Paul Sinha, star of ITV's The Chase, has said he almost faced an early death while performing at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Paul, who will be returning to the festival with his show 2 Sinha Lifetime, explained how his outlook on life has changed and inspirations behind his new stand-up routine, reports Nottinghamshire Live.
He shared: "It is a pathos-free exploration of life, how mine nearly came to a premature end thanks to owning a diseased Bengali heart, and how that has provided me with new perspectives. And songs.
In the same recent interview with The Times, the 55-year-old said he has also given his funeral song "a lot of thought", and is fond of the idea of Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space, by Spiritualized, being played.
"I can't abide the thought that my friends wouldn't be weeping, and this track should just about do the trick," he revealed.
Paul's comments come ahead of his return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the event where he sadly suffered two heart attacks in 2023. A former GP himself, he recognised how serious his "crushing, tightening chest pain" was and took himself to hospital.
Reflecting on his ordeal on Good Morning Britain last month, he admitted that he didn't call an ambulance at the time as he didn't want to cause a scene. Instead, he quietly left the crowd and took himself to hospital in a taxi.

After suffering from the same ordeal again, doctors informed him that he had suffered "two small heart attacks". Paul said despite this, he decided to return to the event, though later expressed some regret about doing so.
"So, I carried on. But looking back on it, that's not the right thing to do," he added.
The Chaser also has Parkinson's disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2019. In a detailed account of his health journey shared via a blog post, he explained: "It was a devastating denouement to a medical odyssey that began in September 2017 with a sudden-onset, frozen right shoulder, and took in an unexpected diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes, a lifestyle transformation that enabled me to lose two stone, and a shoulder operation in January this year."
He added: "With the diagnosis now confirmed, and a treatment plan in place, I now feel far more prepared for the new challenges ahead."

Discussing his condition on Loose Women back in April, he said "there were surprise symptoms" that came with his Parkinson's.
"Everyone thinks you shake. That's the one thing people know about Parkinson's," he shared.
"I presented one morning with a stiff painful right shoulder. I'd never had a stiff joint before."
Sharing how it has affected him, he added: "My thing is slowness. Things take time. I've got to sit down on a bed to put my trousers on. This is a new thing for me."
According to the NHS, the main symptoms of Parkinson's disease are: Involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body (tremor), slow movement, stiff and inflexible muscles. If you have any concerns about symptoms, it's advised to seek guidance from your GP.

Coronation Street airs telling scene as Swarla's future 'revealed' amid bombshell

Carla Connor seemed to come one step closer to uncovering Lisa Swain's late wife Becky's past on Friday's episode of Coronation Street as her future with the policewoman became clear Carla Connor seemed to be one step closer to uncovering the truth about Becky Swain on Friday's episode of Coronation Street. The Underworld boss, played by Alison King, has been dating Weatherfield detective Lisa Swain for just under a year now, but it has become apparent over that time that there is still a lot to come to light. ‌ As viewers will know, before she made her first appearance on the ITV soap, Lisa was married to Becky and they had daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) together. But Becky, also a police officer, was killed in the line of duty when she was hit by a car. ‌ The circumstances surrounding her death have never been fully disclosed, although it is known that the car was being driven by the brothers of Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), who was stabbed to by his brother Logan (Harry Lowbridge) death earlier this year. Determined to uncover more, Carla took it upon herself to visit Logan in prison and she managed to extract a kernel of information out of him, even though he seemed unwilling to talk when she first arrived. ‌ He told her: "So what happens next? I tell you everything and then I never hear from you again? It's not gonna happen. Money first, then I talk. You cough up, and then I'll cough up." A desperate Carla tried to reason with Logan, as she told him how the whole situation was 'killing' Lisa. Logan asked Carla for £10,000 but she refused and then he let slip the name: "Tia Wardley," as he added: "You can have that one for free. Anything else, you know the price." ‌ While all this was going on, Lisa, already reeling as today would have been her and Becky's wedding anniversary, left her counselling session and immediately hacked into her DI Costello's (Daon Broni) email to see what sort of information she can find for herself over her late wife's death. She was shocked to discover that PC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) had already been on the case, but before she could process that, she was caught by DI Costello himself. She begged: "I have to know what you had on Becky, was she corrupt or not? She was my wife and I'm starting to feel like I didn't even know her!" Lisa's superior threatened her with the sack for reading his emails, but she was undeterred as she insisted that she has a "right to know" more about Becky's death, especially when she was being investigated for something at the time of her death. In the end, Costello tried to throw her off the scent by warning her: "It was a misunderstanding, simple as. I won't take this further, but you need to drop it. Leave the past in the past!" ‌ Lisa then coolly slid into the pub to confront Kit, telling him: "My gut said it all along. 'He's a wrong'un Lisa, you can't trust a word he says.' I know what you've done. I saw it in black-and-white. You e-mailed Costello asking to see Becky's files. Why are you so obsessed with my wife?" Kit tried to explain that he had been told to drop it and wasn't prepared to lose his job over the matter, but Lisa quickly branded him a 'liar and a snake' before adding: "You put so much as a toe out of line then I will come crashing down on you, DC Green. I mean it!" And back at the factory, Carla was unable to keep her mind off Tia Wardley. Eventually, she opened her laptop to throw the name into a search engine, but seemed confused when the only results that came back focused on a American sports star, who had retired after she sustained multiple injuries in a cycling accident, and a local lollipop lady with the same name who had retired. Unable to suss things out, Carla closed her laptop and seemed to forget all about it. But things started to come to a head at home later when Lisa asked to borrow Carla's laptop, and immediately spotted her search history. Carla confessed that she had been to visit Logan, and that is how she had become aware of the name Tia Wardley. She told her: "You need answers, I thought I may be able to help", but seemingly brushing everything off, Lisa replied: "And this, Tia Wardley, is it? She's going to help?" Carla then claimed that Logan had probably just been making things up, but things took a concerning turn in the next scene when an inmate walked into Logan's cell and said: "You've been a chatty boy today, haven't you?" and slammed the door. In the end, Lisa decided to commit her future to Carla as she removed her wedding ring and said: "I want to build a life with you, in the house that we bought together. Matching bathrobes, everything. I'm all yours!"

I visited the English theme park that's launched first-ever overnight stays – with new safari lodges and glamping tents

THE Cornish drizzle had set in upon arrival at our 'safari lodge' but nothing was going to dampen our spirits. After all, this wasn't just any accommodation — we had a theme park as our back garden. 5 5 5 Family favourite Camel Creek has welcomed visitors to its award-winning adventure park near Padstow since 1989, but until now, the fun always had to end at closing time. Following a £1million investment, this beloved Cornwall attraction now welcomes guests overnight with the launch of Camel Creek Camping & Glamping. And my 11-year-old daughter Lexi, husband Paul and I were among the first families to experience it. The site offers grass, hard-standing, and all-weather touring pitches plus luxurious glamping options including bell tents and safari lodges. The whole area has been beautifully landscaped: Think lots of twinkling lights, greenery and space. Our safari lodge, aptly named Sunset, overlooked West Country farmland stretching to the horizon. More importantly, it was just a two-minute walk from more than 40 thrilling rides and attractions. Despite being a sophisticated tent rather than a solid building, the lodge was surprisingly spacious — big enough to sleep nine — though smaller family safari tents sleeping up to four are also available. And it came with a private deck, en-suite bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. We were amazed by the luxury touches: Super-soft linens, quality towels and proper kitchen utensils that made it feel like a premium hotel under canvas. The seaside town of Newlyn in Cornwall has been dubbed as one of the 'coolest' places to relocate Luckily for us, Camel Creek is a fantastic day out no matter what the weather, as many of the rides and attractions are under cover. The park boasts more than 45,000sq ft of indoor play areas, ensuring families can enjoy themselves even on rainy days. Key covered attractions include the newly designed Hidden Garden indoor play and cafe, Creeky's Playhouse (an indoor soft play area), the 5D Theatre with moving seats and 3D glasses and various animal encounters housed in indoor facilities like the reptile house. The water rides are probably the best for adrenaline junkies — and those who don't mind getting wet, which Lexi didn't. As it was quiet due to the weather, she went on her favourite water ride Thunder Falls, six times in a row — drenched, yet in high spirits, by the time she got off. Luckily a hot shower was only moments away. Merlin's Magical Playground is ideal for younger children, and home to a ball pit and slides. Leopard cats Animal lovers will enjoy the meerkats, pets corner and the reptile house. And new for this year are owls and leopard cats. My favourite ride was Raging Rivers, water slides you bomb down. The climb up is a bit arduous, but it's worth the effort. Standing more than 20ft above the ground, it offers two different slide experiences — a long bumpy ride or an almost vertical-drop smooth ride that will leave your heart racing. After a few hours in the park, we headed back to our lodge to dry off then ventured out to the on-site restaurant. There is also a shop selling basic provisions if you want to cook. If it had been warm enough, we would have fired up the barbecue that came with our safari lodge set-up. Another time. The flexibility of having both indoor dining options and the ability to self-cater made our stay incredibly convenient, especially with unpredictable weather. After an action-packed day we were happy to retire to our lodge. The insulation and heating worked brilliantly, making the lodge surprisingly warm and cosy. It was hard to believe we were under canvas. Although the wind whipped up a little, we all slept well and stayed warm enough during the night. The next day, we had a couple more hours in the park. Arriving as it opened, we were delighted to be among the first on many of the rides. We loved our night of glamping at Camel Creek, even with the typical British weather doing its worst. With its mix of indoor attractions and cosy canvas accommodation, rain or shine, it's fantastic family fun. 5 5

Despite this, the pair found themselves in an argument after the challenge. The boys had to answer which girl they'd couple up with - if their actual partner wasn't in the villa. Meg was left shocked when Dejon picked Yasmin, despite recent tensions with her, Shakira and Toni. The couple bickered as Dejon insisted he'd told Meg this before - but his girlfriend argued she didn't remember the conversation. In a first-look at tonight's instalment, it would appear they are still feuding. Speaking to Conor, Meg shares: "I'm not just gonna stand there. He's put Yas on a board again. "I take so much heat from these three girls. You've put on a board that you would recouple with Yas." Conor then interjected, saying Dejon "may have taken the question too literal". Meg added: "It's a challenge, I don't care about it. Love Island fans 'work out' why Dejon turned on Meg as villa's strongest couple hit the rocks days before final "At the end of the day, we're boyfriend and girlfriend. It doesn't matter." Dejon then approached, remarking: "You're going to stop talking as I'm walking past?" Hearing this, Meg repeated to her boyfriend what she'd just told Conor. She then continued: "He just gets so defensive over everything." Later on, the couple are sat together as Meg says: "I had a little chat with Yas. "Obviously, I don't know whether you know from the boys, but she wrote your name on the board yesterday. LOVE ISLAND 2025 - ALL the dumped stars so far LOVE Island 2025 is in its penultimate week.
