EA Sports College Football 26 brings Michigan's Mr. Brightside tradition to life
And though it's a newly adopted tradition in Ann Arbor, one of the favorites among fans is the singing of The Killers song, 'Mr. Brightside,' between the third and fourth quarters. And yeah, that's in the game.
A clip made its way onto X (formerly Twitter) of the newly included tradition in the video game property, and it's complete with the fans singing along, including the final line of the chorus being cut out while the singing continues.
Check it out:
That definitely enhances the realism.
What is unrealistic, potentially, however, is the game being 7-0 against rival Michigan State entering the fourth quarter -- not just because Michigan has a slim lead, but because both teams tend to score a bit more than that by that time in the game.
The Wolverines have four players in the top 100 of the game with safety Rod Moore leading the charge, then edge rusher Derrick Moore, left guard Giovanni El-Hadi, and defensive tackle Rayshaun Benny.

Ohio State football coach Ryan Day rated among the best in 'College Football 26'
We know some of you already purchased the Deluxe Edition of 'College Football 26' and are already enjoying many of the features on the newest release of the game, and battling it out with friends and foes alike across the country. We're also pretty sure most of you visiting this homer Ohio State site are using the Buckeyes to dominate the competition. If so, then there's no doubt you've noticed some of the ratings now visible and available in the game, including where Ohio State ranks, who the top players are in the game, what Buckeye players are rated, and much more. One thing many fans may not know, however, is that the head coaches in the game are also ranked and rated, and that includes OSU head coach Ryan Day. But what does EA Sports think of Day? Coming fresh off a College Football national championship, you would expect Day to be highly rated in the game, and that's definitely the case. In fact, Day is rated as the third best coach in the game behind only Kirby Smart of Georgia and Clemson's Dabo Swinney. All three have a "prestige" of an A+, but Smart and Swinney both have an overall rating of 80, while Day has a rating of 72. Rounding out the top ten behind those three are Steve Sarkisian of Texas (68), Oregon's Dan Lanning (66), Penn State head coach James Franklin (64), Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman (63), Kalen DeBoer of Alabama (62), LSU's Brian Kelly (62), and Lane Kiffin of Ole Miss (61). Of note, Michigan man Sherrone Moore is nowhere to be found. I think there are a lot of folks around the country who would want Day over Swinney because it sure feels like the way things are going in college football has made him a bit of a dinosaur, but the Clemson head coach does have two national championships, so I guess that's the tiebreaker. Either way, Day continues to gain prestige and respect in coaching circles, the media, and yes, the virtual video game realm. EA Sports College Football 26 brings Michigan's Mr. Brightside tradition to life
EA Sports has gone all in on making its newly released (deluxe edition on Monday, regular edition on July 10) College Football 26 property closer and closer to the actual game day experience. That includes more control over the players, the coaches being in the game, as well as school traditions. And though it's a newly adopted tradition in Ann Arbor, one of the favorites among fans is the singing of The Killers song, 'Mr. Brightside,' between the third and fourth quarters. And yeah, that's in the game. Michigan's Rod Moore, Derrick Moore top Wolverines, EA Sports College Football 26 ratings
The all-new EA Sports College Footgball 26 deluxe version is out on digital download with only a few days remaining until the regular edition and hard copies become available to the general public. With that in mind, who are the top Michigan football players in the game? The new version includes more authenticity, from the coaches being in the game to Mr. Brightside playing between the third and fourth quarters. But the most important thing is how the team plays, and it's also a window into what video game developers and their advisors believe to be the top players in all of college football. The Wolverines have four players who are in the top 100 of those included in the game. Though Ohio State leads the charge with the top two players overall in wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and safety Caleb Downs, Michigan has the following four with their ratings included: As far as overall ranking in the game, Rod Moore comes in at No. 54, Moore at No. 72, El-Hadi is No. 75, and Benny is No. 94. This is the second iteration of the relaunched video game property and yet again, there is a Michigan contingent on the cover, with Bryce Underwood being the only true freshman to grace the front of the game -- along with recurring Wolverine, Denard Robinson.
