The New York Mets made a big addition one day before the MLB trade deadline, reportedly acquiring durable reliever Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported the news first on Twitter/X.

Rogers, who had been in the Giants' organization since 2013, was one of many relievers the club made available to rivals after Tuesday's game, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Now, he'll take his submarine delivery to Queens, where the Mets are looking to improve their standing in the competitive National League.

Rogers, 34, has led the National League in games pitched in four of his six full big league seasons. While not overpowering, his unique delivery allows him to rack up appearances and give batters a unique arm angle compared to his peers.

Since his 2019 debut, Rogers is 26-20 with a 2.79 ERA. He's 4-3 with a 1.80 ERA for the Giants, whose five consecutive losses — including three against the Mets — have plummeted their playoff hopes.
The Giants are 54-54, third place in the National League West.
