Subsidy on EVs below 40 lakh to be restored in Haryana
Gurgaon: The subsidy on electric vehicles (EVs) priced below Rs 40 lakh is set to be restored. At present, a subsidy of up to 15% is available only on EVs costing over Rs 40 lakh — a price point out of reach for the middle class. While chairing a high-level review meeting with officers from his department regarding the new MSME policy, industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh on Thursday directed officials to restore the subsidy on electric vehicles to "provide relief to middle-class consumers", besides promoting eco-friendly transport. Ganj to get visual upgrades, Charak crossing new design
Lucknow: A set of urban development projects, including a new park, 'Moti Park', near Motijheel, ecological work along the Kukrail river, redesign of the busy Charak Chauraha, and visual upgrades in Hazratganj, were cleared in a review meeting chaired by divisional commissioner and LDA chairperson Roshan Jacob on Thursday. The proposed 'Moti Park' will come up on 11 hectares in Aishbagh at a cost of Rs 7 crore. The plan includes walkways, seating, kiosks, and parking. A constructed wetland system will treat sewage currently flowing into Motijheel and the Jamuna lakes. "Clean water should enter the lake and the park must be linked to Aishbagh Road with proper access," said Jacob. LDA vice chairperson Prathamesh Kumar added, "Encroachments near the lakes are being removed. Fencing has started. The park follows the Atal Park model developed near the Yamuna." The divisional commissioner also cleared a proposal to convert land freed from encroachment in Bhikhapur, near the Kukrail river, into a forest-style green zone. "This area will be developed on the lines of Saumitra Van, with support from the forest department," Jacob said. The municipal corporation has also been asked to begin work on the 'Shakti Van' project. The proposal to realign the current rotary at Charak crossing in Chowk to beat traffic congestion was also discussed. The officials have been asked to conduct a joint survey and prepare a new design. Meanwhile, Hazratganj's façade redesign is now in the final stage. Colours and styles for buildings, lights, bollards, benches, and signage were approved in a meeting with traders of Hazratganj Vyapar Mandal. Live samples of the elements were presented for feedback. Traders flagged issues with sewer and water connections, prompting the divisional commissioner to direct the concerned departments to resolve them. LESA was instructed to coordinate panel placement and underground cabling.
