New Delhi [India], June 16 (ANI): International President of World Punjabi Organisation and RS MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Monday condemned the alleged act of young Jatt kids kicking posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on social media X, Singh shared a video purportedly originating in Canada showing young children kicking a truck with pictures of PM Modi and wrote that it was 'unfortunate' that young and tender innocent minds were fed with hate instead of hope.

He further wrote in his post that children should be imbued with the moral values emphasised by Guru Sahib.
'As International President of World Punjabi Organisation, I strongly condemn this act. It is deeply unfortunate when young, tender and innocent minds are fed with hate instead of hope. Let us imbibe in our children the moral values emphasised by our Guru sahib and that is ' Jb Tk Duniya Rahiye Nanak Kuch Suniye Kuch Kahiye'. Solution of all the issues is in dialogue,' the post read.
He further stated that one should not forget that under the leadership of PM Modi, India was able to take various decisions, including the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor and the Hemkunt Sahib ropeway.
'Let's also not forget Government of India's various decisions under PM Modi's leadership like opening up of Kartarpur Corridor, Hemkunt Sahib Ropeway, Setting up SITs for 1984 anti Sikh genocide Victims, Slashing of blacklisting and visa clearance for Overseas Sikhs who were wrongly barred, granting FCRA registration to Sri Darbar Sahbir enabling global Sangat to do Seva, waiving office GST on Langar items, celebrating 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and 400th of Guru Teg Bahadur ji at large scale are some positive and constructive gestures towards Sikh sentiments,' the post read.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, in a post on X also condemned the alleged act and stated that every Sikh was 'deeply disturbed' and 'ashamed' to see the unlike-Sikh incident against a leader who constantly showed up for the ethos of Sikhism.
In his post, Sirsa wrote that the incident was not the 'spirit of Sikhism' but the 'influence of individuals with dangerous agendas.'
'Every Sikh is deeply disturbed and ashamed to see this unlike-Sikh incident in Canada, where children are inflicting such hatred. And that too against a leader who has consistently shown deep respect for the ethos of Sikhism. What we are witnessing is not the spirit of Sikhism but the influence of some individuals with dangerous agendas. These aren't true representatives of our faith; they appear to be ISI-influenced agents who aren't shying away from radicalising youth or children. They are promoting hate, with a sinister goal of isolating Sikhs globally and tarnishing our reputation. We condemn this behaviour in the strongest possible terms. It is time for all Sikhs, especially those in the diaspora, to stand up against this distortion of our identity and teachings,' the post read.
Sirsa further mentioned that Sikhs were ever grateful to PM Modi for all that he had done for the community.
'Sikhs in India are ever grateful to Modi Ji for all that he has done for the community... from the opening of Kartarpur Corridor to celebrating Guru Purabs with such devotion and commemorating the heroic deeds of Sahibzades. He is the one who organised the historic celebration at the Red Fort. He is one who ensured the safe return of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from Afghanistan. He is the one who understood the pain of the 1984 genocide and ensured justice for the victim families,' the post further read. (ANI)

ISMA urges Govt to continue with curbs on ethanol imports

New Delhi: The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) has urged the government to continue with the restrictions on ethanol imports as the measure has spurred India's petrol blending programme in the drive to green energy and also enabled timely payments to sugarcane farmers. ISMA has, in a letter to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, referred to media reports suggesting the possible consideration of lifting restrictions on ethanol imports for fuel blending, as part of ongoing trade discussions with the US. The latter states that over the last few years, the Government's clear and forward-looking policy direction-anchored in the National Policy on Biofuels which led to placing ethanol imports for fuel under the 'restricted' category, has laid a solid foundation for a self-reliant, domestic ethanol economy. The interest subvention schemes and facilitative regulatory ecosystem have catalysed the establishment and expansion of indigenous ethanol capacities across India, the letter points out. These landmark interventions have achieved multiple national objectives of ensuring timely payments and enhanced incomes for sugarcane farmers, reducing India's dependence on imported crude oil and promoting clean and sustainable biofuels, the letter states. It highlights that the coordinated effort has led to India's ethanol production capacity growing by over 140 per cent since 2018, with investments exceeding Rs 40,000 crore. Ethanol blending has already reached 18.86 per cent and is firmly on track to meet the 20 per cent blending objective ahead of target. This remarkable progress has been made possible due to the Prime Minister's visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of India's farmers. This has had a direct and measurable impact on farmers' welfare. By allowing the diversion of sugarcane and surplus grains into ethanol production at administered prices, the government has enabled timely cane payments and improved farm-level incomes across the country, the letter added. The latter states that opening up ethanol imports for blending would pose challenges to the sugar industry as it would affect profitability and may lead to underutilisation of Indian ethanol plants, many of which are still in the early stages of capital recovery.

The CCTV footage was from 5.58 pm, some time before unknown assailants in a car allegedly fired at Fazilpuria, 35, ( ) when he was standing near his SUV at the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) section near Badshahpur in Gurgaon's Sector 71. Fazilpuria, in his complaint to the police, said he got into his vehicle and escaped unhurt as the assailants could not chase him due to the traffic. He gained fame in 2014 with his rap song 'Ladki Kar Gayi Chull,' which was also featured in the Bollywood movie Kapoor and Sons, starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Fawad Khan. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also questioned the two regarding allegations of money laundering and involvement in rave parties. The agency confiscated movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 58 lakh, which were allegedly linked to them, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This action was part of an investigation related to a similar snake venom case registered by the Noida police.

Despite lodging a formal complaint and seeking help from the principal, her pleas were ignored, leading to the tragic incident. The incident occurred at Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College. Live Events Meanwhile, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi , on Tuesday called the death an "organised murder by the BJP's system," accusing the BJP of failing to protect the victim. Gandhi alleged that the student was subjected to repeated threats, torments and humiliation instead of receiving justice. In a post on X, LoP Gandhi wrote, "The death of a daughter fighting for justice in Odisha is nothing less than a murder by the BJP's system. That brave student raised her voice against sexual harassment, but instead of delivering justice, she was threatened, tormented, and repeatedly humiliated. Those who were supposed to protect her kept breaking her." — RahulGandhi (@RahulGandhi) "As always, the BJP's system continued to shield the accused and forced an innocent daughter to set herself on fire. This is not suicide; it is an organised murder by the system. Modi ji, whether in Odisha or Manipur, the daughters of the nation are burning, breaking, and dying. And you? You remain silent. The country doesn't need your silence; it needs answers. India's daughters need safety and justice," the post read. Earlier in the day, the Congress workers staged a protest outside AIIMS Bhubaneswar following the death of the student. Police later detained the protesting workers.
