A BEACHFRONT theme park is set to open a new log flume ride for the first time in decades.
Dreamland in Margate is one of the UK's oldest theme parks, dating back to the 1880s.

Becoming the current Dreamland in 1920, it was forced to close a number a number of times, only to be shut for good in 2005.
Yet it reopened in 2015 after a huge £25million renovations which has seen a number of new rides and attractions.
And one of the newest rides opening this year is the Log Flume.
The theme park once had the water ride more than 25 years ago, only to close the ride and sell it off.
However, it is set to reopen at the theme park.
The park's operation manager Jack King said: "Anyone that works in the attractions industry or is an avid fan of all things Theme Park will appreciate the dying breed that is a UK based classic Log Flume.
"It is with absolute pride to see the installation of our new classic Reverchon Log Flume.
"It is so exciting to actually say Dreamland Margate will be opening its first Log Flume in about 25 years."
An official opening date for the ride is yet to be confirmed.
In the mean time, you can also ride the Scenic Railway, one of the oldest wooden rollercoasters in the UK.

The Big Wheel, Pirate Ship, Dodgems and Rock 'N' Roller roller coaster are some other rides at the park.
Inside there is a huge roller rick and arcade as well.
And the theme park also runs a number of live music events, with big name acts this year include Haim, Tom Jones, McFly, Dizzee Rascal and Billy Ocean.
The theme park is free to visit, although they introduced new rider wristbands this year.
The £24.99 all-day wristbands give guests unlimited access to the rides.
Some even said Dreamland once rivalled Disneyland.
Chris Britcher, who grew up in Kent, told local media: "The early eighties was a time when the ultimate holiday seemed to be a mortgage-busting ticket to Florida and the Disney parks.
"But to me, as enticing as some of the rides across the pond seemed, Disney's saccharine brand was enough to make Dreamland, the theme park formerly known, temporarily, as Bembom Brothers, appear to have their beating at every level.
"This was British charm, soaked in temperamental British sunshine and with good old British grit and grime thrown in.

Ncuti Gatwa confesses one huge regret about Doctor Who role
Ncuti Gatwa exited his role as the 15th doctor earlier this year after just two years in the coveted role. Ncuti Gatwa has confessed his biggest regret on Doctor Who, two months after his two-season run in the iconic role came to an end. The Sex Education star secured the part of the 15th doctor in the beloved BBC sci-fi show but decided to walk away after just 18 months amid low viewing figures and a lack of hype around the series. The 32-year-old claimed he was leaving Doctor Who because he was 'getting old'. Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg, he said: "My body was tired. It takes a lot out of you. Physically, emotionally, mentally. It was time." The Rwandan-Scottish actor also admitted that he has some regrets about his time in the coveted role. On Wednesday's episode of The One Show, when quizzed by Alex Jones, he confessed he wishes he could have met the Doctor's most insidious enemies. He said: "I never got to fight a Dalek or a Cyberman. Just the crux of Doctor Who. Yeah, so… Might do that… Might go fight a Dalek". In the final episode of Doctor Who, which was aired on May 31 by Disney and the BBC, fans were left gobsmacked after Ncuti regenerated into an unexpected form that no one saw coming. The 15th doctor transformed into Billie Piper, who played the Doctor's assistant Rose Tyler between 2005 and 2010 alongside David Tennant. Whether she is the 16th Doctor or not has not been confirmed, the Metro reports. In a press release after the regeneration, the BBC said: "Just how and why she [Billie Piper] is back remains to be seen…" Billie teased that fans would just have to "wait and see" what she does next. Many noted that in the credits for the final episode, The Reality War, where Billie made the unexpected return, the actress was not credited as the Doctor as in all other cases, but simply: 'Introducing Billie Piper'. So it could be possible that Billie is returning in a smaller capacity. She told The Independent in 2024: "I wouldn't go back as a full-time thing, but I'd love to make another appearance." Meanwhile, in a statement announcing his exit, Ncuti - who is the first Doctor since Christopher Eccleston to act in fewer than three seasons - said: "You know when you get cast, at some point you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it." He added: "There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe." Gatwa thanked fans for making it a 'touching experience', adding: '"I've loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have. "'ll truly miss it, and forever be grateful to it, and everyone that has played a part in my journey as the Doctor." Ncuti made it known he was keen to fight a Dalek as he previously told Entertainment Weekly early doors: "What on earth would be the point of me being Doctor Who if I never fight the Daleks?" While the next series of Doctor Who has not officially been confirmed, it's been reported that the BBC will continue on with the series regardless of whether Disney are up for future collaborations or not. This came after rumours that Disney could be withdrawing its partnership due to low viewing figures. However, fans will be reassured to know that showrunner Russell T Davies has reportedly already planned the next two seasons, with scripts for season 16 almost finished and the 17th season in the works. Jeremy Clarkson 'forced to cull farm's cows' after devastating disease outbreak
Jeremy Clarkson has told followers he's 'absolutely devastated' after learning they have a case of bovine tuberculosis on Diddly Squat farm. Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is one of the biggest challenges facing the cattle farming industry in the UK and all infected animals have to be put down. The former Top Gear presenter, 65, shared news that the infectious disease had been detected in his cattle, in a post to X on Thursday (July 31). 'Bad news from Diddly Squat,' Clarkson wrote. 'We've gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.' When Clarkson clarified that by TB he meant bTB, @knox_ryder77 replied saying they hoped the cows recovered soon. Clarkson then explained: 'They have to be culled. It's the law.' Meanwhile, @robjohnsonrj1 shared their commiserations in the comments sections, writing: 'Been in that situation in the past! Devastating as the heard could well have to be culled. Feel for you JC let's hope the offending beast can be quarantined and culled.' Clarkson replied to share that the 'offending animal' that had tested positive for TB was pregnant with twins. When a follower asked after Endgame, an Aberdeen Angus bull that Clarkson bought in his Amazon Prime show Clarkson's Farm, the TV presenter said the cow's test had been 'inconclusive'. He added: 'I couldn't bear it if we lost him.' Clarkson had previously saved Pepper the cow from being sent off to an abbatoir, after initially going back on a promise he made to care for her to Rosie, the five-year-old daughter of Pepper's former owner. The TV presenter turned famed farmer and his partner Lisa Hogan were then left heartbroken when a group of piglets on the farm suddenly died. Speaking to and other press, Clarkson shared: 'You don't say, 'Let's buy some pigs and hope they die,' I've always liked pigs.' Under British law, animals with bTB have to be put down because the disease is extremely contagious and can demolish large herds of cows. bTB is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium bovis. It can also infect badgers, deer, goats, pigs, llamas and alpacas – leading to the infamous case of Geronimo in 2021. Cattle are tested for the disease because it is zoonotic, so can pass to humans, so staying on top of it limits the risk to the population. The UK's meat and dairy products would also not be accepted for exports if we didn't have comprehensive bTB testing. The disease spreads slowly in cattle, so they often do not exhibit symptoms before it is picked up. 'I thought it would be fun to have them, and then they just died in alarming numbers. 'It was just terrible. I mean they still die, but we're getting more used to it now, we're a bit more robust.' He added: 'We're a bit stronger at dealing with it now. But it was a very heart-breaking time.' Clarkson continued by saying that he's also 'very fond' of his goats and cows on the farm, despite Cooper telling him to 'kill' the goats to 'sell' and 'eat'. 'But I actually thought, no I want to keep them because I like them, but the pigs you have to sell them, otherwise nobody would keep pigs if you didn't eat them. More Trending 'There would be no cows or pigs in the country if people didn't eat them.' He added: 'So in order to have the animals you have to eat them at the correct time, and it is weird, because you love them and you give birth to them and you nurture them and you feed them, you take care of them, you get the vet round when they're poorly. 'And then you kill them and it is a strange place to be when you haven't been a farmer all your life but we are getting better at it, we definitely are.'
