US President Donald Trump welcomed 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington on Monday, as diplomatic efforts intensify to secure a ceasefire in Gaza following months of devastating aggression.
The high-stakes visit comes amid indirect negotiations between 'Israel' and Hamas in Qatar, where mediators are working to bridge persistent gaps between the two sides.
Trump said over the weekend that there was a 'good chance' a truce could be reached this week.
The US president is hosting Netanyahu for a closed-door dinner at the White House, marking their third meeting since Trump's return to office. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt described ending the war and securing the release of captives as the administration's 'utmost priority.'

Trump: Zohran Mamdani better behave, or else he will face big problems
US President Donald Trump sharply criticized Zohran Mamdani, the progressive Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, warning that Mamdani 'better behave' or face serious consequences.

Netanyahu: A Palestinian state would only destroy Israel
Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that 'Israel' is open to peace but rejected the idea of granting full sovereignty to Palestinians under the current security climate.
'Palestinians can govern themselves, but not threaten us,' Netanyahu stated. 'We can reach peace with Palestinians who do not seek to destroy us, but security will remain in our hands.'
Netanyahu expressed optimism for broader regional normalization efforts, saying,'We can achieve broad peace in the Middle East that includes all our neighbors.' However, he also drew a hard line against renewed calls for a two-state solution.
'Some ask us to give Palestinians a state, but it would only become a platform to destroy us,' he warned. 'After October 7, Hamas had a 'state' inside Israel, but we destroyed it.'
As of now, no new ceasefire deal has been reached between 'Israel' and Hamas, though both leaders said conditions are improving. Trump signaled optimism, 'I don't believe there are obstacles to a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, things are going well.'

Trump: Hamas wants ceasefire, we're negotiating for fairness
'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump held a pivotal meeting in Washington this week, signaling deepening cooperation between the two leaders on a range of critical regional and global issues, from the war in Gaza to Iran's nuclear program and broader geopolitical realignments.
In a joint appearance and series of statements, the two leaders highlighted what they described as a strong and growing partnership.
'I met with Secretary of State Rubio and had a very important discussion about strengthening the Israel–US alliance,' Netanyahu said, noting that both countries face 'shared challenges on the regional and international levels.'
Netanyahu praised Trump's leadership, saying, 'I express the gratitude and admiration of all Israelis for President Trump's leadership of the free world,' and added, 'Our teams together form a great partnership, and President Trump is shaping peace in the region.'
The meeting comes as the US steps up efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, where indirect talks between 'Israel' and Hamas continue in Qatar.
Trump confirmed the diplomatic momentum, stating, 'Hamas wants to negotiate and reach a ceasefire.'
He also emphasized that his administration is focused on 'fair negotiations' and achieving 'justice for the United States in trade.'
In a significant comment on the future of Gaza, Netanyahu said, 'President Trump spoke about freedom of choice, if Gaza residents want to leave, they can, and if they wish to stay, they may do so.'
Trump, who has previously described ending wars as a top foreign policy goal, also touched on the conflict in Ukraine.
'I stop wars. About 7,000 soldiers were killed just last week between Russia and Ukraine, and I can stop that,' he said, expressing disappointment in Russian President Vladimir Putin for not working toward peace.
Turning to Iran, Trump made bold claims about recent US military operations, stating, 'The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed the destruction of the site we targeted in Iran,' and added, 'The Iranian nuclear program has been wiped out.'

Hamas: After 640 Days of War, the Occupation Has Failed to Break Gaza's Will - Jordan News

Hamas declared on Tuesday that the military and political realities after 640 days of the Israeli war on Gaza have made it clear to the entire world that the occupation has utterly failed to break Gaza's will or subdue its resistance. اضافة اعلان In its statement, Hamas said the slogans of a 'crushing defeat' and the 'complete eradication' of the movement had collapsed in the face of explosive tunnels, complex resistance ambushes, and the illusion of freeing captives by force was shattered under relentless resistance strikes. The statement added that "Gideon" armored vehicles were burned in Beit Hanoun and Khan Younis, with their crews killed, while the resistance continues to fight bravely and with parity, despite hunger and siege, as the occupation continues to commit massacres against civilians and innocents. Hamas stressed that the resistance has forced Israel to admit its failure and the impossibility of simultaneously achieving the release of captives and defeating the resistance. It said the axes of Israeli incursion have turned into death traps, from which soldiers do not emerge unharmed. The group emphasized that Israel's persistent attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians and impose ethnic cleansing have been met with heroic steadfastness by the people, who resisted death, hunger, and bombardment, and rejected having their future dictated by intelligence rooms or political dictates. Hamas concluded by stating that this comprehensive failure — militarily, politically, and morally — exposes the falsehood of the Zionist propaganda machine, reaffirming that this battle was never just about weapons and rockets, but also a battle of consciousness, willpower, and resilience. Since October 7, 2023, Israel — with U.S. support — has waged what has been described as a genocide in Gaza, involving widespread killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, in defiance of international appeals and binding orders from the International Court of Justice to stop. The war has resulted in around 194,000 Palestinians killed or injured, most of them children and women, with over 11,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming the lives of many — including children — amid widespread devastation.

Russia: We Will Continue the Military Operation Despite Trump's Pledge to Arm Ukraine - Jordan News

Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said on Tuesday that in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to increase arms supplies to Kyiv, Russia will continue its military operation and pursue its objectives. اضافة اعلان Writing on his Telegram channel, Medvedev said: 'The American is once again back on his favorite political swing.' Commenting on Trump's statements about a settlement in Ukraine, he added: 'Trump's declarations go like this — 'I'm satisfied with the results of my talks with Putin. I'm dissatisfied with the outcome of my call with Putin... We are not providing Ukraine with new weapons... We will provide Ukraine with a large amount of weapons for defense.'' Medvedev questioned: 'How are we supposed to deal with this? We will respond as we have before — in the same manner followed by our fighters and by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.' He concluded: 'With no reaction... We will continue to pursue the goals of the military operation in Ukraine, reclaim our territories, and fight until victory.' Last night, Trump pledged to send more weapons to Ukraine, emphasizing that they would primarily be defensive in nature. Following Trump's statement, the Pentagon announced it would send 'primarily defensive' weapons to Ukraine.

Hamas: Netanyahu's remarks reflect psychological defeat

Hamas official Izzat Al-Risheq commented on 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding the 'release of all hostages and Hamas' surrender,' saying that such remarks do not reflect the military reality, but rather 'the psychological defeat' of the 'Israel's' leadership. Risheq stated, 'The enemy's leaders' acknowledgment of their total failure to recover their captives through military operations indicates that the only solution to secure their release is through a serious deal with the resistance.' He added, 'Gaza will not surrender, and it is the resistance that will dictate the terms, just as it has imposed the equations on the ground.'
