Husband's cheating exposed by family scale thanks to untimely weigh-in
A skeptical wife shared the wild way she learned of her husband's ways in a viral Reddit post, detailing how she found two late-night weigh-ins on her digital scale – taken while she was away and her husband was home alone.
'I checked the digital scale's memory out of curiosity and it showed two 'unassigned' weigh-ins at exactly 120 lbs, logged at 12:15 a.m. and 12:26 a.m. back-to-back,' user @throw-Doubt303 posted in the sub r/AmIOverreacting.
'For context, I do not weigh 120 lbs, and I was not there on that date, just my husband,' she wrote on Reddit.
The distraught woman noted that she and her husband were 'in the middle of a separation' due to his past cheating.
She later noted in the comment section that she and her husband had a goal 'to work on ourselves to build a better foundation for our marriage.'
'Our agreement was NOT to see other people, especially in a family home,' she added.
The Reddit peanut gallery was quick to try and guide the woman, who noted at the end of her post that she was 'trying to stay strong,' but it was difficult.
'Just more closure to finalize the separation. Now you can have peace knowing that this is the right decision,' one person wrote.
'Pro tip - don't tell him you know there was a female there. Get in touch with attorneys to make a game plan,' another chimed in.
'I think it's pretty clear he had someone over. And 120 lbs after midnight – not one of his male buddies,' another commentator added. 'Blessing in disguise, better to have confirmation now so you can proceed confidently with the divorce.'
While some commentators made judgmental remarks about the woman having 'trust issues' because she went as far as to check the data on the scale, many were sympathetic and urged her to stop torturing herself and leave him.
'You already know he's a cheat. Why do you need more proof he's a terrible person? It's not good for your mental health,' one person wrote.
'I'm so excited to see you lose 190 pounds! Huge weight loss,' another person added.

At least 3 shot, 1 killed in Denver in 2 overnight shootings
One person is dead, at least two are injured, and at least two suspects are at large in two separate overnight shootings in Denver, police say. The first one occurred just before 8 a.m. near 22nd Street and Glenarm Place. Man, 18, shot during robbery on CTA Red Line train at 95th Street station, police say
An 18-year-old man was shot during a robbery at a CTA Red Line station Saturday night on the city's South Side. It happened shortly after 10 p.m. at the station located in the 0-100 block of West 95th Street. Chicago police said officers responded to a call of a person shot at the station. They said the victim was inside a train car when an unknown man approached and demanded his belongings. The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the chest and right flank. The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. As of Sunday, no arrests were made. Area 2 detectives are investigating.

'Good Samaritan' Alerts Authorities After Discovering 50 Lbs. of Suspected Cocaine Floating Off Florida Keys

On Friday, Aug. 1, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced that a "good samaritan," who was identified as a mariner, found the 23 kilograms — or roughly 50 lbs. — of "suspected cocaine" five miles south of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Both the U.S. Customs Border and Protection and the MCSO then brought the packages ashore before turning them over to federal authorities, according to the MCSO. The MCSO also shared an image to social media of the taped-up packages, which were shaped like bricks, sitting on a dock. There appeared to be roughly 20 packages in total, with certain portions blurred out for the sake of the Facebook post. The identity of the mariner who discovered the suspected cocaine packages has not been released publicly. When reached for comment on Sunday, Aug. 3, the MCSO directed PEOPLE to U.S. Customs Border and Protection. Contacts for the CBP did not immediately respond to a request for further information. According to its website, Islamorada is home to perhaps the "world's highest density of professional offshore and backcountry charter boats" with tournament-grade captains. Both backcountry sport fishing and saltwater fly fishing were pioneered in the village of islands as well, per its site. This is not the first time drugs have been handed in to the MCSO in recent years. In early July, the office shared an image to Facebook of a package containing what it believed to be 1.3 kilograms — or nearly three pounds — of suspected cocaine discovered near Mile Marker 79.5. The package featured an image from the 2000 film Gladiator. Last year, a lobster diver discovered a package of what was believed to be cocaine roughly one mile offshore of the community of Tavernier, per CBS12. A photo shared by the MCSO at the time showed an illustration of a rabbit scull with the word "Bunny" written underneath it, prominently displayed on the packaging. Elsewhere in the state, the Walton County Sheriff's Office announced on X in late June that a beachgoer found nearly $500,000 of cocaine washed up on a local beach.
