Celtic's connection to the band that hails from Manchester goes back several years.
Indeed, Noel visited Parkhead for a Celtic vs Rangers game in 2000 that turned out to be iconic, with the hosts running out emphatic 6-2 victors.
Speaking about that day, Noel said [football.sportingmemories.net]: "The greatest thing I've ever seen was before the 6-2 match.
"I was having a drink and this guy came up and said, 'You better go and sit in your seat, son, something special is about to happen'.
"As I walked into the stadium, 'Roll With It' came out of the PA.
"They stopped it halfway, and the fans stood up and began to sing it.
"I'm glad I got the chance to see Henrik Larsson score against Rangers when he looked especially cool with the dreadlocks.
"My other favourite Celtic player was Kenny Dalglish.
"He was just a phenomenal footballer.
"He had the haircut, the big sideboards, the big collared shirts and the number on the shorts.
"I also liked Charlie Nicholas."

Window Watch: Rangers on brink of £5m deal for Thelo Aasgaard as Scottish top-flight trio bolster ranks
Rangers are edging closer to securing a deal for Luton Town midfielder Thelo Aasgaard. As Mail Sport exclusively revealed this week, the Norwegian is the next name on new manager Russell Martin's most-wanted list as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of this month's crucial Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos. Aasgaard was a standout under former Celtic star Shaun Maloney at Wigan before sealing a move to Kenilworth Road in January. But despite starting every game in the Championship during the second half of last season, the 23-year-old's dynamic performances weren't enough to keep his side in the division. The highly-rated Norway international is now expected to undergo a medical ahead of putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at Ibrox, with the fee reportedly in the region of £4-5million. Martin has already added Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez to the Rangers ranks since taking charge last month, with former Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron also part of the new setup having signed a pre-contract. Manchester United stars banned from Carrington Manchester United have told five unsettled stars to stay away from the training ground when the rest of their squad report for pre-season at Carrington on Monday. United sources say the decision to delay the return of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia is because they want to leave the club and now have more time to explore a move. Stryjek completes Killie move Max Stryjek has credited new Kilmarnock boss Stuart Kettlewell as the 'main factor' in his decision to return to Scotland. The 28-year-old former Livingston goalkeeper has joined the Rugby Park club from Polish outfit Jagiellonia Bialystok on a one-year deal, and can't wait to get started. 'I want to do well, help the team get results and I'm really happy that I'm joining Kilmarnock,' he told club media. 'I was actually on holiday when he [Kettlewell] first called me and I was really impressed by his personality, his ambition and everything. 'He seemed like a really good person and I really liked his approach and professionalism. That was probably the main factor in deciding to join Kilmarnock.' Kettlewell said: 'Max is one I've been aware of for a while, especially with him playing in Scotland before, we know his qualities. He adds to the already competitive squad and we are sure that he can be a solid addition to our goalkeepers.' Dario arrives at Dundee United Dario Naamo believes Dundee United is the perfect place for him to take his game to new levels after signing on loan for the season ahead. The 20-year-old Finn has joined from Austrian second-tier side SKN St Pölten in a deal which also includes an option to buy. The wing-back has just returned from representing his country at the Under-21s European Championships in Slovakia. He told the club's website: 'I'm very excited for it. I've just had a look at the amazing stadium. 'I think Scotland is a very good place for me to develop as a player, and I think it was the right step for me.' Hay reunites with Pressley at Dens Park Dundee have announced the signing of striker Ashley Hay on a two-year deal from Brentford. The 21-year-old worked under Dark Blues head coach Steven Pressley at the Bees, and made 23 first-team appearances on loan at Cheltenham in League Two last season.

Noel and Liam Gallagher hold hands in historic moment as Oasis tour kicks off
The guns have fallen silent, and the wait is officially over—Oasis is back. Once-feuding brothers Noel, 58, Liam Gallagher, 52, last performed together in 2009, and no one has been in any doubt about the frosty relationship between them since the band split. But now, after 16 years of both private rows and public mudslinging—and for the sake of taking home a reported £50million each—the siblings have called a truce. Tonight, they walked out to a roaring, sold-out crowd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, to kick off their hotly anticipated reunion tour, which was announced last August. Bang on 8:15pm, Noel and Liam launched into their tune Hello, which seems a rather apt opener. After this, they went into Acquiesce, which originally appeared as the B-side to Oasis' first number-one single, Some Might Say, in 1995. It was also the opener that many predicted when set lists seemingly leaked just days ago ahead of the gig to 74,500 adoring fans. The brothers swaggered out on stage in their usual attire—Liam in his coat and Noel in a denim shirt—following a video displaying numerous headlines about their feud and subsequent reconciliation. 'This is not a drill,' also appeared on the screen in giant letters, with the crowd—decked out in bucket hats, shades, and Oasis merch—sending cups flying by jumping in the air once the Britpop band appeared. Before their third song, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? Liam said on the mic: 'Hello, people, it's been too long.' 'It's good to be back, good to be back,' he added, then shouting: 'Yes, beautiful people!' Noel and Liam appear to want to keep their distance for much of the night, which follows rumours that they barely rehearsed together in the lead-up to the inaugural show. Danny Dyer and Vicky McClure lead the way as Oasis reunite after 16 years
A string of famous faces have been spotted at Oasis' first reunion gig in Cardiff, the first time the brothers have been seen together on stage in 16 years A string of famous faces are in the crowds as Oasis reunites after 16 years. Tonight's gig in Cardiff marks over a decade since Noel and Liam Gallagher performed with one another. The band were seen walking to the stage with their song 'F**king in the Bushes' before they then started performing their song 'Hello'. The crowd welcomed them with cheers at the sold out gig. In the audience was the likes of EastEnders star Danny Dyer as well as Line Of Duty actress Vicky McClure. Vernon Kay also posed for pictures outside Principality Stadium. "Hey, beautiful people, it's been too long," Liam told the crowd, which has also included the likes of Glastonbury founder Emily Eavis as well as Dominic Mohan and Andy Goldstein. Click here for the Mirror's live updates on the Oasis tour. Meg Mathews - Noel's ex-wife - was also spotted at the gig, The Mirror can exclusively reveal. Noel and Meg's daughter Anais was also seen at the venue. Earlier today, Meg shared a string of snaps of her and Noel, writing alongside it: "TODAY IS THE DAY 4th July 2025 Finally here ….OASIS REUNION TOUR, Britpop was a British music and cultural movement that peaked in the mid-1990s, characterized by a revival of British guitar pop from the 1960s and 1970s, in contrast to American grunge. "It was not just a genre, but a reactionary and patriotic cultural response, celebrating British identity, working-class roots, and everyday life. To everyone who's there when they walk on the stage at 8.15pm will be a piece of history." Referencing the photo, she added: "That night was a lot of fun can't remember what after party gig it was .. back then there was always one which I was in charge of organising through @creationrecords money and fun had no limit back then." Meg had recently been forced to deny they were back together after she posted snaps of them kissing. During a 2020 interview with the Irish Mirror, Meg admitted she used to get terrible PTSD. She said: "I came through the marriage. Everything was public. At the end of the day I did not have the cog or the PR world that that person (Noel) had. "I was just the ex-wife. I had nobody. I didn't know what to do. I didn't have a press agent, wasn't famous, I just had a daughter. I used to get terrible PTSD. In 1997 I was the third most written about woman. It was Lady Diana, The Spice Girls and me." For those fans hoping to get a last minute ticket to Oasis' reunion gigs, the band are set to release a few final tickets. In a statement, they said: "As the shows are getting closer, Oasis promoters may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets for sale once final sight lines are checked and the production is fine tuned. These final production releases will happen over the coming days."
