Mix 3 teaspoons of onion juice and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.
Apply this mixture evenly to your hair and scalp, covering the entire area.
Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse out completely with a mild shampoo.
This may help eliminate any lingering onion odor and clean your hair.
Why you should use onion juice for hair
Use onion juice as a home remedy for many problems related to hair and scalp. As per reports onion juice has various benefits for your hair:
Promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss
Restoring shine and luster to hair
Preventing premature graying
Treating dandruff and scalp infections
Soothing an inflamed, dry, or itchy scalp
Addressing thinning, dry, or brittle hair
Potentially helping with alopecia
Points you should know before using onion juice
According to reports, if you're allergic to onions, it's best to avoid using onion juice.
Onion juice can cause skin irritation, such as redness and itching, especially if the mixture is very strong. To minimise this risk, you can mix onion juice with soothing ingredients like aloe vera or coconut oil.
Onion juice, however, is not a treatment for conditions including alopecia or baldness, which require medical treatment or a hair transplant. Aspirin is one of many treatments that can increase skin sensitivities, so patch testing or speaking with a doctor before putting onion juice on your skin would be prudent.

Can onion juice help with hair loss?
Onion juice may help with hair loss due to its high sulfur content, which is essential for growing strong hair. Sulfur-rich proteins like keratin support hair growth, and onion juice can provide an extra boost of sulfur to promote thick and healthy hair.
The sulfur present in onions may also encourage collagen production, which helps develop healthy skin cells, and possibly encourage hair growth. Also, onions help improve circulation, and applying onion juice to the scalp could increase blood flow to hair follicles.
However, more research is needed to confirm the significance of these findings.

Blood bank at civic hosp to shut down as bldg repairs start
Mumbai: Local residents are upset with the decision to shut down the blood bank attached to BMC-run V N Desai Hospital, Santa Cruz, during ongoing structural repairs to the building. The blood bank, located on the second floor, stopped collecting blood almost a month back. "However, as blood units can be stored for 35 days, we still have some units left in the hospital,'' said a civic official. In early June, a structural audit classified the hospital as a C2A structure—that is, while the building is not dangerous, it's unsafe for continued use without major repairs and must be vacated for safety during the restoration process. The staff was told the second floor would require six to eight months to be restored, prompting the authorities to partially shut down the blood bank. Former Kalina corporator Tulip Miranda is concerned as patients in the H/East ward would now have to travel further—to the civic run Cooper Hospital in Juhu—for blood. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo While there are private blood banks located close to V N Desai Hospital, the costs are high for patients visiting the facility. "There also is uncertainty over whether the blood bank will reopen post-renovation, and whether the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will issue a fresh license,'' said Miranda. The 48-year-old hospital is widely used and has a busy gynaecology department as well as the spinal surgery unit in BMC's suburban hospital network. "Patients who come for a Caesarean section or spine surgery need blood immediately. We cannot get it from a private hospital that is located far from the OT,'' said a doctor who didn't want to be identified. Miranda said suggestions to shift the blood bank to the ground floor were ignored, with officials citing FDA restrictions on such a move. "Why were no alternative arrangements made, especially when surgeries continue to be performed daily?" she said. When contacted, acting medical superintendent Dr Jayaraj Acharya said he didn't want to comment on the issue.

Ministers tried to downplay incident, say oppn leaders
Kottayam: Congress intensified its protest against govt over the building collapse at Kottayam medical college hospital wherein a 52-year-old woman was killed. The irresponsible behaviour of ministers led to D Bindu's death, said opposition leader V D Satheesan at Thalayolaparambu on Friday. Satheesan said the ministers' remarks that the building was closed and no one was inside hindered the rescue operation. "Normally, if a hospital building collapses, govt should provide adequate compensation. But in this case, since the rescue operation was hampered by the ministers, govt has more responsibility," he said. He demanded that govt provide compensation of not less than Rs 25 lakh to the family of Bindu, who was killed in the building collapse, and to undertake her daughter's treatment and offer a job to a family member. Satheeshan said health minister Veena George was incapable of continuing in the position as medical colleges and other hospitals in govt sector were facing shortages of medicines and other materials for treatments. KPCC president Sunny Joseph, who visited the MCH and Bindu's house on Friday, termed her death as a "murder" alleging attempts by ministers George and V N Vasavan to downplay the incident. He said the ministers' eagerness to justify themselves following the incident resulted in the loss of life. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like '이것' 부족하면 운동 소용없다.. 갱년기 살찐 진짜 이유 워킹맘 로즈 더 알아보기 Undo He added that Congress would strengthen its protest to save the health sector. "The first phase was protests in front of medical colleges. The second phase of protests will be held in front of taluk district hospitals on July 8," Joseph said. Meanwhile, Puthuppally MLA Oommen on Friday announced a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh to Bindu's family from Oommen Chandy Foundation. Oommen had reached the spot soon after the incident on Thursday. IUML national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty said George should take moral responsibility for Bindu's death, accusing the minister of having handled the situation irresponsibly. In Malappuram, Kunhalikutty said, "It is not the minister's job to simply echo what officials say. Her response was extremely irresponsible. That is why UDF has demanded her resignation on moral grounds." Muslim Youth League activists took out a march from Vadakke Bus Stand area to the DMO office in Thrissur. Police erected barricades but the protesters tried to push the barricades and proceed to the DMO office, led to tense moments. Police then used water cannons to disperse the protesters.

Yes to dope tests, no to drugs: Panjab University pupils must sign pledge
Representative image CHANDIGARH: Panjab University students have to give an undertaking at the time of admission to stay away from drugs and submit to medical tests at random. This mandatory declaration binds students and their parents to acknowledge university's zero-tolerance policy on drugs, alcohol and tobacco - both in hostels and on campus. According to new rules, students must consent to undergo random drug testing - including breath, blood or urine analysis - if deemed necessary by Panjab University (PU) authorities. The move is in line with a University Grants Commission advisory, calling on all higher educational institutions to implement anti-drug measures. It recommended obtaining written commitments from students, creating awareness, and strengthening surveillance systems to prevent substance abuse. The university's new undertaking warns of strict disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion or legal proceedings against students found in possession of or involved in consumption or distribution of banned substances. PU authorities have also introduced compulsory guest registration in hostels and are in the process of tightening access control. Officials said the anti-drug undertaking was part of a broader crackdown to safeguard campus environment and student wellbeing. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like CEO da Apple Impressionado: O Melhor App Para Intelectuais do Mundo Todo Blinkist Undo "This isn't just about one incident. The undertaking, awareness drives and improved monitoring are part of a systematic effort to make PU a safe and drug-free campus," said a senior official. PU has instructed all departments and hostel wardens to collect signed undertakings from students and their parents before finalizing admissions. The move comes after the death of an outsider of a suspected drug overdose in a PU boys' hostel in Nov. The case triggered scrutiny, especially after a student and a former student were arrested.
