Ronit Roy
has undergone a stunning physical transformation, losing a whopping 8 kgs to embody the persona of the wise and dignified king.
Speaking about the transformation, Ronit Bose Roy said , 'To do justice to a character of such stature and legacy, I knew I had to go beyond just understanding his emotional journey—I had to physically transform myself to embody the strength, discipline, and royal bearing that a king demands. Over the span of two months, I lost 8 kgs through a rigorous and highly disciplined fitness regimen. My days would begin with strength training sessions in the morning, followed by intense cardio workouts in the evening.
Alongside that, I trained extensively in martial arts and stick fighting to capture the warrior aspect of King Someshwar. These weren't just physical drills—they helped me tap into the mindset and spirit of a seasoned ruler and protector of the land. It's been an exhausting but incredibly fulfilling process. The goal was not to just look at the part, but to feel it in every scene. I hope the audience feels the same power and pride that I did while bringing this magnificent character to life."

Also Read: Ronit Roy says he was forced to start security agency due to 'hunger, poverty': 'My life went into gutter, I started drinking' A post shared by Sony Entertainment Television (@sonytvofficial) Talking about his comeback on TV, Ronit Roy said, 'The reason for such a long gap in television is obviously because I do films and OTT as well, and I was busy with my other work. Nothing was interesting. When this came up, the producer is a friend and an old colleague, and I did a show called Adaalat with the channel for five years. Luckily, this wasn't a role where there were too many challenges; only some physical effort was needed to look like a warrior and be able to wield a heavy sword, so I took training for that.' Ronit also discussed how TV content has been going downhill for a while now. 'TV has been in a downward spiral for a very long time now, obviously when new mediums come in, viewership gets divided, and now people's viewing habits have changed. They want to watch content on the go, so traditional TV has been on the decline. We could do a little uptick in the content itself, a time will come where there will be a finite long long-running series of 50-80 episodes where the storyline is clear. The actors will also have a sense of where they are going; when that time comes, it will be a good one,' he said. Confirming that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is indeed returning, Ronit said he has some very fond memories from the show. Talking about his co-star Smriti Irani, Ronit shared, 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is coming back. I wish the makers, cast, and crew of this season all the very best. I have very fond memories attached to this show, Balaji was like home ground for me. It was a game-changer in my career. Smriti is one of my favorite colleagues and is like my little sister. It was a very warm relationship and remains so to date.' On the film front, Ronit will be next seen in Maa alongside Kajol. Talking about the film he said, 'Maa is releasing on 27th of this month, it was an amazing experience to work with Ajay Devgn's production, the icing on the cake was working and spending time with Kajol on the sets. She is a truly amazing human being and an amazing actor, there was lots to learn from her. Her energy levels, her recuperance, and sense of humor are all very lit.' Exclusive- Ronit Roy details the upcoming track of Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, says 'Someshwar is training his son to become a warrior, not to become a king'
Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, television's grand historical epic, continues to captivate audiences with tremendous storytelling, grand visuals, and strong performances. The show recounts the extraordinary journey of one of India's most legendary monarchs. The show recently witnessed a historic moment: King Someshwar's Rajya Abhishek. Ronit Roy exclusively detailed the track with Times Of India TV. Here's what he shared: Ronit quipped, "We know that the elder brother of King Abhijit Nair has passed away, and he's crowned Someshwar, the next king. And, of course, the king's son wanted to be crowned. That's why he killed his father. And that didn't happen. So, the mother, of course, is in cohorts with him, and she wants the son to ascend the throne." He shared details about the upcoming track, "The further drama is that. Now, what will happen? So, in the process, Someshwar is training his son Prithviraj to become a warrior, not to become a king. To become a good ruler and, you know, become a good human being. And, of course, there is always the imminent danger of the Gurids attacking. So, all the drama is being played out over the next week or so." When asked about playing a king on TV, what makes Historical drama different from the daily soap, "So, I mean, it's like playing any other character. It's not much different. And, of course, you know, you feel different because you are wearing clothes that you would not normally wear on a regular day. So, that's the difference. The look is different. The setting is different. But apart from that, playing this character or playing any other character, there is not much difference in terms of building a character. Exclusive - Padmini Kolhapure on Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan: TV and films each come with their own set of dynamics, the medium might vary, but the core of the craft remains the same
Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure is winning hearts with her powerful performance as the dignified Rajmata in the majestic period drama, Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. In an exclusive interview with Times of India TV, the acclaimed actress shared insights about stepping into this iconic role, her experience working in the television space, and the detailed preparation she undertook to portray the character. You already have a remarkable legacy behind you, but how has your experience been working in television? Honestly, it doesn't feel very different. The medium might vary, but the core of the craft remains the same. Television and films each come with their own set of dynamics. For instance, cinema is often called the director's playground, while television is largely actor-driven. But ultimately, it all comes down to performance—whether it's on a small screen or the big one. The scale might differ, but the work is still acting. Television is such a hectic medium. Have you experienced it? I definitely have, many times. Just a few days ago, I had a one-day shoot, and it lasted for 14 hours. But even earlier in my career, I've worked long hours, double shifts, even triple shifts. We've done all of that before. It's intense, but it's not new to us. Still, every time, it feels like a new kind of challenge." You play a mentor, a mother figure — basically, everything rolled into one. What kind of research did you do on your end to prepare for this role? I honestly believe that every working woman who manages a career, marriage, children all of it is a Rajmata in her own right. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your Finger Shape Says a Lot About Your Personality, Read Now Tips and Tricks Undo Seriously though, I did try to understand what that life must have been like. I watched a lot of films on royalty, kings, queens, the regal lifestyle, mainly to grasp the body language and nuances. Although this role didn't require intense method prep, that's just how I am. I naturally like to dig deep into anything I do. If I don't fully understand something, I tend to ask a lot of questions, sometimes nag the director a bit, until I feel confident. And you know, while I was researching, I noticed how my algorithm on social media started showing me content related to Prithviraj Chauhan. There's so much ambiguity around the series made on his life, but clearly, there's interest. Otherwise, they wouldn't be making such shows, right? Continued... He was such a young king, depending on which version you read. Imagine the kind of strength and steel that it took. And it's said his mother, the Rajmata, had a profound influence on him. That really moved me. It's inspiring to portray such layered figures. That's what I love about long-format storytelling. You can really explore the depths of characters, their layers, emotions, motivations. In films, you have to wrap it up in two or three hours, so there's less room for that kind of gives you the space to really live the character. Salman Khan Drops Health Bombshell on National TV
