Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has suggested Sarfaraz Khan to learn from Karun Nair after his team India snub. Sarfaraz was dropped from the team for the upcoming England Test series set to begin from June 20. However, the 27-year-old has continued his good form as he recently scored 92 in the first unofficial Test against England Lions.
Following his team India snub, Harbhajan Singh revealed that he was left shocked after not seeing his name in the squad. However, he urged Sarfaraz to learn from Karun Nair, who made a comeback in the Indian team after seven years on the back of solid performances in the domestic circuit.
'It's very unfortunate... I was a bit shocked not seeing his name in the squad. I'm sure he will come back strong. He has got that will to make a comebackAll I can say is, don't be disheartened, you will get your due, if not today, then tomorrow.Look at Karun Nair. He scored 300 runs against England and then never got too many opportunities. Now he is back in England with the team,' Harbhajan told PTI.
Sarfaraz recently also hammered 101 runs off just 76 balls, laced with 15 fours and two sixes during team India's intra-squad practice. In six Test appearances for India so far, Sarfaraz has amassed 371 runs at an average of 37.10, including a memorable 150 in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test against New Zealand last year.
The 27-year-old was training hard for the all-important England tour as he even lost ten kg through a strict diet plan. However, much to his dismay, he failed to find a place in the squad despite not playing a single match during the Australia tour. In his place, the selectors have shown faith in Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sai Sudharsan, who are yet to make their Test debuts.
