Elden Ring Nightreign tier list: Who's the best Nightfarer to pick for Limveld?

Time of India30-05-2025
Choosing a Nightfarer in Elden Ring: Nightreign should be simple. Pick the one that fits your playstyle, head into Limveld, and enjoy the chaos. That's what most players expect. But after spending hours playing with each character, it turns out the balance is not as equal as it first seems.
Some characters feel stronger across the board. Whether it's about better skills, easier movement, or stronger damage output against Nightlords, there are clear standouts. Ironeye, for example, feels like a step above the rest thanks to his range and staggering power. Then there's Duchess, who completely changes boss fights with her repeat skills. Of course, every Nightfarer still brings something useful to the party, but a few are just better designed for Nightreign's toughest moments.
For players just starting out or trying to build the strongest team, this tier list breaks down where each Nightfarer stands. From the best to the ones that might need some buffs, here's how the Nightreign roster stacks up.

Ironeye
Ironeye is the top pick in Nightreign. The archer's strength becomes clear during boss fights where melee characters often struggle to reach flying or mobile enemies. His Marking dash adds extra damage for the team and works well as a dodge. His Single Shot ability also hits hard, staggers bosses, and wipes out smaller enemies in one go. With these skills and his consistent ranged output, Ironeye stands out as the strongest Nightfarer, especially in co-op runs.
Duchess Duchess is a support character that turns tricky moments into wins. Her Restage skill lets her repeat big damage or staggers from teammates, and her fast cooldown means it can be used often. She also helps with revives using her invisibility-based ultimate, Finale, making her one of the most valuable team picks. Her low health is covered by a special dodge, so she can stay alive while making everyone else stronger. Players do need to unlock her first.

Raider Raider brings pure strength to the team. His Retaliate skill lets him tank hits and then deliver a massive uppercut. While his rock summon is a bit clunky, his big weapons and ability to break enemy stance make him perfect for aggressive solo runs. He's not the flashiest, but Raider always gets the job done.
Wylder Wylder is the all-rounder. He's strong, has enough dexterity to use lighter weapons, and comes with a grappling hook that makes him great at closing gaps. His ultimate deals high stagger damage and also makes him invulnerable while using it. This gives players a solid revival option when things go wrong. Wylder doesn't shine in one area but is reliable in almost every situation.
Executor Executor looks amazing on paper. His Cursed Sword skill gives him a generous parry window and his ultimate hits hard and stuns many bosses. The bleed damage from his high arcane stat is also strong. But Nightreign's fast-paced fights don't always work in his favour. He struggles when swarmed or forced to chase enemies. In groups with a strong Ironeye, he often feels slow and left behind. Still, with the right weapon, he remains a solid choice.

Revenant Revenant can summon skeleton allies that take hits and revive teammates. Her ultimate makes friends temporarily immortal, which is great for clutch revives. But she needs killing blows to summon minions, and that puts her in danger, especially with her low health. She also struggles in Nightlord fights where there are no enemies to convert. Once Duchess is unlocked, Revenant becomes less important in most team builds.
Recluse Recluse is a powerful mage when supported by the right teammates. She needs elemental affinities from allies to cast her strongest spells, but if players don't coordinate, her main kit falls flat. She also needs those spells to recharge her FP, making her even more reliant on others. Her ultimate does help by letting players regain HP and FP when hitting marked enemies, but she's risky to use in random groups or solo play.

Sony acquires stake in Bandai Namco, the company behind Pac-Man and Elden Ring: What it means

Sony is the brand behind PS5 and PlayStation at large, and has been making games for several decades. Over the years, Sony has invested heavily in other studios and publishers, and now the company has taken yet another step by investing in Bandai Namco. This is the same publisher behind games such as Pac-Man, Tekken, and recent classics like Elden Ring (made by From Software). Sony's headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.(Reuters) Sony announced this via a press release, describing it as a strategic partnership between Bandai Namco and Sony. As part of the deal, it has acquired 16 million Bandai Namco shares for approximately 68 billion yen, which works to around $464 million. Notably, this is not Sony's only recent strategic investment. The company has recently invested in several other domains, including an investment in FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa, after which the company acquired a 10% stake for approximately $300 million. Here is what Sony and Bandai Namco had to say "Through this business alliance and Sony's investment in Bandai Namco, as two of the leading Japanese entertainment companies, Bandai Namco and Sony will focus on expanding the fan community for IP such as anime and manga around the world and strengthening engagement, particularly in the anime field where rapid market growth is anticipated, while merging their strengths to create new and emotionally moving experiences for fans, and as a result of these efforts maximize the value of IP,' Sony said in a press release. Sony added, 'Bandai Namco and Sony have historically collaborated on various projects in the fields such as games, anime and music, and they plan to extend this collaboration to a broader range of areas. The two companies intend to implement initiatives including the expansion of works as well as products and services based on IP developed by Bandai Namco, leveraging Sony's strengths in areas such as the production and distribution of anime and other video content, as well as merchandising.' Bandai Namco's Nobuhiko Momoi said, 'The Bandai Namco Group promotes an 'IP axis strategy; that aims to maximize IP value by leveraging the appeal and worldview of IP, providing the optimal products and services at the optimal timing in the optimal regions. Momoi also added that Bandai Namco is "filled with excitement about the potential to create new entertainment by combining Sony Group's strengths and technological capabilities across various entertainment fields with Bandai Namco's IP axis strategy. Through this collaboration, we aim to connect with IP fans worldwide, co-create the future together, and realize our Purpose, 'Fun for All into the Future,' and Mid- to Long-term Vision, 'Connect with Fans.'' Four new Everdark Sovereigns arrive in Elden Ring Nightreign: Details here

Japanese video game developer FormSoftware has introduced a fresh batch of enhanced boss fights for Elden Ring: Nightreign players. Earlier last month, Elden Ring: Nightreign introduced tougher fights with the 'Everdark Sovereigns,' which are more difficult versions of the game's Nightlord foes that they usually face to conclude a run. Now, building on that, a new batch of challenging fights has been introduced. Players can now expect four new Everdark Sovereigns – Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog – to join the fighting roster. Why does it matter Each Sovereign version features new attack patterns and greater difficulty, presenting a steeper challenge for players seeking high-stakes fights. Victories yield Sovereign Sigils, which can be exchanged for special Relics and other in-game rewards. Beating a Sovereign for the first time grants additional Sigils. Each of the four bosses already has notable mechanics in their base forms, and their upgraded versions are expected to push players even harder. Only players who have defeated a Nightlord's original form will be eligible to face its Everdark Sovereign variant. These battles are exclusive to online mode, but can be played solo as long as the player is connected to the servers. Once the limited-time window closes, the boss disappears from Expeditions, at least temporarily. The publisher of the game – Bandai Namco – has not confirmed whether this ongoing rollout will lead to a larger expansion or additional DLC. What is Elden Ring Nightreign Elden Ring: Nightreign is a standalone roguelike spin-off developed by FromSoftware for consoles and PCs. Set in Limveld, an alternate, procedurally generated version of Limgrave, it shifts from open-world exploration to a session-based experience where up to three players team up as Nightfarers, progressing through randomised maps and defeating Nightlord bosses across intense three-day cycles. The game blends familiar Soulsborne combat with roguelike mechanics and a 'shrinking zone' similar to battle royale, creating faster, more focused runs. While it supports solo play, Nightreign is primarily designed for co-op teamwork—challenging players to adapt, survive, and secure rewards before restarting in each expedition.

Kate Middleton's trusted aide quits, then unfollows Meghan Markle online, stirring new talk of a royal rift

Natasha Archer has been by the Princess of Wales's side since 2010. She selected outfits for overseas tours, was even on hand at the hospital for royal baby photo calls, ready with spare outfits and supplies and was promoted to Senior Private Executive Assistant in 2022. Last week Kensington Palace confirmed Archer, now 37, is leaving to start a private 'luxury consultancy.' Soon after the news broke, Archer switched her long-private Instagram profile to public. Royal watchers noticed two quick moves. She stopped following Meghan Markle , the Duchess's lifestyle label As Ever, and several friends in Meghan's circle, including makeup artist Daniel Martin and polo player Delfina Blaquier. The timing set off fresh speculation because the royal family is quietly trying to ease tensions with the Sussexes. Palace sources say aides for King Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex held an informal meeting in London this month to explore next steps toward better relations. Prince William's team did not attend, leaving doubts about how far any thaw can go. Commentators see Archer's 'unfollow' spree as a public hint that fences remain unmended. The Blast, citing insider chatter, called the move a 'controversial stunt' that risks undercutting reconciliation plans said to be backed by Princess Kate herself. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Paras Sector 59 Gurgaon | Paras Floret Low-Rise Flats Paras The Florett Book Now Undo People who have worked with Archer stress her loyalty to the Wales household. She received the Royal Victorian Order in 2019 for personal service and is married to royal photographer Chris Jackson. Friends say her new consultancy will advise private clients on travel logistics and event styling, skills honed during fifteen years on royal duty. Neither Kensington Palace nor the Sussex office has commented on the social-media changes. Online, opinions split quickly. Some see the unfollows as a harmless reset before Archer's career move. Others view them as a subtle show of support for Kate during a sensitive phase in family diplomacy. What happens next will likely unfold off camera. Kate is said to be focused on her children's summer break and on a fuller return to public engagements later in the year. Meghan remains in California, preparing for new launches under her As Ever brand. Behind the scenes, advisers on both sides are expected to keep talking, while Archer steps into private life with new clients and fewer royal handles in her feed. For royal watchers, the small click of an unfollow button has added one more twist to a story that shows no sign of fading from the spotlight.
