Beloved items from Fountains Café in Bradford go on display
The items have been painstakingly cleaned and restored and are on display in the museum's Café Gallery.Paul and Mary Georgiou opened Fountains Coffee House and Grill in 1968 at Bradford's then newly developed John Street Market (later called the Oastler Shopping Centre).The fabric of the café remained largely unchanged since it opened, and the items on display including unique artwork, the original signage and café furniture all of which reflect the interior design trends of the day.
'Family legacy'
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Chris Georgiou who is the second generation of the family who worked in the cafe alongside his brother Michael, said: "We are delighted to see our family's legacy in Bradford being preserved for all at Bradford Industrial Museum. "We started Fountains Café when the open-air John Street Market was first redeveloped in the 1960s, so it's going to be exciting to see the next chapter of markets in the city centre with the new Darley Street Market and also the changes coming with the new City Village project starting."The original interior of the café was the ideal backdrop for filming, and the cafe was used to film scenes from Funny Cow with Maxine Peake and Alun Armstrong, as well as for the 2013 BBC mini-series The Great Train Robbery staring Jim Broadbent.Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's executive member for healthy people and places said: "Many Bradfordians will remember being taken to the Fountains Cafe as children, with many returning with their own families later in life."I'm pleased that this little slice of nostalgia has been preserved for future generation to enjoy."

Davina McCall says she 'rarely' spends time with partner in candid confession
Davina McCall and Michael Douglas have opened up about their relationship in a new episode of the Making The Cut podcast, admitting that they don't often have time alone Davina McCall has opened up about her life with partner Michael Douglas, admitting something that "rarely" occurs. During a fresh episode of the Making The Cut podcast, which Davina presents alongside Michael, the pair revealed they were recording their show on a Saturday — something they don't typically do. At the start of the programme, Michael disclosed they were actually without children that day, giving them the house entirely to themselves — a situation any hectic parent would surely envy. Davina and Michael have been an official item since 2019, but they've known each other a long time. He was Davina's hairstylist during her time on Big Brother. They went on to announce they'd moved in together in January 2023. Michael said: "It is Saturday; we never really record on a Saturday, but today, ladies and gentlemen, we are free. We have no kids. We have the house to ourselves." Adding her thoughts, Davina remarked: "Do you know what's funny — is how rarely that happens." As the episode continued, Michael admitted they actually have very "little" time together as a pair. Michael replied: "Like, it's unbelievable. You wouldn't believe just how little time we get together, you know, on our own, where we haven't got stuff to do, where, you know, it requires like not being but doing." It appears they intended to make the most of the day. Davina was heard agreeing with her partner, who added that this afternoon, they were "gonna be." This comes after reports that Davina felt "so happy to be back" at work following her recent brain tumour surgery. She shared these sentiments during an interview on BBC's The One Show, hosted by Alex Jones and Vernon Kay. In November, the presenter disclosed that a colloid cyst had been found during a health check. She subsequently underwent surgery and spent time in intensive care before returning home to recuperate. In February, Davina shared that she faced the "saddest" revelation while recovering from her operation. Speaking in a previous episode of the podcast, she mentioned that she'd experienced issues with her short-term memory. In fact, it would prove to be so significant that Davina even forgot she'd undergone surgery — and believed that she was scheduled for the operation the next day. Michael was instructed to ensure she didn't touch her scar and had to "reinforce reality." However, in a heart-wrenching confession, Davina described how she "spent the most amazing afternoon" with her dad, who had passed away "two years ago." She said: "I think the saddest one for me, because I had spent the most amazing afternoon with my dad, who died two years ago — but it was the most real experience I have ever had."

A This Morning guest confessed that he felt like he'd been hit by a bus after he had five litres of fat transferred to his arms and shoulders from his stomach to give him a six pack. Michael Allen and his wife Tanisha appeared on the ITV show on Friday to chat to hosts Olivia Attwood, 34, and Dermot O'Leary, 52, about the extreme measures he has gone to in a bid to get his dream body. The dad, who appeared as a case study in Olivia's documentary Price of Perfection, underwent a four-hour operation of 360 liposuction, which saw his stomach fat get transferred into his shoulders and arms. Michael, who paid £12,990 for the op, confessed: 'Waking up immediately afterwards, I felt like I'd been hit by a bus.' An intrigued Olivia asked: 'Was it worse than you expected? 'Nothing could prepare me for the pain when I woke up, not at all. It was everywhere [the pain] because it was fat transfer,' Michael confessed. Olivia pointed out that he couldn't put on his shoes, to which Michael added: 'I couldn't put socks on for three weeks!' Dermot asked if he had regretted his decision when he woke up and Michael told them: 'I wanted to see the results... 'I wanted to have a look down but I was too scared because I was in so much pain.' Michael, who said that he lost his six pack at around 25, works in aesthetics and had already tried 8-12 week stints at the gym. But he explained that it affected his work life as he had to wake up earlier and it could have jeopardised his performance while injecting his client's faces. Michael said: 'For me personally I always had a six pack until I was about 25. I think life gets busy, we had kids, we became busier. 'We started enjoying the finer things in life. We ate out, drank, dined, we indulged. 'I used to look in the mirror before getting into bed, grab my belly and go that's me now. Dermot asked if he had regretted his decision when he woke up and Michael told them: 'I wanted to see the results... 'I wanted to have a look down but I was too scared because I was in so much pain' 'I never thought about anything that could help me to the extent where I could have four hours of surgery and have a six pack again.' Although Michael now has a buff body, Tanisha confessed that she didn't mind him when he had more weight on his stomach. Tanisha told Dermot and Olivia: 'I quite liked the dad bod. 'I don't think it didn't suit him, but I understood the fact he wanted that six pack again.' Right at the end of the interview, Olivia wanted to know if she could have a sneak peek of his stomach. 'Last time I saw you, you were on a table with blood!' she said. As Michael joked: 'What camera has the best angle?!' he lifted up his white t-shirt. Dermot said: 'Wowzer' and Olivia added: 'They are some serious abs, he's a happy guy. 'That's a genuine smile.'
