Why Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry Split, Per a Source

Cosmopolitan14 hours ago
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are in the middle of a a very public split—even though the stars have yet to confirm the news. And, as with any celebrity breakup, there's been plenty of speculation as to what might have caused the couple to call it quits. And a new report claims that Katy and Orlando have been struggling with the same problem 'for years': their busy schedules.
'Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,' a source told People. '[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don't communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.'
The source also claimed that the couple had 'been living on an island of stress' leading up to the split, which was confirmed by Us Weekly on June 26. 'Sometimes love isn't enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],' a different source told the magazine. 'It can overshadow the love.'
As for how they are doing since news of the breakup became public, they've been on opposite sides of the globe this week. Orlando was spotted having a grand old time at Jeff Bezos' wedding in Venice last weekend, partying among fellow celebs Sydney Sweeney and Tom Brady.
Meanwhile, Katy is busy on her Lifetimes World Tour. On Monday, she was recorded getting emotional on stage during the last show of her tour's Adelaide, Australia, stop. Katy appeared teary eyed in a video uploaded to X, as she held up her hands in a heart. 'Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world,' she said before launching into 'Firework.'
Joining Katy in Australia is her daughter, Daisy, 4, whom she shares with Orlando. 'At a certain point, they had to admit it's better for Daisy to see their parents separately, then she won't grow up feeling the tension and animosity,' yet another source told People. The unnamed source continued, adding, 'They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.'

'Always Sunny' Star Files To Legally Change His Name, And His Family Isn't Thrilled

If you have a hard time pronouncing Rob McElhenney's name, you're apparently not alone. The 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' creator and star has filed papers in Los Angeles to legally change his name to Rob Mac, People has confirmed. Mac is the name of McElhenney's character in his beloved FX comedy and is the first syllable in his family's surname. Mac will now be credited as Rob Mac in projects moving forward, Entertainment Weekly reports, although FX has already been crediting him by this name in its online materials. The official name change comes shortly after the actor told Variety in May that he was toying around with the idea of legally changing his name because his company, More Better Productions, is expanding internationally. 'As our business and our storytelling is expanding into other regions of the world and other languages in which my name is even harder to pronounce, I'm just going by Rob Mac,' he said. More Better was behind the docuseries 'Welcome to Wrexham,' which chronicled Mac and actor Ryan Reynolds' acquisition of the football club Wrexham AFC in the United Kingdom. Although the name change might make it easier for people to pronounce his name, it seems that Mac's immediate family — which includes his wife and 'Always Sunny' co-star Kaitlin Olson — is a bit miffed by it. 'The kids are really not happy about it, because they have that last name,' Olson told Variety. 'And so do I, legally!' The 'Hacks' star, who still uses Olson professionally, and Mac share two sons, Axel, 14, and Leo, 13. The two teens may want to follow their dad's lead in the future, however. Mac told Variety that during a recent bash to celebrate his 48th birthday in April, some of his extended family members admitted they've been tempted to change the name as well. He also noted to Variety that he recently discovered some relatives had tweaked 'McElhenney' over the years.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Spotted on Ohio Date as They ‘Soak Up Every Minute' Together

THE RUNDOWN Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were in New York City this Saturday, enjoying dinner out. This evening, photos emerged of the couple out again—this time in Ohio, Kelce's home state. DeuxMoi ran a photo of the pair having a lunch date. Swift stood out in a white blouse and tan pleated skirt. She had her hair up in a ponytail, while Kelce had his back turned to the camera. The sighting comes the same day People published a new report on Kelce and Swift's nearly two-year relationship—and how the past few months have changed it for the better. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and singer have been enjoying their downtime from work together, with Swift having wrapped her Eras Tour in December. Kelce finished his NFL season at the Super Bowl this February. He'll return to training camp later this summer. The pair has spent the majority of this time out of the public eye, but they are thriving in private. 'It's been a turning point for their relationship in a lot of ways,' People's source explained. 'They're incredibly happy and in sync. There's a calmness and ease to their relationship right now that's been really grounding for Taylor and Travis.' The insider added, 'Taylor and Travis are soaking up every minute of this slower season together. They've been splitting their time between New York, Nashville, and a few quiet getaways, just enjoying each other's company without all the usual chaos. This kind of downtime is rare for both of them, and it's really allowed their bond to deepen.' The source also spoke about how momentous it was for Swift to buy the masters for her first six albums. 'Having Travis by her side for that milestone made it even more special,' the insider said. 'He was honored to support her, and he wouldn't have wanted it any other way.'

Teary-eyed Katy Perry thanks fans as she closes out Australian show

Katy Perry is emotionally marking the end of a tour era. On June 30, the popstar wrapped a four-show stint in Adelaide, Australia, which capped nearly four weeks of performing in the island country. "Thank you for always being there for me, Australia; it means the world," a teary-eyed Perry told the crowd as her 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove's vocals on her "143" album-closing track "Wonder" rang out in the arena. She shook off the emotion and said, "Now let's sing 'Firework!'" In a following post, Bloom typed up a "daily encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda," a prominent Japanese religious figure and Buddhist, who died at age 95 in 2023, whom Bloom has long admired. "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next," Bloom wrote in his Story.
