The gangs exploit the victims by confiscating passports, subjecting them to long working hours, physical threats, and forcing them to operate cyber scams targeting individuals across Asia.

Gurugram cops step up drive against illegal immigrants
Gurugram: Anju Khatun, who says she is from West Bengal, was visibly terrified while recounting the ordeal she faced earlier this week while frantically searching for her husband at the holding centres set up by the Gurugram Police for illegal immigrants. She is not the only one. Several Bengali-speaking people are petrified by the police's ongoing drive to identify illegal immigrants. Many claim that the police were targeting Bengali-speaking people. According to police sources, under the drive, which has been going on for the past one week, more than 250 suspected people have been sent to the holding areas, where their documents were being verified.A senior police officer said a verification process was being conducted to identify illegal immigrants and dismissed reports that migrant workers from West Bengal and Assam were being targeted and detained. The drive has visibly affected sanitation works, with garbage piling up across the Millennium City. Most of the sanitation workers, who speak Bengali, have stopped showing up for work out of fear that they may be rounded up at the detention centre for domicile verification. 'My husband had gone to clean cars at a residential society in Sector 56 on Monday when the police took him with them. It was in the late evening that I got to know that he was in a holding centre,' said Khatun, a resident of a slum in Sector 56.'It was only after I reached the centre with our Aadhaar cards and other documents that the police released my husband. We are from West Bengal and have been staying in Gurugram for the past five years,' she said. Sources claimed that more than 20 people from Assam's Dhubri were kept in the community centre at Sector-10 by the police for five days before being released on Wednesday. Jahanur Islam, who has been collecting garbage in the city for 10 years, said the police nabbed them five days ago. 'We were not told why we were being held. All those nabbed collect garbage from houses around Kankarola and Panchgaon villages,' Islam said. The senior officer said police have identified eight illegal immigrants, suspected to be from Bangladesh, during the drive so far, and some more verifications were being done. 'We are following the Centre's guidelines on suspected illegal immigrants. We are not detaining them, but they are being kept in 'holding areas' till the verification process is completed, and, accordingly, we are letting them go,' DCP (Headquarters), Gurugram, Arpit Jain told PTI over the phone on Thursday. 'The only purpose of keeping them in the holding area is so that any illegal immigrant may not escape,' he said, adding that four holding areas have been set up under as many police zones in Gurugram. Police said these holding areas have been set up at community centres in Badshahpur, Sector 10A, Sector 40 and Sector 1 in Manesar. On Tuesday, the administration appointed naib tehsildars as in charge of these centres. 'Under the guidelines of the Home Ministry, four holding centres have been created. All basic necessities, including medical facilities, are being provided to them at the centres.

RCB Star Faces Another Sexual Assault Case, This Time For Raping Minor
Indian cricketer Yash Dayal has landed himself in deep water, with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer facing serious allegation of rape. NDTV has accessed an FIR report which has been registered against Dayal at Jaipur's Sanganer Police Station for allegedly raping a girl over a period of two years while emotionally blackmailing her. It has been revealed that Dayal lured her with promises of a cricketing career, and invited her to a hotel in Sitapura, where the first sexual assault took place. The girl was only 17 when the first instance took place, prompting the police to register the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This comes after the Allahabad High Court recently stayed Dayal's arrest in connection with an FIR against him for allegedly sexually exploiting another woman. A bench comprising Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar passed the order on Dayal's petition challenging the FIR. Staying his arrest, the court asked state counsel to file a counter affidavit and also issued notices to the complainant to file her counter in the matter. The first FIR against 27-year-old Dayal, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL, was registered on July 6 at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad district under Section 69 (Sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means etc.) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Dayal has been accused of sexually exploiting a woman on the pretext of marriage. The petitioner's counsel submitted that a person can be accused of an offence under Section 69 of BNS only if it is established that he makes a promise to marry to a woman without any intention to fulfill it. In his petition, Dayal had sought stay of his arrest in the matter as well as quashing of the FIR registered against him. According to the complainant, the two had met around five years ago, and Dayal had promised to marry her. The woman also claimed that Dayal kept postponing her proposal to marry, and eventually, she came to know Dayal was involved with other women as well. The complaint was initially submitted on June 21 via the chief minister's online grievance portal (IGRS).

JD Vance slams WSJ ‘hit piece': US VP demands proof behind Trump-Epstein birthday book claim; defends President's lawsuit
JD Vance (File photo) US Vice President JD Vance has come out swinging against The Wall Street Journal over its recent report linking President Donald Trump to a sexually suggestive message allegedly written for Jeffrey Epstein 's 50th birthday tribute book. In a fiery post on X, Vance accused the WSJ of publishing what he called a 'hit piece' against Trump without providing credible proof. 'I have no idea if the book exists—WSJ won't show it to us. I have no idea if the letter exists—WSJ won't show it to us,' he wrote. 'It's disgraceful, and it's why the president sued," he added. Vance also pushed back on the broader narrative, calling it 'absurd that a major American paper would attack the President of the United States without revealing the basis", referring to allegations that Trump write poems to Epstein, and warning that the media will 'dribble little details out for days or weeks in an effort to assassinate the president's character.' Further, accusing them of pushing Democrats' narrative he further said, "Everyone will just move on from the fact that the WSJ is acting like a Democrat SuperPAC." His remarks follow a Wall Street Journal report published last week claiming that Trump signed a crude drawing in a birthday book compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell , Epstein's longtime associate who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking minors. The Journal alleged that Trump's contribution included the outline of a naked woman with his signature below her waist, reportedly captioned with the phrase, 'May every day be another wonderful secret.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Up to 70% off | Shop Sale Libas Undo Trump swiftly denied the allegation, posting on Truth Social that the letter was a 'FAKE.' The White House also issued a statement dismissing the claims as politically motivated. 'This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media,' said spokesperson Steven Cheung. The report also resurfaced Trump's prior connections to Epstein, including a 1997 inscription in a copy of The Art of the Comeback that read, 'To Jeff- You are the greatest!' A previously unreleased photo of Trump, Epstein, and singer James Brown was also reviewed by The New York Times, further fueling scrutiny of their past ties. The controversy has intensified calls from lawmakers and the public to release sealed Epstein-related documents. A key House committee voted this week to subpoena files from the Justice Department, and Rep. Ro Khanna has indicated he plans to subpoena Epstein's estate for the original birthday book. Epstein's estate said Thursday it would comply with all lawful processes. Meanwhile, Maxwell's role remains central- she reportedly wrote the book's introductory letter and met with a Justice Department official this week. While the WSJ and NYT say they have reviewed parts of the book and Maxwell's letter, they have yet to publish full images of the materials in question, prompting continued criticism from Trump's allies. Trump's lawsuit Trump filed a libel and slander lawsuit against Dow Jones, News Corp along with two Wall Street Journal reporters, and the paper's owner Rupert Murdoch. In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced that he filed a 'powerhouse lawsuit.' "We have just filed a POWERHOUSE Lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, FAKE NEWS 'article' in the useless 'rag' that is, The Wall Street Journal," the MAGA supremo said. "This historic legal action is being brought against the so-called authors of this defamation, the now fully disgraced WSJ, as well as its corporate owners and affiliates, with Rupert Murdoch and Robert Thomson (whatever his role is!) at the top of the list," Trump added. The lawsuit was filed in the federal court for the Southern District of Florida, based in Miami. A full copy of the complaint had not yet been made public.
