Bastille frontman Dan Smith reveals truth about band's rumoured secret Glastonbury 2025 set
BASTILLE have performed at Glastonbury every three years since 2013 – which means the Pompeii singers were likely for a return this weekend.
But after appearing in 2016, 2019 and 2022, I'm afraid I am going to dash the hopes of fans who have been speculating
In an exclusive chat, Dan, who will instead tour arenas with the band in November, said: 'We are not doing any festivals this year.
'I love Glastonbury and I will be there jumping around in every field I can physically get myself to.
'But as a kind of lifelong Glastonbury fan, as much as I love playing there, there's something slightly more exciting about just getting to go as a fan and enjoy it.'
It's not all play for Dan though, as the movie-loving singer is on the line-up tomorrow night at the Pilton Palais Cinema, where he will introduce a screening of Wild At Heart.

And Dan won't hear any criticism of the festival line-up.
He said: 'There's so much variety there.
'I think there's a tendency to get hung up on where people are on the bill.'

Backstage, the birthday girl was full of excitement and joked, 'It was this or a six-pack in the kitchen,' as I wished her good luck before she went on stage.
Fans were treated to a full run- through of her debut album, Eye To The Telescope, which turns 20 this year.
But they got extra bang for their buck when KT performed the title track of the album, which she never released.
'I abandoned it,' KT explained, as she revealed that she recorded the song inside the laboratory where her late dad used to work as a physicist.
'I wrote a verse and the chorus . . . 20 years to write a song, bloody hell.'
The track, which will appear on the re-issue on the album when it comes out in October, is lyrically beautiful and tinged with emotion.
For me, the highlight of the night was KT and Sporty's mash-up of the Spice Girls' 1997 hit Stop with (I've Had) The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing, which raised the roof of the hall.
Happy birthday, KT.
Now it's time to crack open that six-pack.

Lauren's busted as a fan
REMEMBER MONDAY's
The singer said in an exclusive chat: 'I was a Busted girl when I was younger and I showed James Bourne a photo of me holding a banner I made for a concert when I was younger. I'd drawn all their faces on and everything. He was like, 'Er… it's so nice to meet you'.'

Bandmate Charlotte Steele added: 'And McFly have aged like a fine wine.
'They were looking very good. I was a Dougie Poynter fan so when we met them . . . I just couldn't speak to him.'
Elsewhere, I caught up with Olly Murs, who chose to break his strict tour rule of eating clean – by tucking into a massive beef Sunday roast.
Lost in translation
RESEARCH from GetYourGuide has revealed one in three fans can't understand Liam Gallagher's thick Manc accent.
It has brought out a 'Manctionary' in time for Oasis' reunion shows.
This will help fans with slang including 'scran's angin', for when they've forked out £12 on a crap burger, and 'bobbins', which translates into 'rubbish'.
Brooklyn bites back in Nic pic
MORE shots have been fired in the never-ending saga that has become Brooklyn Beckham's strained relationship with his family.
According to insiders close to Posh and Becks, the aspiring chef is now being described as 'the hostage' by those who know him – as his wife

On a social media post about wife Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn Beckham said 'It's been five years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me. Best decision ever'

But Brooklyn has made his feelings clear on how he feels about the nickname, by posting a loved-up snap of actress Nicola on Instagram with the caption: 'It's been five years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me.
The rest of the Beckham clan clearly don't agree.

Launching into Introvert, from her Mercury Prize-winning album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, was a hit with the crowd.
Talking about her own struggle with mental health, which the record focuses on, Simz added: 'I encourage anyone who is going through anything right now to stay up, stay strong.'
The Chineke! Orchestra, led by Chris Cameron, provided beautiful, deep soundscapes with Simz taking the chance to conduct during Venom.
The tune of the night came with a mash-up of Lion and Point And Kill, featuring Obongjayar, who strutted on to the stage in fabulous diamond-encrusted sunglasses. Exquisite.
Cashh and Wretch 32 joined her for the more pensive Blood, and she treated her fans to new track Lonely, saying: 'It was very much me losing my self-confidence and feeling like I didn't know how to find that again.'

Kneecap among artists' whose Glastonbury gigs are under review by UK police
BRITISH POLICE ARE assessing videos of comments made by acts Kneecap and Bob Vylan at the Glastonbury music festival yesterday to decide whether any offences may have been committed. The BBC cut its coverage from the West Holts stage briefly before Kneecap was set to perform to 'ensure that our programming meets our editorial guidelines' – later confirming that the gig would be shown on the iPlayer. Kneecap, an outspoken rap group from Belfast who have been criticised for their views on Israel's war in Gaza, was the only day-time act not broadcast live yesterday. Performing before them was rap punk band Bob Vylan. Frontman Bobby Vylan led chants of 'Free, Free Palestine' and 'Death, Death to the IDF'. A BBC spokesperson has since said that some of the set was 'deeply offensive'. Kneecap then followed, opening their set with a film reel of news clips featuring politicians and TV personality Sharon Osbourne calling for the group's gig to be cancelled by the festival . The band has been in the headlines after its member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, whose stage name is Mo Chara, appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court this month. Advertisement He is charged with allegedly displaying a flag of the proscribed terrorist group Hezbollah while saying 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a concert in November. Ó hAnnaidh was released on unconditional bail to appear before a judge again in August . In reference to his bandmate's upcoming court date, Naoise Ó Cairealláin, who performs under the name Móglaí Bap, said they would 'start a riot outside the courts', before clarifying: 'No riots just love and support, and support for Palestine.' In a post on social media , Avon and Somerset Police said: 'We are aware of the comments made by acts on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival this afternoon. 'Video evidence will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation.' Britain's Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy also spoke to BBC's director general about Bob Vylan's performance. A spokesperson later issued a condemnation of the performance. Kneecap packed out the West Holts stage at the Glastonbury Festival, leading to event organisers telling festival-goers to avoid the area. In a brief post to social media, the music festival said: 'No access to West Holts. Please head to another area of the site – thank you.' Ó hAnnaidh wore a keffiyeh during the set, while member JJ Ó Dochartaigh, who performs under the name DJ Próvaí, wore his signature tri-coloured balaclava. F1 in pole position as rave reviews have it set to become hit of the summer
F1: The Movie starring Oscar nominee Kerry Condon and Brad Pitt is on track to become the biggest blockbuster of the summer in Ireland. The film has been attracting rave reviews since it opened in cinemas here this week. And although official audience figures will not be released until tomorrow, industry sources reported yesterday that the movie is expected to be one of the biggest-grossing films of the year, both domestically and globally. Brad Pitt in F1. Pic: Warner Bros/Everett/Shutterstock One source told 'It's a bit early to say, but based on Friday's numbers, which have been good, it's up there with our best performing movies over the past few months. 'It's up there with 28 Years Later, which performed very well and the horror film Final Destination. It's tracking to match up with our best movies and it's on par with superhero and horror movies. 'I don't think anyone will disagree that it will be the biggest hit of the summer.' F1. Pic: Warner Bros/Apple Conor Kelly of Dublin's Savoy Cinema also said the movie is gearing up to be the big hit of the summer. He told 'People are just saying it's great and when they come out [of the cinema] they are saying they want to see it again. 'It's going very well and everyone has been raving about it. It's like the [Top Gun] Maverick movie, and even people who don't like Formula 1 – the sport – are saying they think it's well done.' Tom Cruise. Pic: Paramount Pictures He added: 'It's bringing in people. I think it's going to be like Twisters last year; that was helped by word of mouth. It could be the hit of the summer.' F1: The Movie opened in 710 cinemas in Ireland and the UK last Wednesday. The American movie trade magazine Variety has forecast it will make €42m during its first weeks in the cinemas. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Top Gun: Maverick's Jerry Bruckheimer, F1 cost €170m to make. Kerry Condon. Pic: Amy Muir/REX/Shutterstock Although the film is a work of fiction, Condon's character Kate – the only female technical director in Formula One – is largely based on the real-life Fermanagh woman and former Aston Martin strategist Bernie Collins. Condon – whose character keeps her distinctive Thurles accent in the film – has admitted she knew nothing about motorsport before she landed the leading lady role. Speaking about her pre-shoot preparation for the racing platform F1 Nation this week, Condon said: 'The first race I went to was in Barcelona, just to meet people and observe everybody. Everyone was so nice and generous, particularly Bernie Collins.' 'I learned a lot from Bernie because of her Irish background. I thought that was going to be perfect. I thought, 'yes, bingo, I'm going to base it kind of on Bernie's backstory.' [F1 TV's] Ruth Buscombe as well was very helpful. 'I just kind of found out a little bit about where they went to college and what they studied and the route that they took to get there,' Condon added. 'And then little things like the notepad that I have [in the movie] when I walk to the pit wall. I asked Bernie what she would have written on the front page of her notepad, just in case the camera caught a glimpse of my notepad or something. 'It was kind of radical because we shot a lot of the movie live with the real Grand Prix, so a lot of the cars flying by in the background were the real cars happening in real time. That's never been done before.'
