Emmerdale fans predict tragic suicide twist for Dales legend after six-year break

Daily Record4 days ago

Fans of the long-running show have predicted a tragic death for an Emmerdale legend, who only recently returned to the Dales.
Fans of long-running popular soap Emmerdale have predicted a tragic end for one of the Dales' most recognisable faces. Robert Sudgen, played by Ryan Hawley, made his dramatic return to the soap recently after leaving six years ago.
The character was previously incarcerated in 2019 for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), who assaulted his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). Robert's ex-husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has since remarried, tying the knot with Robert's half-brother and the current villain of the series, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

Having first appeared on the soap last year, John holds many secrets, including the murder of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), whose body he disposed of in a river. Robert recently returned to the village permanently and moved in with his sister Victoria.

Robert is set on uncovering John as the village's secret murderer, and is also attempting to rekindle his relationship with ex Aaron, reports Belfast Live.
But the Emmerdale character is currently battling his own inner demons, having been plagued by nightmares.
Last week, he unintentionally struck Victoria when she startled him awake from one of these debilitating bad dreams.
Robert also began his new role at the depot in recent episodes.
However, he was promptly dismissed after John coerced owner Caleb (William Ash) into firing him.
Whilst some viewers believe that John may kill Robert, others have speculated a tragic plot twist.

On an Emmerdale Street Facebook fan page, viewers expressed concerns about Robert's mental health, suggesting his struggles to cope after prison could lead to a tragic outcome.
One fan wrote: "I have a sad feeling that Robert may take his own life. He's clearly suffered a lot in prison and has to watch his ex move on."

Others agreed, with one commenting: "Plausible," and another adding: "He's definitely struggling! I really hope he doesn't, but you never know."
A fourth fan echoed their sentiments, saying: "I said this as well," accompanied by a crying face emoji.

In other Emmerdale news, fans believe that a Dales legend may be the one to take villain John Sugden down for good.
On one of last week's episodes, a grieving Cain got drunk on a bottle of strong alcohol that his father, Zak (Steve Halliwell), had brewed before his death.
John then noticed Cain stumbling around the village drunk and quickly made him his next target.

The Emmerdale villain took Cain home and encouraged him to drink heavily until he collapsed on the floor, with John rushing to "save" him just as Moira (Natalie J Robb) walked through the door.
John told Moira that he had taken Cain home to keep an eye on him after he'd drank a dangerous amount of alcohol in secret.
But fans believe that Moira may have clocked on to the two glasses left on the table, revealing that John was lying about drinking with Cain.

Some fans believe this huge twist could finally lead to the demise of Emmerdale's biggest current villain.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
