Moore will be be facing one of his former teammates at Spurs in the Premiership this season
Alfie Dorrington knows his Spurs teammate Mikey Moore will come up to Rangers with no fear.

The talented teenager has joined the Ibrox side on-loan for the season.

Dorrington is a few years older than the 17-year-old but has seen the impact Moore has made coming through the Tottenham Hotspur ranks.

The England youth international had a host of options but has decided to sign up for Russell Martin's Ibrox revolution.
The on-loan Aberdeen defender said: 'He is very direct. He reminds me of a powerful runner with the ball. He has no fear.'
Moore sought Dorrington's advice before he moved north. He knew Dorrington did well at Aberdeen and ended up with a Scottish Cup winners medal.

The centre half has since returned for a second loan spell at Pittodrie.
They will need to wait until November before the first clash at Ibrox in November.

Dorrington confirmed: 'I have spoken to him. He is just excited to be honest.'
It will bring an interesting mix when Rangers and Aberdeen clash.
Dorrington explained: 'He didn't realise the rivalry, a bit like me when I came up.

Russell Martin machine guns Rangers flops in astonishing TV blast ego crew called out for reverting to type

The Ibrox boss was fuming at the performance of his side in the 1-1 draw at Motherwell Raging Russell Martin ripped into his Rangers players in an astonishing post match rant after being held by Motherwell on his Premiership dug-out debut. ‌ The irate Ibrox boss promised to weed out the slackers in his dressing room and ditch them as he called out the egos within the squad. ‌ Skipper James Tavernier headed the Light Blues into the lead but Rangers were outplayed by the hosts in the second half - and brutally honest Martin said the Steelmen deserved more than just Emmanuel Longelo's late equaliser. ‌ Martin's astonishing rant was labelled a machine gun by Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton on Sky Sports duty. The Gers boss refused to use an energy-sapping midweek Champions League trip to Athens as an excuse in a no holds barred Sky Sports post match interview. Martin fumed: 'They were braver than us, more aggressive than us. I said to the players, I've been really honest with them and I'll be really honest with you guys because it's what the supporters deserve, there's a default here at this football club and it's not one person's fault at all. ‌ 'The default is to revert to type which is when it's going really well everyone is all in, it's really good and when it's not going well you protect yourself a little bit and it's self preservation stuff. 'You can't play for this club and enjoy the really good times when it's going well and when it's tough say 'Oh, I'm not really sure'. ‌ 'We had too many on the pitch who wanted to do what they wanted to do. So if you are playing with real intensity and courage in your position that we coach you in then no problem but if you want to just jog around and do what you want to do then there's a big problem. 'Some of them have to drop their ego. I will look at us tactically and accept my responsibility in it. But today is not really tactical - it's a mentality problem and we got more than what we deserved, actually. 'We work out who really wants to be all in here and who doesn't. Lyall Cameron came on and did great because he wants to run really hard for the team. ‌ 'I said to some of the guys in there that Cyriel Dessers is the only one we've had a bid for and interest in and he comes on and runs so hard, and the same on Wednesday. 'Some of them need to have a look at him and set that example. There will be people left behind if they don't want to come because they need to really understand what playing for this football club takes and means - and not just when it's having a nice time. 'The European game speaks for itself. They find a way to get up for it. Hopefully it's down to a bit of information as well and today the lethargy and all that stuff is not acceptable. I'm surprised by it but more angry than surprised. 'I know what we're coming into and understand the fans' frustration. We are only one game in and we're a work in progress but we have to work out quickly who really wants to listen and who will really fight and run when the going gets tough but Europe isn't an excuse. 'We're going to have games after European games. We need some help, that's for sure, but also maximise what we have in the building. We haven't had a huge amount of games, some of them had their rest 90 minutes on Wednesday.'

Hearts injury news pre-Aberdeen: Four players out + five doubts for Scottish Premiership curtain-raiser

The opening weekend of the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season will be closed out by Hearts and Aberdeen at Tynecastle on Monday night - but there are injury concerns for both managers. The Jambos have been in stellar form under new manager Derek McInnes so far this summer, racking up four straight wins over lower league opposition in the Premier Sports Cup by scoring four goals in each game. The Dons will make the journey down to the capital from the North East having played fewer games than their opponents over the course of pre-season; just two in total. Last season's Scottish Cup winners lost 3-1 at home to EFL Championship side Ipswich Town last weekend, while Hearts thrashed newly-promoted Premier League outfit Sunderland 3-0 in Craig Gordon's testimonial match. Below is the latest injury news from both camps ahead of Monday's clash in Gorgie: 1 . Beni Baningime (Hearts): DOUBT Midfielder as "a bit more to do" on the comeback trail from a heavy knock to his knee. Will be back doing some light running over the weekend. | SNS Group Photo Sales 2 . Jamie McCart (Hearts): OUT Remains sidelined with a knee problem sustained earlier this month that doesn't require an operation. Still a while before the defender is back in contention | SNS Group Photo Sales 3 . Sivert Heltne Nilsen (Aberdeen): DOUBT Norwegian midfielder is touch and go after missing recent pre-season friendly due to an eye injury | SNS Group Photo Sales 4 . Calem Nieuwenhof (Hearts: DOUBT Should return to full training on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring issue picked up against Sunderland. Russell Martin's brutally honest Rangers reaction in full

Martin pulled no punches in his post-match interview on Sky Sports as he called out some of his players who wanted to "jog around and do what you want to do." 🗣️ 'When you just jog around, there's a big problem' 🗣️ 'Some of them have to drop their egos' 🗣️ Dessers 'only one we've had a bid for' & he works so hard A 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 interview as Russell Martin cites a 'mentality problem' at Rangers after their 1-1 draw ⬇️ — Sky Sports Scotland (@ScotlandSky) August 2, 2025 "We were lucky to get a point," he said, delivering his verdict on the result and performance. "Motherwell played great, we were nowhere near where we need to be and I'm extremely disappointed and hurt by that. "They were braver than us, they were more aggressive than us. "I have said to the players and been really honest with them and I'll be honest with you guys because it is what the supporters of this club deserve... "There is a default at this football club and it is not one person's fault at all, the default is to revert to type when it is going really well everyone is all in, it is really good. "When it is not going well you protect yourself a little bit and self-preservation stuff. "You can't play for this club and enjoy the really good moments and then when it gets tough, 'Oh I'm not sure'. "You have to be all in all the time. We had too many on the pitch today that wanted to do what they wanted to do. "If you are playing with real intensity and courage in the position that we coach you in, no problem. When you just want to jog around and do what you want to do, there's a big problem. "Some of them have to drop their ego. "I will look at us tactically and accept my responsibility in it but today is not really tactical, it's a mentality problem. "We got more than what we deserved, actually." Quizzed on how to fix the mentality matter, he added: "Well, we work out who really wants to be all in and who doesn't. Lyall Cameron comes in, did great because he listens and wants to run really hard for the team. "And I said to some of the guys in there, Cyriel is the only one we have actually had a bid for and interest in. And he comes on and he runs so hard, on Wednesday night and today. "Some of them need to have a look at him and set that example. "There will be people left behind, if they don't want to come, they will be left behind because they need to understand what playing for this football club will take and what it means and not just when it is having a nice time. "The European games speak for themselves; they find a way to get up for it. Hopefully, it is down to a bit of information as well and then today the lethargy and all that stuff is not acceptable. "I am surprised but I am more angry than surprised." Read more: He continued: "There is no excuse. I know what we are coming into and I understand the fan frustration. "We are only one game in and it is a work in progress but we need to work out quickly who really wants to listen, who will really fihgt, who will really run when the going gets tough. "But Europe is not an excuse, this club demands to play in Europe. We have qualified for that so we are going to be playing in Europe a lot and we are going to have games after European games a lot and we have to manage them much better than today." Touching on the possibility of the result leading to accelerated transfer business, he said: "We need some help for sure, I don't think that has changed also we need to maximise what we have in the building. "We haven't had a huge amount of games, some of them played thier first 90 minutes on Wednesday but we have to work out quickly who really wants to play proeprly in the way that we want to."
