The Archdiocese of Caceres will hold a Rite of Reparation and Healing on Wednesday, July 2 following a recent tragic incident at the Parish Church of San Francisco de Asis in Naga City. The archdiocese said the church will remain closed until Wednesday 'to allow for a period of prayerful mourning and reparation.' 'The Rite of Reparation and Healing will be held on the evening of July 2, 2025, to restore the church's sacred character and offer communal healing,' it said in a statement on Monday. The archdiocese also said that it will provide debriefing, trauma support, and spiritual accompaniment to the immediate family of the deceased and the affected parishioners courtesy of licensed psychologists and trained pastoral counselors. 'In these moments of sorrow and uncertainty, the Church offers not judgement, but the hope of Christ's mercy, who came to bind up the wounded and heal the brokenhearted. The Archdiocese is also collaborating closely with the proper authorities,' it said. 'We pray for the eternal repose of the soul of the deceased. We pray that deep psychological suffering will not lead to hopelessness. Let us also give the deceased's family and loved ones the privacy they need at this difficult time.
