Confusion erupts as Pat Cummins argues with umpires
After collapsing to be all out for 225 on the opening day, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins both took wickets in the afternoon session on Sunday (Monday AEST).
Australia would have been happy to restrict West Indies to 57 runs in the 23-over session, given batting is seemingly much more difficult under lights at Kingston's Sabina Park.
But the main talking point of the first session was a potential missed chance to run out John Campbell on 15.
After the right-hander dropped the ball to Cummins at mid-off and took a quick single, Australia's captain threw down the stumps with just one to aim at.

Cummins remonstrated with umpire Nitin Menon after the next ball, and could be heard to say 'I appealed', while asking while it was not referred upstairs.
'Check it out. Why wouldn't you just check it out?' he added during a heated conversation that lasted around 30 seconds.

Cricket's laws state a batter has made their ground once either their body or bat touches the ground past the popping crease when completing a run.
Campbell went to the tea break unbeaten on 31, aided by four overthrows from Steve Smith just before the break.
A win in Jamaica would hand Australia a 3-0 series whitewash, and give the tourists the best possible start to trying to win back the World Test Championship in 2027.
Having left out spinner Nathan Lyon while fit for the first time in 12 years, Australia''s four-strong pace attack still got plenty of seam movement on day two.
Hazlewood removed Brandon King for 14 in that fashion, seaming one back into the right-hander's front pad to have him lbw.
Cummins then made use of extra bounce to have Roston Chase (18) caught at slip, with one that reared up and took the outside edge.

Kalyn Ponga linked with bombshell Knights exit as star fullback fears he's wasting his prime
Bombshell claims have emerged that Kalyn Ponga is seriously considering asking for a release from the Knights after becoming fed up with the direction of the club. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the 27-year-old has engaged the services of a New Zealand rugby union agent as he weighs up leaving the Hunter. However, reports suggest the fullback is potentially willing to leave $1.8m on the table by exiting at the end of the season as he feels that he is wasting his prime years at the club. The fullback has not formally requested a release at this stage, but Knights powerbrokers are understood to be willing to consider a request if it comes through. If Ponga were to stay, Newcastle has $2.8m of its salary cap going towards two players from next season, with Eels star Dylan Brown set to arrive next year. If he is to go, Fletcher Sharpe would likely move to fullback, opening the door for the Knights to pursue a new half to partner Brown. Ponga, born in Australia to Kiwi parents, has previously voiced his desire to one day represent the All Blacks, and rather than head to another NRL team could make the switch to the 15-man code instead. In an earlier interview with TMZ, the superstar made it known his family desired to see him represent New Zealand and the fullback admitted to being torn about which nation to pledge his allegiance to at the end of last year. 'It's (New Zealand roots) a very important part of my heritage. It's who I am. It's the values and morals embedded in me through my uncles and my Dad,' Ponga said. 'There's been a cloud over my head as to what I'm doing with my allegiance.' Ponga would have no shortage of suitors if he were to move to another NRL team or rugby. If he were to move to rugby at the end of this year it would also give him a chance of fulfilling his dream of playing for the All Blacks. Ponga would have the 2026 season to get up to speed before the Rugby World Cup in Australia in 2027. The news around Ponga comes amid another report that suggests Adam O'Brien could be sacked at the end of the season. O'Brien had a clause triggered in his deal that extended his stay until the end of 2027 after he finished in the top 12 last season. But even the hefty payout the Knights will have to cough up reportedly is not enough to save his job, with his six-year tenure at the club appearing to be all but over. SMH reports that unless O'Brien leads the Knights to finals footy in 2025 – which is incredibly unlikely – he will be given his marching orders. Assistant coach Blake Green would be an obvious replacement. Queensland assistant Josh Hannay and former Eels coach Brad Arthur are also believed to be leading contenders for the Newcastle top job if O'Brien is given the boot.

Blues youngster Ben Camporeale has been slapped with a four-match ban in the VFL for rough conduct after his actions resulted in two of his opponents' teeth being broken. Father-son product Camporeale was cited for rough conduct after pushing Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson into teammate James Tunstill at a centre bounce in the final quarter last Friday, causing the two Lions players to collide heavily. It's a disappointing turn of events for Camporeale and the Blues, with the first-year ball-getter previously on the verge of an AFL debut after impressing in the reserves ranks over several weeks. Across 14 VFL outings in his debut campaign, the 18-year-old has averaged 21.9 disposals and 4.5 tackles per game. He's managed six games with 25 or more possessions. If Camporeale's suspension stands, he will not be able to be selected for Carlton's upcoming fixtures with Melbourne, Hawthorn, Fremantle and Gold Coast.
