Surya said that this was possible due to PM Modi's personal insistence that the metro line be opened for public without delay. Yellow Line Stations, timings and fare The Yellow Line, which covers a distance of 19.15 km from RV Road to Bommasandra, comprises 16 stations on the route and has been built at a cost of ₹5,056.99 crore. The stations on the line, which include key hubs, are – RV Road, Ragi Gudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommana Halli, Hongra Sandra, Kudlu Gate, Singa Sandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Electronic City, Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahar, Huskur Road, Hebba Godi and Bommasandra, according to News18. The trains on the line will run between 5 am and 11 pm, which is the same as the operational hours for the rest of the metro network, according to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The trains will run at 25-minute intervals, with three driverless train sets on the network initially, according to a Deccan Herald report. The maximum fare charged for the metro line will be ₹90, while the minimum fare will stand at ₹10. The daily ridership for the Yellow Line after its launch is expected to be around 25,000 passengers, with an expected daily revenue of ₹10-15 lakh.

Hooda seeks Rs 50k per acre compensation for farmers
Rohtak: Congress leader and former chief minister of Haryana on Tuesday demanded a compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre for the farmers after thousands of acres of farm land was reportedly submerged in various districts – Bhiwani, Rohtak, Hisar, Jind, Kurukshetra, and Ambala – of the state. "Due to this, farmers are facing huge losses. The crop has been ruined. There is no hope for the coming season as well. To compensate the farmers for their losses, the govt should soon get the girdawari (land assessment) done and provide compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre," said the senior leader. "Today, not only villages and fields, but cities are also facing the problem of waterlogging as the govt, as usual, did not make any arrangements before the rains. Neither the sewerage system was cleaned in the cities nor were the drains in the villages cleaned. The sanitation system has also been completely destroyed. Heaps of garbage are seen everywhere, due to which the general public is facing the possibility of an outbreak of water-borne ailments," claimed Hooda. Addressing a press conference in Rohtak, Hooda said the Congress would raise many issues like agriculture, law and order, inflation, unemployment, and increased collector rate in the upcoming monsoon session. "The BJP govt has once again taken a decision to skyrocket the rates of land. The govt has directly increased the collector rate by 10 to 145%, a rise of almost two-and-a-half times. Speaking on the "outright deception" of Skill Development Corporation workers, the former CM said the BJP spread a lot of lies during the assembly elections. Now no one will be able to remove them till retirement, but ever since the BJP came to power for the third time, workers are being removed from employment," said Hooda. He further said: "Now another notice has been issued to remove those who are working in Kaushal Nigam for less than 5 years. That is why all workers are regretting their decision to vote for the BJP.". Hooda said the same "fraud" was done with ration card holders. "There was a scam of crores of rupees in Haryana regarding the making of BPL cards. It is through this scam that the BJP robbed the public opinion in the state. The BJP first implemented Parivar Pehchan Patra and cut the BPL cards of lakhs of people. Then as the elections approached, lakhs of BPL cards were made in a hurry. Cards were also made for those people who were ineligible for it," he pointed out. Not only this, he said, the BJP spread confusion among the public during the elections that if Congress came to power, it would cancel these ration cards while making new cards. "In this fear and confusion, lakhs of people voted for the BJP. They started showing their true colours as soon as the govt was formed for the third time. PM Modi congratulates Amit Shah on becoming longest-serving home minister
Addressing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Members of Parliament (MPs) on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has become the longest-serving incumbent in his ministry, surpassing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran L K Advani. 'It is just the beginning,' the PM said, adding that there is a long way to go for Shah — a remark that led some MPs to speculate on its possible implications. Shah took charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs on May 30, 2019, and continued as the country's home minister in 2024. On Tuesday, he became the longest-serving home minister with a tenure of six years and 66 days, surpassing Congress leader Gobind Ballabh Pant, who held the post for six years and 65 days between 1955 and 1961. Advani was home minister for six years and 64 days between 1998 and 2004. Shah reached this milestone on the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, which Parliament repealed on August 5, 2019. Currently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who turned 74 in July, ranks second in the Union Council of Ministers. He has served in the first and second Modi-led NDA governments between 2014 and 2024. After the PM, he was the first Cabinet minister to take the oath of office in 2014, 2019, and again in 2024. At Tuesday's meeting, MPs felicitated the PM for his "exceptional leadership" in marshalling India's response following the Pahalgam terror attack. A resolution passed at the meeting praised the armed forces for their "unmatched courage" and "unwavering commitment" during Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. Singh garlanded Modi, with Shah and Union Minister and BJP president J P Nadda by his side. After the meeting, Singh led MPs from the Parliament Library Building — the venue — to the Parliament House. The PM told BJP and allied MPs that they should participate actively in all programmes as part of the ruling coalition, irrespective of their party's individual strength in a particular region. In some states, the BJP may not be as strong as its allies, but all parties must act together as NDA members, he said. Sources present at the meeting said the PM's broader message was about maintaining cohesion and coordination within the alliance. Leaders of NDA allies joined BJP leaders in the front row at the meeting. The BJP and its allies currently govern in 19 out of 28 states and are preparing for the upcoming Assembly polls in Bihar. The NDA Parliamentary Party meeting was last held on July 2, 2024. At Tuesday's gathering, Modi also noted the historical significance of August 5. Article 370 was abrogated on this day in 2019, and the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya took place on August 5, 2020. The NDA resolution paid tribute to the 26 civilians who lost their lives in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, carried out by terrorists linked to Pakistan. It also praised Modi for his leadership. The NDA is yet to announce its candidate for the vice-presidential election, scheduled for September 9. The last date for filing nominations is August 21. The BJP is also expected to elect its next president soon.
