Lorraine Kelly has candidly shared that she wouldn't dare to compete on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing after a disconcerting comparison by one of the show's stars likened dancing with her to "dancing with a wardrobe".
In Monday's edition of her popular ITV chat show, Lorraine welcomed Emmerdale's latest addition Jaye Griffiths, who plays the straight-talking farmer Celia in the renowned soap.
As the conversation veered towards potential reality TV ventures for Jaye beyond Emmerdale, Lorraine queried: "If you're going to start doing shows, SAS would you do that one?" To which Jaye openly responded: "Yes, in a heartbeat. I love it because it's pointless, you can't win anything. There is nothing except to hurt yourself."
She elaborated: "It's to see if you have a back bone. Sometimes I watch it and on day one someone will pull out and I think 'what happened instead of your head to give up', would that be me."

Reflecting on other challenging shows, Lorraine remarked: "Now that I think about it, the scariest one would be Strictly," reports Edinburgh Live.

She then turned to Jaye with a probing question: "Would you ever do Strictly?" Jaye showed enthusiasm for participating in the dance extravaganza, replying: "Oh yes. I would love to learn those dances."
Lorraine confessed: "See I couldn't not in a million years. No, no." A curious Jaye questioned: "Why not, what's scary to you?"
Lorraine explained her trepidation: "Everything about it is scary. I would run away. You know when they say 'and now the tango la la la' and I would just go 'no you're alright' and I'll just run away because it's too scary."

Lorraine reminisced about a time when Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke suggested he could teach her to dance, only to have an unfortunate epiphany during their practice session.
She recounted: "I always say this but Anton Du Beke one time during a break he said 'I can teach you how to dance' and he said 'stand up, stand up'"
As Lorraine demonstrated their attempt at dancing, she continued the story: "Then he said 'nah, nah' he said it was like dancing with a wardrobe."
The studio erupted in laughter following her revelation, with Jaye commenting: "That's mean." Lorraine quickly retorted: "No, no but you would be fantastic."

Further into the programme, Jaye spoke candidly about her recent venture into Emmerdale as Celia, who, despite being new, has already ruffled feathers.
Casting light on another potential antagonist for Celia, Jaye posited that her character could be set to "shake things up" in the iconic village, describing her as "She's (Celia) fierce and complex shall we say."
Elaborating on her character's determination, Jaye noted: "She just wants what she wants, and doesn't understand why people don't just give it to her immediately. When you don't give her what she wants, there's part of her that goes, 'Oh, good, we're going to dance then'. Because she knows ultimately she always gets what she wants, and loves the game."

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX and Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

The BBC says it should never have broadcast the vile rants of Bob Vylan at Glastonbury and should have cut the live stream when he started chanting 'death to the IDF'. So how did it happen? It has emerged that BBC director-general Tim Davie was himself at Glastonbury on Saturday afternoon and whilst ruling that the performance should not subsequently be available on demand, did not pull the livestream from iPlayer. Where were the protocols to ensure anti-Semitic political propaganda was not sent out unexpurgated on the airwaves, courtesy of the long-suffering licence-fee payer? And if such rules existed why were they not enforced by Mr Davie? The incident could not have come as a surprise. Glastonbury attracts all sorts of preening, self-absorbed nonentities who think they have a monopoly of moral and political rectitude. Surely someone at the BBC must have done their due diligence and suspected that an act like Bob Vylan, which revels in controversy, would land them in it. They knew of the risk because an on-screen warning was issued about the 'very strong and discriminatory language'. At the very least, BBC executives should have insisted upon a delay allowing editors to switch coverage to another act in the event of a nauseating stunt of the sort we witnessed on Saturday. The Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told MPs she wanted to know why this act was broadcast live by the BBC and the feed was not cut. 'I want explanations,' she said. Now that we know that Mr Davie was intimately involved in this disastrous episode he must consider his own position.

Emmerdale confirms exit for character amid heartbreaking new health storyline
Emmerdale will be waving goodbye to a character this week for at least a month, as their mystery and worrying new storyline takes a turn, amid fears it's health related There was some news in the latest episode of Emmerdale that confirms an exit for one character. One character will seemingly leave the show imminently, announcing their plans to be out of the village by the end of the week. Bosses had confirmed a departure would be on the cards temporarily as part of the mystery new storyline. Amid fears for Bear in a secretive storyline that has seen his personality change and him displaying concerning behaviour, the character will flee the village for around a month if not longer. When he returns, he will spark concern with characters and viewers as there's clearly something not right with him. He will be different, with his loved ones and pals set to miss the signs of what's really going on. Bear will exit the soap for a while and won't be onscreen for weeks, and it's this brief exit that was confirmed on Monday night. He told his son Paddy Kirk after yet another run-in that he was going to stay with a friend in Ireland. He confirmed he would be leaving this coming Friday, meaning the scenes will likely air on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. It's not known if we will see or hear from Bear in his absence, but it's thought he will be AWOL and not in contact with Paddy or anyone. When he returns, more about what's going on with him will be revealed until we finally find out what''s happened. It's been tipped to be something health related, with concerns from fans suggesting it could be a physical or mental health issue. Paddy was seen confiding in Gabby Thomas and Marlon Dingle that he was worried his dad may have dementia. Some fans are worried it might be a brain or head injury from his wrestling days, or he may be diagnosed with a tumour. Other health conditions were also suggested, after "symptoms" in recent scenes included confusion, forgetfulness and Bear lashing out. He's been physically and verbally aggressive, pinning Paddy up against a wall and attacking Kammy too. He's been seen with a temper, and on Monday after Paddy was seriously injured in a dog attack, the character slammed his own son saying he let people walk all over him. Trashing his son's character he left Paddy heartbroken, before he fumed about Paddy's wife Mandy Dingle too in a judgmental way. He's acting very out of character, and the aggression and his recent funny turn, which saw him nearly collapse, and the fact he's angry one moment and then completely calm the next, has left fans fearing the worst. One viewer speculated: "Brilliant performance from Joshua Richards in tonight's #Emmerdale. Could bear have a tumour, Alzheimer's disease, depression or something totally different." A newer theory saw fans predicting he was suffering with a brain condition called Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), thought to be linked to repeated head injuries.

Chris McCausland and Alexander Armstrong visit Abergavenny pub
The Skirrid Mountain Inn is famous for being one of the oldest pubs in Wales and among the most haunted places in the world. The Abergavenny-based pub is described by visitors as "absolutely fantastic" and boasts a 4.2 (out of 5) rating on Tripadvisor from 410 reviews. The Skirrid Inn is so popular, it has even played host to several celebrities over the years, including the likes of Martin Clunes (Doc Martin). The Skirrid Inn plays host to Strictly and Pointless stars Now, the Skirrid Inn has welcomed Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland and Pointless host Alexander Armstrong. The pair were spotted at the pub on Sunday (June 29). The Skirrid Inn, posted a picture of Armstrong and McCausland with the staff on Facebook with the caption: "Lovely to have Alexander Armstrong & chris mccausland visit us today, true gentlemen (with a beer and walking boot emoji)." It appears Armstrong and McCausland were at the pub for the filming of the Channel 4 show Perfect Pub Walks. RECOMMENDED READING: The show is usually hosted by comedian and TV presenter Bill Bailey, although it is unclear whether or not he was also at the Skirrid Inn over the weekend. Another Facebook post from the pub, just hours before the picture of Armstrong and McCausland, said: "Please note that there may be some disruption in the beer garden today due to filming of Perfect Pub Walks, we are still open for food and drinks as normal. Thank you!" The Skirrid Mountain Inn has been contacted for comment.
