speed, and the X5 can now automatically blur and obscure license plates. There's also a new $159.99 remote control accessory that can be strapped to a bike's handlebars or worn like a watch that features an LCD live preview screen, GPS data like speed and direction, and a built-in noise canceling microphone with a wind screen.
