First trailer shows star's portrayal of rock legend Bruce Springsteen

Jeremy Allen White is gunning for that Oscar nomination.
The Golden Globe-winning actor has already proven his acting chops with the hit series The Bear. But now, White is upping the ante by transforming into Bruce Springsteen for the dramatic new biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.
Directed by Scott Cooper, Deliver Me From Nowhere follows Springsteen through the making of his 1982 album Nebraska, as told through the 2023 book by Warren Zanes.
The emotional trailer, which can be watched at the top of this page, shows how White deftly handles Springsteen's personal struggle with fame as he attempts to stay true to his roots while working on what fans now know to be one of the most important albums of his career. White even lends his own vocals to some of Springsteen's classics for the film, including Born to Run.

Per the film's official synopsis: 'Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen's New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.'
The Deliver Me From Nowhere trailer also gives fans a glimpse of Jeremy Strong playing Springsteen's long-time manager, Jon Landau, who fights to maintain Springsteen's creative freedom.

'This is not about either one of us. This is not about the charts. This is about Bruce Springsteen,' he tells David Krumholtz, who plays Columbia Records executive Al Teller. 'These are the songs he wants to work on right now … He's repairing that hole in himself with this album and once he's done that, he's gonna repair the entire world.'
The sneak peek is already generating Oscars buzz for the actor. Could this be the role that finally lands White his first Academy Award?
For comparison, A Complete Unknown earned eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor for Timothee Chalamet, but did not win in a single category.
But there's still hope. White has had quite the winning streak lately; he's won the Golden Globe for Best Actor three years in a row for his performance in The Bear.

‘Temu ACA': 10 News+ roasted by viewers

Despite Network 10 bagging an interview with the Prime Minister in a bid to win viewers over, it seems the new show has fallen flat with those watching at home. As it aired on Monday night, many took to X to share their views on The Project's replacement, and sadly for Network 10, most opinions appeared overwhelmingly negative, with some labelling 10 News+ a knockoff of rival network shows like A Current Affair. 'Anyone else bored so far? #10newsplus,' tweeted one viewer, with another agreeing: 'Same. Disappointing.' Television journalist Denham Hitchcock and his former Seven Network colleague Amelia Brace interviewed the Prime Minister on Monday. Another complained about the format of the new show, tweeting: 'Please no more long investigation reports it's 6pm!' 'This is proper @Channel7 style commercial JUNK. It's like watching a cross between Fox News and Anchorman. Why the silly news voices!? questioned another disgruntled viewer. 'This is like ACA. Going to peoples houses to talk & them avoiding the cameras. Lots of nodding,' commented another viewer. One however, praised the show's lead story on convicted drug smuggler Debbie Voulgaris, who gave an exclusive interview from a Taiwan prison. 'Loving 10 news +, strong launch story. Is this the new Schapelle Corby story we all need to know about. 10 news should be very proud,' they wrote. The show's interview with the Prime Minister also sparked some viewer backlash, with journalists Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace being called out for their interviewing techniques, which saw the PM interrupted multiple times. Meanwhile, it was an emotional final episode of The Project on Channel 10 on Friday after over 16 years on-screen with surprise appearances from Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson. Regular hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris, Sam Taunton and Georgie Tunny bid farewell to viewers during an emotional final episode. 'I can't actually look at you all, I'm so sorry, because you've just been an absolute dream to work with,' said Tunny as she broke down. 'There can be a lot said about the media industry and it's cat fights and all of this, but this has been a family from the beginning and I know that you'll still in my life.' Abby Elliott reflects on Saturday Night Live departure: 'The worst that could happen'
Abby Elliott has described getting fired from Saturday Night Live was her "worst" fear come true. The Bear star joined the comedy show in 2008, becoming its youngest ever female cast member at the age of 21, and she admitted there was a lot of pressure to write successful sketches, with the "looming threat" of being dropped constantly in her mind. She told the Independent: 'Every week was a new week, and your happiness would depend on whether you got something on air or not, and if three weeks went by without a sketch, you'd think, 'Uh-oh, am I going to be fired?' 'There was always that looming threat of getting fired. That was the worst that could happen. And then, I kind of did.' Abby had initially asked creator Lorne Michaels if she could leave in 2012 but then changed her mind - only for him to say no. She said: 'I went back to him with my tail between my legs asking to stay, but after that season, Lorne said, 'No, I'm going to cut you loose.' " But ultimately, Abby - who was best known on the show for her impressions of the likes of Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Meryl Streep - knew the comedy of SNL wasn't all she wanted to do with her career. She said: 'As much as I enjoyed being on that show, sketch comedy wasn't going to be it for me. It's not why I started and it's not how I wanted to end. Also, I had learnt the lessons I was going to learn... and so I left and, you know, the water was warm.' After roles in the likes of How I Met Your Mother, Odd Mom Out, and Indebted, Abby thought sitcoms would be where her career path led, so she was thrilled to receive an audition notice to play Natalie in The Bear. She said: "It was so unique. I thought, 'Oh my God, this is so cool. This is so different.'' Loving the fact Natalie was multi-dimensional, she noted: 'I've played characters before where you're just the person who sets up the joke, and then the guy comes in and has the punchline.' However, the 38-year-old actress had to fight her natural instinct to play Natalie like a comedian with a lot of jokes in the highly-improvised dialogue. She said: 'My first day on set, it was very clear to me that I had to play her as natural and as real as possible."
