British star knocked over Al Pacino and ‘left him on floor' while smuggling food
The Good Place and Netflix star revealed she accidentally floored the veteran actor, then roughly 75, during a bash thrown by the head of the United Talent Agency.
She admitted she was attempting to leave the party with 10 wagyu steaks hidden under her skirt (relatable) when she accidentally bumped into Pacino – and then fled without helping him up.
She told the Guardian newspaper: 'I knocked over Al Pacino at a party. It was at the head of UTA's house back in maybe 2015. I'd stolen a bunch of food – they had really good wagyu steaks, so I took 10 wrapped in a cloth napkin, they were kind of bleeding.'
Explaining that she 'bundled them in between my legs, underneath my miniskirt', the 39-year-old body positivity campaigner continued: '[I] was shuffling as fast as I could out of the party when I knocked over Al Pacino.
'And then I left him on the ground, because the steaks flew out from under my skirt, leaving this bloody streak across the white floor. I grabbed the steaks and ran out of the party.'
However, the take doesn't finish there as the actress and podcaster decided to finish off her evening by sending a text message to director Judd Apatow in a bid to cover her tracks.
She added: '[I] texted Judd Apatow: 'Sorry, I had to leave. I hope they catch that guy that knocked over Al Pacino'.'
It comes after Jameela admitted she had just $17 left in her bank account when she was cast in her breakthrough role on The Good Place.
The former presenter, who played Tahani Al-Jamil in Mike Schur's beloved sitcom about the afterlife, revealed she 'ran out of money' after leaving the BBC Radio 1 Chart Show in 2015 and deciding she 'wanted to be a writer and a DJ'.
She joined her musician boyfriend James Blake on tour for most of the next year, but soon found herself struggling.
Appearing on David Tennant Does a Podcast With…, she recalled: 'I ran out of money and so I said, 'Please can I have a job, any job, I will do anything'.'
'I was so desperate for money at that point. I had $17 (£12.82) left in my bank account. I was real keen,' she continued. 'But instead I was handed a bunch of auditions.'
Among those opportunities was a Las Vegas magic show, and what became her role in The Good Place.
However, she had 'never acted before' – and not even taken an acting lesson – and was still focused on being a writer, with one of her scripts landing her representation from an agency who suggested she audition for the show. More Trending
She added: 'They were the ones who said, 'We want you to go to this audition for Mike Schur. You'll have more power as a writer if you have a name for yourself, or you can just meet him and maybe he'll put you in the writer's room…'
'So I went to the audition, just very much so not thinking anything was going to come of it. I got both the magic show and Mike Schur, and I had to make a choice. You weren't allowed to do both.'
Despite opting for The Good Place, after being pushed towards it, she still revealed she tried to talk Schur, who also co-created Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, out of hiring her.
She has gone on to act in Marvel's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law TV series, Poker Face and take voice roles in the likes of DuckTales and Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous.

'I lead a wondrous new TV period drama – it's a blessing'
'Seeing your face on billboards, in a trailer… it's crazy. I'm just grateful.' Three years ago, just a year after graduating from drama school, Ernest Kingsley Jr was cast as the lead in Washington Black, a period drama brimming with heart and adventure. The high-octane TV series, which also stars This Is Us and Paradise actor Sterling K Brown, has finally launched on Disney Plus today, and the titular star admits to Metro that the whole experience up to this point has been 'surreal'. 'When they told me I got the job, it was in a meeting like this, all over Zoom,' Ernest says on our video call, explaining that a global search was conducted to find the actor who would play the protagonist, George Washington 'Wash' Black. Sterling, who's also an executive producer on the show, showered the up-and-coming actor with 'lovely words and kind-hearted support' when the decision was announced. 'I just felt really overwhelmed. Surreal is the best word I can use,' Ernest adds. Having previously starred in Netflix's The Sandman and the recent TV adaptation of War of the Worlds, Washington Black – based on the book of the same name by Esi Edugyan – marks his first time in a lead role. Growing up on a sugar plantation in Barbados, it's apparent from a young age that Wash is a child prodigy with a keen scientific mind. His genius is recognised by a man called Christopher 'Titch' Wilde (Tom Ellis), who takes Wash on a globe-trotting adventure when a distressing incident forces them to flee. As an adult in Nova Scotia, a man called Medwin Harris (Sterling) acts as a mentor towards Wash, and that close relationship also carried across between the actors off-screen. While working with Sterling was an 'absolute gift', Ernest reveals that his first day filming with the acting legend was particularly daunting, given they had to have a bit of a physical tussle. 'We had a scene where he had to kind of rough me up a bit, and he did, much to my shock. I was just there like, 'Oh gosh, okay, this is go time,'' he remembers light-heartedly. 'He just has an essence that lifts you up, his spirit lifts your spirit. To have someone like that as a workmate, but also as a mentor, a brother, a friend. It was a complete gift and a blessing.' During a joint appearance on BBC's The One Show, Sterling went so far as to say that he believes Ernest is on the verge of becoming a 'household name'. One can only imagine how it must have felt to receive a compliment as extraordinary as that. '[Sterling] strikes me as someone who's a man of his word. He doesn't like to say things wishy-washy. He says things that he believes in and he acts upon it,' Ernest remarks. 'So to hear him say these words, especially, 'household name', it's just crazy. I can only hug him and hug him again, and then hug him again.' As the actor describes it, Washington Black is a 'wondrous' adventure, an odyssey of the fictional character's life that has even inspired him to do more solo travelling in the future. However, he wasn't the only actor to experience Wash's inspiring journey first-hand, as the brilliantly talented Eddie was cast as the younger version of the lead. 'We got to spend so much time with each other. Me and him, we spent so much time playing chess together. He's amazing at chess,' Ernest remembers fondly. 'We had multiple moments to meet up with the directors, to hash out what kind of things we wanted to keep the same, little mannerisms. I think what came out of it was the essence. 'How do I keep the essence of innocence and vulnerability and joy that Eddie brought to the character so beautifully? I found some moments to watch him on set as well when I wasn't working, to learn from him and see what I could keep.' So, who beat who more at chess? 'I'm gonna say me. Somebody could say otherwise, but I'm the only one here right now,' Ernest replies mischievously. We'll have to take his word for it. Now the lead of his own TV show, after booking and filming his role as Kai'ckul in The Sandman when he was still in drama school, the future is looking bright for Ernest. BBC denies cutting Irish language part of CMAT single in first radio play
The Meath musician, whose name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, said she did not know who made the decision to edit out the start of her new track Euro-Country. She posted to social media to say that there was another 'crazy edit' removing a reference in the song to suicides in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crash. 'I just want to say really quickly that it was not my decision to have the Irish language edited out of the first ever play of Euro Country on radio,' she said on Instagram on Tuesday. 'It was not my decision and I don't know if it was a mistake or what happened but that was not my decision. 'However, they have just got in contact and said that they are going to play the Irish language intro, full-version of Euro-Country tomorrow (Wednesday) to make up for it. 'I don't know who edited it out, that was crazy of them.' The Irish lyrics at the start of the song refer to 'an empty head' and 'a new personality' after someone has 'gone from my life'. The last Irish lyric asks 'will I be beautiful bald'. The lyrics are: 'Cad is ga dom a dheanamh mura bhfuil me ag bualadh leat? 'Ta ceann folamh agam, agus pearsantach nua. Eirim nios dofheicthe, is tu imithe o mo shoal. 'Nil aon rud fagtha sa scathain, An mbeidh me alainn mhaol? Yeah.' In a statement, the BBC said the version of the song supplied by the record label was played, and the full version would be played on Radio 1 three times on Wednesday. 'BBC Radio 1 did not edit the Irish language from this single, we broadcast the radio edit of CMAT's new song Euro-Country that was supplied by the record label,' it said. 'BBC Radio 1 has already played the full version that includes the Irish language intro today on 'Rickie Melvin and Charlie', and it will be played again on 'Going Home', and Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.' The 29-year-old pop singer, who blends pop and rock with folk and country influences, has won plaudits for her performance at Glastonbury, and is due to perform at the All Together Now festival in August and at the 3Arena in December. Her third studio album is set for release on August 29.
