Never too early to plan: Oak Hill already preparing to host U.S. Women's Open in 2037
Having previously hosted seven men's majors, including three U.S. Opens and the 1995 Ryder Cup, this event will mark the first time a major women's tournament has been played at the club. It will also be the seventh to be hosted in New York.
"Major championship golf is in the DNA of Oak Hill, and we are thrilled to bring the U.S. Women's Open tothe club for the first time," said the U.S. Golf Association chief championships officer, John Bodenhamer, in a press release. "Oak Hill has long been a proven stage for some of golf's biggest moments, and we are proud to add the U.S. Women's Open to its storied history."
Oak Hill has witnessed some of the most historic scenes in recent golfing history. From legend Arnold Palmer paying a visit, Curtis Strange becoming the first player to win back-to-back championships since 1950 following his win in '89, and the presence of a modern star and local fan favorite, Rory McIlroy, just two years ago during the 2023 PGA Championship.
The club was founded in 1901 before moving to its current location in 1926. The course was restored in 2019 by Andrew Green.

Ryder Cup update: A closer look at potential American captain's picks
Cameron Young thrust himself into the Ryder Cup conversation with his victory Sunday at the Wyndham Championship. While the top six remained the same ahead of the post-BMW cutoff for automatic qualification, the captain's pick race continues to get hotter. Aaron Rai among those moving up in the latest European team Ryder Cup rankings
The 2025 Ryder Cup is less than two months away and players on the European side continue to work toward making captain Luke Donald's team. Checking in on the latest standings update, and there's not been much movement, with the top six (which would be automatic qualifiers) unchanged. In fact, the top 11 on the Euro standings are unchanged from a week ago. The first movement comes with Matt Fitzpatrick (12) and Thomas Detry (13) flipping spots. Rory Mcllroy is the only golfer on the Euro side to have clinched a spot. The rest of the top six will be officially on the team after the DP World Tour's Betfred British Masters in three weeks. The next six will be captain's picks. Alex Noren made the biggest jump this week, going from No. 71 to No. 46 but Aaron Rai goes from No. 16 to No. 14, inching closer to consideration.
