Alabama among finalists for 2026 4-star tight end, former SEC commit
Announced on Friday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide were one-of-three programs mentioned as finalists for 2026 tight end prospect Xavier Tiller.
In addition to the Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers and Florida State Seminoles are also among the finalists for Tiller. Tiller has also set official visits to all three finalists, with Alabama's set to take place May 30.
According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Tiller is considered as the nation's No. 206 overall player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 10 tight end. A four-star prospect, Tiller is also ranked as the No. 25 player in the state of Georgia where he attends Langston Hughes High School.
Tiller is also a former Texas A&M commit, as the tight end was previously committed to the Aggies from Nov. 2024 through Feb. 2025.
Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently has five players committed. Of those five, none are tight ends.

Where Oregon's 2027 class ranks nationally after addition of 5-star WR Kesean Bowman

While there is major focus on the 2026 recruiting class as we hurdle towards the start of the season and the looming signing day in December, Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks landed a massive win in the 2027 recruiting cycle earlier this week. On Thursday, it was announced that 5-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman announced his commitment to Oregon, choosing the Ducks over the likes of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Tennessee Volunteers, and LSU Tigers. Bowman stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, and is rated as the No. 36 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 6 wide receiver. With the addition of Bowman, Oregon's 2027 class jumped up to No. 7 in the nation. Bowman is the second commitment that the Ducks have in the 2027 cycle, but they saw 4-star EDGE Prince Tavizon reclassify from 2027 to 2026 earlier this summer. The addition of Bowman is another massive win for new wide receivers coach Ross Douglas, who is killing it on the recruiting trail. Earlier this summer, he landed 4-star WR Messiah Hampton and 4-star WR Jalen Lott, both of whom are among the top receivers in the 2026 class. Top Michigan Wolverines 2026 target, five-star Savion Hiter, sets commitment date

Michigan football has been on fire when it comes to assembling the 2026 recruiting class, but the biggest fish is still out to sea. The Wolverines have made no secret that there's one target they covet more than any other, and that's Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star running back Savion Hiter. Hiter has appeared to be a Michigan lean, but Tennessee, in particular, has come on strong in recent months. Ohio State and Georgia also remain in the picture. It's been something of a wait, as Hiter didn't even have a commitment date. But now we know when he'll make a decision, as he announced, via Hayes Fawcett, that he'll be making his college choice on August 19. The Wolverines do have one running back committed in Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis de Sales three-star Jonathan Brown, who self-admittedly noted that he's a bit of a project. Hiter is the type who can come in and make an instant impact, even as a true freshman. Here's his scouting report via 247Sports: Juiced-up running back with star potential for a College Football Playoff contender given the mix of his burst, power, agility, balance and vision. Has dominated the combine setting (1.52 10-yard split, 4.12 shuttle, 36-inch vertical jump) and is equipped with ready-to-play mass as he's already tipping the scales at 200 pounds. Effective as both an inside and outside runner as he's quick to chart a course and charge forward. Fast feet allow him to side-step trouble as he frequently dances around would-be tacklers in the backfield and turns negative plays into positive plays. Core strength and a lower pad level routinely negate arm tackles while full-speed cuts make it even harder for defenders to get him on the ground, especially when he breaks through the first wave of obstacles. Hasn't caught a ton of passes at the prep level, but has proven to be a tricky cover at offseason camps and looks to have true three-down potential as his physicality will only continue to give him an advantage in pass protection. Overall, should be viewed as a gifted ball carrier that can be a multi-year impact player on Saturdays and provide valuable minutes as early as Year 1. Must avoid setbacks and remain hungry, but profiles as a future NFL Draft pick with his size, testing and feel for the position. Hiter is rated as the No. 9 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, regardless of position. He's made it to Ann Arbor multiple times and has a strong relationship with running backs coach Tony Alford. The Vols remain the primary threat.

4-star QB Teddy Jarrard announces commitment

Four-star quarterback recruit Teddy Jarrard has committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions. Jarrard is Notre Dame's third commitment in the class of 2027. The Fighting Irish have the No. 11 recruiting class in the 2027 cycle, but we're still over a year away from the early signing period for 2027 recruits. Jarrard plays both high school football and baseball. In 2025, he transferred to North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia, from North Cobb Christian. Jarrard is the second-ranked quarterback in Georgia in the class of 2027 behind only Lowndes QB Jayce Johnson. Jarrard has a big arm and is capable of connecting on deep passes. He is more of a pocket passer, but will extend plays to give his receivers more time to get open. He does a good job of keeping his eye downfield when scrambling. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound passer has tough and layers throws. He does not always fire bullet passes to his receivers. The North Cobb star is the No. 162 prospect in the nation and the No. 14 QB, per the 247Sports Composite. Jarrard is the No. 23 recruit in Georgia and has steadily risen in the recruiting rankings. The new Notre Dame commit is the No. 52 player in the country and the second ranked quarterback in the Rivals300. In 2024, Jarrard was named as the offensive player of the year with North Cobb Christian and helped his team go 11-2. He totaled 2,783 passing yards and 34 touchdowns in 2024. He also completed an impressive 72% of his passes, which showcases his accuracy.
