Revealed: What Hulk Hogan thought of the UK... and Trump - as WWE icon dies aged 71
The WWE icon also revealed he was a regular visitor and a 'HUGE fan' of the UK.
Hogan also revealed he was a fan of Donald Trump in the early days of his political career.
His thoughts come from an interview the wrestling legend did in 2015 - in a 60 seconds interview ahead of a tour of the UK.
MailOnline dug it out amid the news of his death aged 71 after it was announced Hogan had passed away at his Clearwater, Florida home.
Medics were dispatched to his home early Thursday morning. Operators stated the call at 9.51am was in relation to a 'cardiac arrest.'
Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, was one of the biggest names in wrestling in the 1980s and was one of the driving forces behind the WWE's rise to become an international brand.
Hogan is survived by his third wife Sky, who he wed in 2023, children Brooke, 37, and Nick, 34, who he shared with first wife Linda Claridge, and two grandchildren.
Hogan was interviewed ahead of a tour of the UK in October 2015. Asked about why he was visiting Britain, the wrestler replied 'I need to get back to see all my UK Hulkamaniacs.
He added: 'I was advertised with the WWE and then I never came back for the tour, so I'm really excited to see all the fans that were waiting to see me.
'There's going to be an autograph, there's gonna be an autograph session, there's gonna be photo ops so we can get photos together, and then I'm gonna have a question-and-answer session - kind of like, 'Hulk Hogan Uncensored'.
He was asked about whether he was a fan of the UK ahead of his visit and revealed he had been a regular visitor over the years.
Hogan also praised his British fans, saying they were some of the 'craziest' in Europe and said they were even more intense than his fans in the US.
He told Metro: 'I'm a HUGE fan of the UK. I've had many great matches there. I've been coming to the UK off and on for about 25 years and the UK Hulkamaniacs are without a doubt the wildest and craziest over in Europe.
'Whenever I was in the UK I always knew I was gonna have a good match because the fans were so electric, their energy transferred into the ring.
'In the United States we got a coupla hotbeds where the fans are really crazy: Madison Square Garden, Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Milwaukee, The British fans are like that everywhere.
'Everywhere I go, the British fans are up on their seats. Whenever I have a match they never sit down and they're just really excited to see me, like it's the first time they've ever seen me. So they are more intense, the British fans are much more intense.
Hogan also offered some advice to young British fans who were interested in taking up wrestling themselves.
He said: 'First things first, get your education of course.
'Then if you're going to get into wrestling go to a professional trainer somewhere like the WWE performance centre or something comparable in the UK.
'Because you can get hurt very easily in the ring - safety is the number one priority. Make sure you get in the best shape you can get in before you get into the ring.'
Last year Hulk Hogan became a celebrity endorser for Donald Trump's presidential campaign in the US.
In an interview with Fox News, he ripped off his shirt to unveil another T-shirt with 'Trumpmania' written on it.
In November last year he hinted that there may be a future spot for him in the Trump administration.
However at the time of the interview, Donald Trump was still just a primary candidate and had not even become leader of the Republican Party.
Hogan was asked about Trump and who he wanted as US President for the 2016 election.
He said: 'I'm not sure yet. Trump's got some momentum. I know we can't have another Obama clone otherwise the party will be over.
'I'm gonna kind of wait a little while a while on this one before I make a decision.
'Trump has some interesting options, he just wants to blow everything up and start over and fix everything, which kind of seems like the better choice right now but I don't know if that's feasible.'
The wrestling star also shared some of his career highlights.
He said: 'Those are easy. The highlights of my wrestling career were the night I beat The Sheikh at Madison Square Garden, wrestling Andre the Giant at Shea Stadium and Wrestlemania XIX, getting to really beat Vince McMahon at WrestleMania XIX - and also this last time I came back to the WWE.
'The huge reception the fans gave me this last round with the WWE was quite amazing.'

Rashford, 27, helped Barca to a 3-1 victory in a friendly in Japan against local team Vissel Kobe. We recently revealed how Rashford has has rekindled his relationship with former fiancée Lucia Loi. She was with him when he signed for FC Barcelona. The Three Lions ace, 27, and childhood sweetheart Lucia, 26, were together during a photoshoot before he was unveiled as the Catalan giants' latest signing at the Camp Nou stadium. She took his photo, then moved behind him to take another and seemingly checked his shirt before the Man United exile posed beside a traditional red British phone box. Rashford was later seen emerging from the kiosk in a post on FC Barcelona's social media, captioned: 'Hello? Barca? For sure, I'm coming.' The Sun understands that Rashford has asked calming influence Lucia, who works in PR, to help him settle in to life in Spain so he can focus on his football. But they were not seen together until they were unwittingly snapped preparing for his phone box stunt. A source said the pair have stayed close, despite their 2022 engagement fizzling out, and have grown close again of late.

Top WWE SummerSlam match at risk with top star 'blocked from entering US'
A major WWE match announced for SummerSlam 2025 is in serious jeopardy after a top superstar wasn't allowed to travel back to the United States. On the first night of the August 2 and 3 double header, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul are set to face Randy Orton and Grammy Award-winning singer Jelly Roll in a tag team match. McIntyre, known as the Scottish Warrior, has been back in the UK for a friend's wedding in England over the weekend, but he's now claimed he was stopped from boarding his flight back to the US where he has lived for a number of years. 'There's now a good chance I don't make #SummerSlam,' he captioned a video on X as he talking into his phone camera from a field. 'It's quite a week I've had. You wanna know how it's been capped off? i can't get back into America, They wouldn't let me board my flight,' he said in the video. 'I'm in England still, at my buddy's wedding – what a wedding it was. Planning to go back, train for SummerSlam, but no, no, no, no, I got blocked. **Warning – the below video includes strong language** 'Wife and I walked up to the gate, trying to check in, always goes perfectly fine. Not this time.' McIntyre noted that there was an issue with his documentation, despite never having a problem any of the other times he's been travelling. He continued: ''Drew, you don't have your US passport. I know who you are. I know you've lived there for a long time, I know you're showing me pictures of your US passport, and your global entry. ''I know exactly who you are, your property and the likes. But no, we can't let you in the country buddy. 'So my wife and I panic, we say we've got a sick animal at home, we're good people, we care about our animals, we care about people. In the end, his wife travelled back alone 'against her will' to see their pet cat, while McIntyre had to turn around and leave the airport. Ever the professional, the former world champion used the real life incident to continue his on-screen feud with Jelly Roll. 'Here I am. So what happened, what changed this trip? Jelly Roll. You know somebody, got some connections? You've got your 15 minutes of fame right now, can get away with some stuff? You're hot, soon you will not be, so you're getting it in when you can,' he quipped. 'You realised when I took off my shirt on SmackDown, you went , 'Oh my God! All that aura, I'm screwed!' So you screw up my training for SummerSlam week. More Trending 'Why am I in a field? I don't know what I'm in a field but I can tell you one thing! When this is all over, I'm gonna get back, and I'm gonna drop you Jelly Roll. 'I'm gonna make you pay. And eventually, you're gonna gain all that weight back and you're gonna look like one of these f***ers.' It remains to be seen whether McIntyre will make it back by the the weekend, or if a replacement will need to be found for the match.
