The Fire Inside is based on the true story of Olympic gold medalist, Claressa 'T-Rex' Shields (Ryan Destiny), the first American woman to do so in boxing… twice. That's not a spoiler for the movie, because Claressa's Olympic triumph isn't the ultimate destination, it's just a stop along the way. The film movingly conveys Claressa's connection with her coach, Jason Crutchfield (Bryan Tyree Henry), and there's an understated bond between them. As much as Claressa has to fight her battles in the ring, she's got a lot of struggles in her daily life as well. Winning Olympic gold hasn't given Claressa the access to endorsements or lucrative deals that could pull her up to another level. All she ultimately has is her faith in herself and the support of the people closest to her.

Bob Marley: One Love is a music biopic that takes place late in the life of reggae superstar Bob Marley (Kingsley Ben-Adir). After Bob and his wife, Rita Marley (The Marvels actress Lashana Lynch), narrowly survive an assassination attempt in his native Jamaica, it sends him into a creative tailspin that threatens to derail his dreams.
Before Bob can resume his message of peace, he has to face his own inner demons and work out his issues with Rita. Bob Marley didn't have a lot of time in this world, but the film shows that he made the most of what he had and left a lasting legacy of music behind.

American Fiction casts The Batman Part Two's Jeffrey Wright as Dr. Thelonious 'Monk' Ellison, a college professor and a novelist whose books sell very poorly. Monk is also upset that another writer, Sinatra Golden (Issa Rae), has found massive success while seemingly pandering to Black stereotypes. So Monk writes his own novel as a satire of Golden's books before submitting it for publication.
Much to Monk's surprise and horror, his satire is embraced by the publisher and the general public. The satire of the piece goes unnoticed, as the book becomes so popular that it starts taking over Monk's life, even though he made sure that his real name wasn't listed as the author. But once the book is out and Hollywood comes knocking, it may be too late.

The irony of the premise of The Idea of You is that the romantic entanglement of Solène Marchand (Eileen's Anne Hathaway) with boy band lead singer Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine) would probably be more of a fantasy for Solène's daughter, Izzy (Ella Rubin), than for Solène herself. But one unplanned encounter between Solène and Hayes soon leads to several others.
There is an age gap between Solène and Hayes that does come up in the film, but the bigger issue between them is the celebrity gap. As long as Hayes is a world-famous musician, he and Solène may never be able to enjoy a normal romance without being hounded by the press.

In this remake of the popular 1989 movie starring Patrick Swayze, Jake Gyllenhaal portrays Elwood Dalton as a former UFC fighter who has fallen on some hard times. Road House gives Elwood a chance for redemption when Frankie (Jessica Williams) recruits him to be the bouncer at her bar, which shares its name with the title of the film.
Elwood's fighting skills go a long way towards keeping order at The Road House, much to the anger of a local mobster, Ben Brandt (Billy Magnussen). Elwood took care of Brandt's regular goons with ease, but he'll have a much harder time handling Knox, an enforcer for Brandt who is played by an actual UFC fighter, Conor McGregor.

The Other Zoey is not a remake of the Sandra Bullock rom-com While You Were Sleeping. But romantic comedy fans may notice some similarities between the two. Josephine Langford stars as Zoey Miller, a high school student who is definitely not the girlfriend of soccer star Zach MacLaren (Drew Starkey), whose girlfriend is also named Zoey (Maggie Thurmon).
When Zach suffers a head injury that gives him partial amnesia, he mistakes Zoey for his girlfriend, and his doctors warn her not to upset him with the truth. So Zoey carries on the deception and gets closer to Zach on a lavish vacation. At the same time, Zoey also feels attracted to Zach's cousin, Miles Maclaren (Archie Renaux), who shares many of her views about love and life. So, which guy does Zoey really want? You'll have to watch the film to find out.

Emma (The Flight Attendant's Kaley Cuoco) and Dave Brackett (David Oyelowo) are just about as happy as a couple could be in Prime Video's Role Play. The Bracketts have two children and a beautiful home in a New Jersey suburb. What they're lacking is the passion in the bedroom that they used to have before starting a family.
For their anniversary, Dave and Emma take a trip to New York and indulge in some role play. That turns out to be a mistake when Bob Kellerman (Bill Nighy) blows Emma's cover and exposes her as an international assassin. Now, Emma has to use her skills to protect her family and keep her marriage to Dave intact.

Amazon Studios' Totally Killer seems to welcome comparisons to Back to the Future, and it's one of the more unique blends of sci-fi, comedy, and horror. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's Kiernan Shipka stars as Jamie, a teenager who is very familiar with the story about how her mom, Pam (Julie Bowen), survived the Sweet Sixteen Killer 35 years ago. It's something that Jamie has heard about many times in her life.
When the Sweet Sixteen Killer returns in the present, Jamie finds herself transported back in time to 1987, when her much younger mother (Olivia Holt) was apparently one of the mean girls in school. Yet if Jamie can't protect Pam in the past then she may not have a future to go home to.

Spider-Man 4 Set Video Shows The Punisher's Vehicle of Choice
A new set video is out, and shows off what The Punisher will be driving around in the upcoming MCU movie. What happens in the Spider-Man 4 set video? The new set video comes from an action scene that is set to be filmed this week, and according to insider Daniel Richtman, will see Spider-Man and The Punisher fighting over a DODC transport convoy. The DODC, in Marvel Comics, stands for the United States Department of Damage Control, a subsidiary of S.H.I.E.L.D. that deals with enhanced battles. In the video, a large militarized truck can be seen being rolled onto the street from a tow truck. The scene itself comes from footage taken by Scottish fans, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently filming in Glasgow. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), with Jon Bernthal set to make his movie debut as Frank Castle/Punisher. The latter recently played the anti-hero again in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O'Connor, and Avi Arad. Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026 ahead of Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027), following Doomsday's delay. ‘Fantastic Four' Box Office In Freefall, Down 80% From Last Week
While Fantastic Four: First Steps opened quite strongly in its first weekend, $117 million domestically, with a total around $257 million worldwide so far, things are taking a turn for the worse. While Fantastic Four will still take its second weekend, the movie only grossed $11.7 million on Friday, which is down a massive 80% from the previous Friday during its launch weekend. That puts it on pace to fall short of estimates and it may not even break $40 million in its follow-up weekend. It's difficult to spin this. For comparison's sake, in the same month, Superman dropped 53% from its first weekend to its second. And while Fantastic Four may outpace other recent, rather poor MCU offerings by a bit, this is far from a roaring 'we're back' warcry, despite these big names and how much they will tie into the upcoming pair of Avengers movies. It's not quite clear what happened here. The film reviewed well among critics, an 86%, and really well among fans, a 92% with 10,000 scores in, one of Marvel's highest. But as we've seen that…doesn't quite matter. Thunderbolts, the previous MCU film, was almost an identically-reviewed hit, 88% and 93%, but it was a self-admitted miss by Marvel, and one of its lowest grossers. As a result, Fantastic Four may also be trending toward the bottom tier of overall earners in the MCU. It's a little surprising. You can make excuses for a lot of past MCU failures: Fantastic Four? It's unclear. These are big, big names in Marvel. The cast was great. The movie was liked by critics and fans. Is it just…fatigue? Was Superman a factor? Everyone who cared saw it opening weekend and word-of-mouth didn't matter? Marvel is not down and out. They have just this week started ramping up hype for 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, announcing cast members and roles and a first look at Tom Holland's new Spidey suit. No Way Home made almost $2 billion. This movie will not fail. But Fantastic Four? This is looking rather rough now. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Randy Pitchford says Borderlands 4 is intended to "bring new people in" to the series, and I can only hope it's better at that than the Borderlands movie and its $110 million loss
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Borderlands 4 is fast approaching, and Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford says "it's a perfect entry point" for anyone who's never played a game from the series before. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Pitchford says that the devs are aiming for Borderlands 4 to "take care of the people that have been with us but also bring new people in." By the time the new looter shooter releases, it'll have been almost six years to the day since Borderlands 3's launch, so it makes sense that Gearbox would want to cater for the players that never caught up with the series all those years ago. There's past evidence to support this idea, too. "We saw, for example, between Borderlands 2 and 3, that about a third of the people that played Borderlands 3 were new to the franchise," explains Pitchford. "So, we wanted to make sure that we made the game accessible to people that have never played a Borderlands game before, but also make it familiar." It's also worth keeping in mind the success – or rather, lack thereof – of last year's Borderlands movie adaptation. With a reported $115 million production budget and an extra $30 million on marketing and distribution (thanks, Variety), the worldwide box office revenue of around $33 million (via Box Office Mojo) meant it didn't even come close to breaking even, let alone making a profit. With an estimated loss of around $112 million, it's safe to say that the movie didn't exactly give the franchise a massive boost of new fans Gearbox might have been hoping for, so now it's on Borderlands 4 to do some heavy lifting. In the Rolling Stone interview, Pitchford reiterates that "if this is your first Borderlands, it's a perfect entry point," so it definitely sounds like Gearbox is keen to welcome new players with the latest entry. Given its release across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and even Switch 2, Borderlands 4 definitely seems well positioned to do that, but for now only time will tell how successful it is. Gearbox's Randy Pitchford celebrates Borderlands 4 going gold by explaining what that means: "The moment we're done is about as monumental as anything we experience in our lives."
