Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 25: Salman Khan Film Struggles To Stay Afloat

NDTV25-04-2025
New Delhi:
Salman Khan's Sikandar is showing no signs of growth at the box office. On Day 25, the AR Murugadoss directorial collected ₹5 lakh through ticket windows, according to a report by Sacnilk.
With this, the action entertainer has so far earned a total of ₹110.3 crore in the domestic market. The worldwide collection of Sikandar stands at ₹184.82 crore, the report added.
Sikandar marks the first-ever on-screen pairing of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. In the film, Salman takes on the role of Sanjay Rajkot, a man who stands tall against corruption and fights for justice. Rashmika plays his wife, Saisri Rajkot.
The age gap between the lead pair - 31 years - sparked some chatter online. Salman addressed the comments head-on at the trailer launch event of Sikandar.
In his usual candid style, the superstar said, " Phir vo bolte hain 31 years ka difference hai heroine aur mujh mein, arre jab heroine ko problem nahi hai, heroine ke papa ko dikkat nahi hai, tumko kyun dikkat hai bhai? Inki shadi hogi, bachchi hongi, toh unke sath bhi kaam karenge. Mummy ki permission toh mil hi jayega. [Then they say there's a 31-year age gap between me and the heroine. But if the heroine has no problem, and even her father has no issue, why do you have a problem, brother?]"
Salman Khan added, "And when she (Rashmika) gets married and has a daughter and then she becomes a big star, then also we will work (together). We will get the mother (Rashmika)'s permission for sure.'
Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi and Prateik Smita Patil are also seen playing important roles in Sikandar. Released on March 30, the movie has been bankrolled by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Salman Khan Films.

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 5: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's film beats Aashiqui 2, crosses ₹150 crore worldwide

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 5: Ever since Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Bollywood debut film Saiyaara released, fans and critics have been comparing the film with Aashiqui 2. Interestingly, Aashiqui 2 is helmed by Mohit Suri, who is the director of Saiyaara as well. As per the latest update, Saiyaara, the YRF-backed film, has now surpassed the lifetime earnings of Aashiqui 2 worldwide. According to the early estimates of industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned ₹ 18.88 crore on day 5. While it shows a dip in earnings, it is too early to predict the business as these are live data from the website based on morning, afternoon and evening shows. The final figure will be out after the night shows. The show is also running late night shows owing to its demand. The total business made by Saiyaara so far is ₹ 126.13 crore in India. The film recently wrapped up its first weekend after massive business at the ticket window. Considering the weekdays, the film has held strong, maintaining steady footfalls in theatres. On Tuesday, Saiyaara saw about 46.39% occupancy. The occupancy was as follows: Delhi NCR and Mumbai continue to top the chart with highest number of shows and footfalls. Besides the metro cities, tier 2 and tier 3 cities such as Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh, among others also registered strong revenue. Meanwhile, at the international box office, Saiyaara has surpassed the lifetime business of Suri's Aashiqui 2. Aashiqui 2 starred Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. On Monday, Saiyaara raked in ₹ 151 crore as its Worldwide Collection. While its India Net Collection was ₹ 107.25 crore, its Overseas Collection was ₹ 23 crore on the same day. On the other hand, its India Gross Collection was ₹ 128 crore on day 4. The Ahaan Panday film is currently the fifth Hindi film to hit the ₹ 150 crore mark in 2025. However, the business made by the highest-grosser of this year is still far from Saiyaara's reach. So far, Saiyaara has also surpassed the lifetime collection of two Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 ( ₹ 144 crore), which released earlier this year. Recently, Shraddha Kapoor watched Saiyaara in theatres and wrote on Instagram, "Saiyaara se Aashiqui ho gayi hai mujhe (I've fallen in love with Saiyaara).' Thanking her, Ahaan wrote back: "Working under you on Rock On 2, being assigned to fix your piano, the serendipity of assisting on a rock music film, to getting to be a part of one… I remember you taking out the time to speak to me for a few seconds, and your words weighing heavy on me.'

Saiyaara Box Office Day 5: Ahaan Panday's Debut Beats Salman Khan's Sikandar, Earns Rs 130 Cr

Saiyaara collects Rs 131.19 crore in 5 days, beating Salman Khan's Sikandar and Akshay's Sky Force at the box office. Saiyaara box office collection day 5: The Saiyaara fever shows no signs of slowing down. Directed by Mohit Suri and starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has become an unstoppable force at the Indian box office. Released on Friday, the romantic drama has not only surpassed expectations but also smashed records typically reserved for big-budget star-led releases. According to Sacnilk, Saiyaara collected Rs 23.94 crore on its first Tuesday, taking the total to a whopping Rs 131.19 crore in just five days. This is particularly impressive as weekday collections tend to drop. Remarkably, Tuesday's earnings were even higher than its opening day, which stood at Rs 21.5 crore. The film recorded a 46.39% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday, indicating strong word-of-mouth and consistent footfalls. With this, Saiyaara has officially beaten the India lifetime box office collection of Salman Khan's Sikandar, which had earned Rs 110.1 crore. It also overtook Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, which had collected Rs 112.75 crore. The film is now on track to challenge Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which ended its run at Rs 153.55 crore. Saiyaara follows the love story of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan), an aspiring musician, and Vaani (Aneet), a reserved journalist. The film blends music, romance, and heartbreak in a style reminiscent of Mohit Suri's earlier hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain. One of the key drivers of the film's success has been its music, especially the title track sung by Faheem Abdullah, which has made it to Spotify's Global Top 50 charts. The film has also received endorsements from several Bollywood stars. Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Ranveer Singh praised Saiyaara on their social media handles, boosting its visibility. Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai also praised the film's success, saying, 'When a new star-cast film creates a wave at the box office, it sends us a clear message… no money spent on stars' whims—no extra spend on marketing stunts."
