Yeida issues Letter of Intent to Dixon Tech for phone manufacturing unit

'Dixon will use the site to manufacture mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, lighting products, and white goods. The company is the fourth major player to receive an LoI in this EMC, which is part of the central government's EMC 2.0 scheme. Before Dixon, two other companies have recently received LOIs to set up units in the cluster. Ascent-K Circuit, a subsidiary of Amber Enterprises India Ltd, will set up a facility on 16 acres to make high-end printed circuit boards (PCBs). Aurionpro ToshiAutomatic Systems has been given five acres for making smart transit systems and industrial automation products,' said Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer of Yeida.
Yeida said that the Sector 10 EMC already got in-principle approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in April 2025 during its seventh project review committee meeting, with Havells India Ltd as the anchor unit across 50 acres.
According to the LoI issued on June 20, Singh told Dixon that their proposal has been approved with the rider that the final allotment will depend on clearance from the Invest UP Empowered Committee and compliance with state policies and rules.
'Land acquisition is underway and more provisional LoIs are being issued. With Dixon's entry, we hope the Sector 10 EMC will become a major electronics manufacturing hub in north India, creating many job opportunities and attracting more investment,' said Singh.
The Uttar Pradesh government and Yeida are also pushing forward with other major industrial developments in sectors near the airport.
'Amber Enterprises is set to receive 100 acres in Sector 8 for a separate electronics and home appliances unit. Together, Amber and Ascent-K Circuit are expected to invest about ₹ 4,000 crore in the region. These projects will fuel growth in this region, and create huge business opportunities,' said Singh.

U.P. targets 50% cut in road deaths by 2030: Transport commissioner
Uttar Pradesh aims to reduce road accident fatalities by 50% under its 'Vision 2030' roadmap, with regional inspectors (RIs) playing a crucial role, transport commissioner Brajesh Narain Singh said on Sunday at the National Regional Inspectors' Conference. RIs handle key responsibilities, driving tests, fitness certification, ATS operations, and enforcement, while also feeding into policy and procedural upgrades. (Sourced) Singh called for sustained effort from all levels of the transport department, describing the target as more than just an administrative commitment. He stated that the state was implementing the 5E strategy, Education, Enforcement, Engineering, Emergency, and Environment, in line with national road safety objectives. Singh highlighted the growing role of digital tools and platforms such as Sarthi, Vahan, e-Challan, iRAD (integrated road accident database), e-DAR (electronic detailed accident report), and VLTD (vehicle location tracking device). He added that AI-based chatbots and faceless services were transforming the sector. 'RIs are the bridge between advanced technology and on-ground enforcement,' he said. RIs handle key responsibilities, driving tests, fitness certification, ATS operations, and enforcement, while also feeding into policy and procedural upgrades. Over 250 automated driving testing centres (ADTCs), 75 driving training centres (DTCs), over 10 institutes of driving and traffic research (IDTRs), and 16 driving training and testing institutes (DTTIs) are under development across the state, with each district to have three ATS units. Singh urged RIs to evolve into data-driven, AI-capable professionals. 'Any misuse of authority or bias can damage the credibility of the entire system,' he warned.

Motihari set to get piped natural gas within a year
Motihari: The foundation for laying a medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline to supply piped natural gas (PNG) under Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited's (BPCL) city gas distribution project was inaugurated in Motihari on Sunday by MP and former Union minister Radha Mohan Singh. The Rs 2,000-crore project will bring clean and affordable fuel to thousands of homes. Regional manager (gas) of BPCL said nearly 50,000 households in Motihari would be connected to the PNG network within a year. Unlike liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which comes in cylinders, PNG is supplied directly through pipelines, offering an uninterrupted supply and enhanced safety due to its lower pressure and quick dissipation in case of leaks. "Until 2014, only 15,340km of gas pipelines had been laid in the country. In the past 10 years, this has grown to around 25,000km and another 10,000km is under construction," Singh said. He credited the Narendra Modi-led central govt for this expansion and added that gas pipeline development offers an economical and eco-friendly transport solution. The petroleum ministry has authorised BPCL to execute city gas distribution in East and West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Deoria districts in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. A steel pipeline is being laid from Gorakhpur to Bettiah and Raxaul, via Deoria, Siwan and Gopalganj. Once completed, natural gas will benefit not only households but also hotels, restaurants and small industries, reducing monthly fuel expenses and eliminating the need for cylinder refills.

Somya Garg, the Gurugram-based CEO and founder of Talk & Target, shared a screenshot of the mail written by the employee named Kritika Singh, who is a Senior Copywriter at the firm.
