'Impressive' dash cam with 'sharp image and wide-angle view' now £45 off on Amazon

Daily Record5 days ago
"This dash cam is impressive, with both front and rear coverage. The video quality is sharp and the wide-angle view captures everything you need."
No matter how good of a driver you may be, it's impossible to control other people's actions on the road. That's why it's important to invest in a dash cam, so there's always proof of what happened should you suffer any unforeseen incidents in the car.
Luckily for safety-conscious drivers, a top-rated dash cam has seen a significant reduction on Amazon. Usually retailing at a steep £99.99, the cam is currently on a generous offer of 45 per cent off, now costing just £55.01.
This advanced D600 4K dash cam simultaneously captures the road in detail with a front resolution of 4K and rear resolution of 1080P. Complete with a 170° wide-angle lens and night vision, clear footage can be captured even in low-light situations to ensure every angle is covered and nothing is missed.
Like many doorbell cams and dash cams, the product comes with an app. The "GKU GO" app for Android or iOS smartphones allows users to live stream, download videos, adjust settings, edit, and share footage effortlessly.
With a simple tap, drivers can share snippets of any journey on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or other social media platforms.
Its product description claims the product is the 'perfect dashcam for cars, truck, SUV' making it easier to provide evidence when making an insurance claim.
When the SD card is full, new recordings will overwrite the oldest ones automatically.
Triggered by G-sensor, the dashcam front and rear camera will automatically detect sudden vibration or shocks, and will lock the video without being overwritten.
The car dash cam automatically switches to parking mode when the vehicle is parked, ensuring constant surveillance for anything that could occur while the owner is away.
Those browsing alternative car dash cams may opt for the Nextbase 222X Front and Rear Dash Cam Bundle for a pricier £109.99.
Or for those on a budget, the Binatone FHD200 Full HD Quick Release Dash Cam is also available on Argos for £39.99.
But drivers are loving the discounted cam on Amazon, which has raked in some glowing reviews.
One delighted customer said: "This dash cam is impressive, with both front and rear coverage. The video quality is sharp and the wide-angle view captures everything you need. It comes with its own app, making it easy to download footage and adjust settings. I'm really satisfied with the purchase—great value for the price."
But a less satisfied shopper said: "Unfortunately this product is not fit for purpose. It cuts out constantly meaning I do not have the security of constant video coverage, which is the reason I bought this dashcam.
"I reached out to the supplier for help, who initially replied to my concerns, but unfortunately I did not receive the hard wire kit offered - which apparently may resolve the issue, therefore I would recommend that you buy from a more reliable source as I feel this product has simply been a waste of money."
Yet a happier shopper wrote: "One of my favourite features is the parking mode, which can be activated when paired with a hardwiring kit. It gives me peace of mind knowing my vehicle is being monitored even when I'm not around.
"The included app is user-friendly and makes it easy to view live or recorded footage on the go. There are also plenty of settings to customize the dashcam to any preferences. All of this can be accessed by taking the included SD card out too."
The dash cam is available on Amazon.

Sorry Beats, these JBL headphones are my next buy – down from £120 to £59 on Amazon

THESE noise-cancelling headphones are an absolute steal right now. The JBL Tune 770s are down to just £58.97 from £119.99 on Amazon, and shoppers are loving them. JBL Tune 770 Noise-Cancelling Headphones, £129.99 £58.97 BUY FROM AMAZON If there's one thing I've learned after years of reviewing audio gear, it's that a big brand name doesn't always mean better sound or better value. Beats might get all the attention, but JBL is the one quietly delivering serious sound at prices that make a lot more sense. Just look at the JBL Tune 770NC headphones, a steal on Amazon right now, slashed from £119.99 to just £58.97. You're getting wireless, over-ear, noise-cancelling headphones from a trusted name for under £60. Meanwhile, if you want noise-cancelling from Beats, you're looking at the Studio Pro, which, even on sale, comes in at £239. No doubt they're a solid pair, but for that kind of money, my next buy will be the JBLs instead. I've done my fair share of audio reviews; enough to trust my ears, and spot where you're getting more for your money. I've had hands-on time with both Beats and JBL, and while Beats has the style points, JBL edges ahead on what it offers for its price point. Take the Solo 4s, for example. I tested them in my Beats Solo 4 review; solid sound, no complaints there, but they don't have noise cancelling. For that, you've got to jump up to the Studio Pros, and again, that's a big price leap. So when I spotted the Tune 770s for under £60, I knew I'd found a hidden gem. They do offer noise cancelling, have a massive 70-hour battery life (compared to 40 on Beats), punching well above their price tag. And JBL knows its audio. I saw just how impressive their bass and clarity can be when I tested their gear in my JBL Flip 7 review. Yes, headphones and speakers are different beasts, but that same attention to detail will be baked into the Tune 770s. One shopper praised the noise-cancelling, saying "highly effective and something I now realise I had been missing out on for quite some time." While another said, "It shocked me a little at first at how quiet everything was. "I've only been using them for 4 hours & the sound quality has blown my mind," they continued. best noise-cancelling headphones you can buy.

Is there a problem with Vodafone? Users reporting problems

There are thousands of reports of issues with mobile services on Downdetector, while customers across the UK have also taken to social media to alert other users. One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "Vodafone down, Three down, EE down - whats happening?" Vodafone did eventually respond to one customer, noting they were experiencing 'technical issues'. Hey there 👋 We're really sorry, but due to some technical issues some customers will be experiencing issues making or receiving calls, we know how important it is for you to have this working and we're working really hard to fix this as soon as possible. Abhay Newsquest have contacted Vodafone for a response. Downdetector is an online website that allows users of popular services, including X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, Virgin Media and more, to report if they are having trouble with the services. The site only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day. Describing itself on its website, Downdetector is 'where people go when services don't work.' The website monitors disruptions to various key services, including the internet, web hosting platforms, banks, social media and more. You can see the full methodology and learn more about how Downdetector collects status information and detects problems via its website. In short, users can get involved by submitting any issue reports on the platform. Problem indicators are also collected from social media and other factors on the web, Downdetector explained. Recommended reading: These reports are then validated and analysed in real-time. An incident is then detected if the number of reports is significantly higher than the typical average for that particular service. When a user goes to investigate the issue, they can see what the most reported problems are currently and check if their areas are in one of the outage hotspots. Do you use Downdetector? Book lovers can pick up a cheaper 16GB Kindle Colorsoft as new device launches

Kindle has launched a cheaper version of the Colorsoft and a kids version of the device Those who love to pick up a good book and just relax are in luck because Amazon has launched a brand new Kindle Colorsoft - perfect for those who want to immerse themselves even more. The new Kindle Colorsoft has 16GB of space instead of the usual 32GB. Shoppers can grab it for £239.99 instead of the £269.99 cost of the 32GB version and they'll also get three months of Kindle Unlimited. It has everything book lovers love about Kindle in colour. Including a high-contrast Colorsoft display, fast page turns, an adjustable warm light, weeks of battery life, and access to the incredible Kindle bookstore. Readers can browse covers in colour in their Kindle Library, experience graphic novels coming to life in colour, see book photos and images in colour, or add highlights in yellow, orange, blue, and pink, which can be filtered through later. Plus, for customers who prefer to read on pages with a dark background, there's a new Page Colour feature that will invert the black text and white backgrounds of the pages inside books. Kindle has also launched a kids' version of Colorsoft. This includes an illustrated cover, one year of Amazon Kids+, and a two-year worry-free guarantee - at a more expensive £259.99. For readers looking for an alternative, shoppers can get the Kobo Clara for £129.99. It has good reviews from shoppers with many praising their ability to download 'free books from their local library'. There's also the colour version of the Kobo for £209.99 - as a rival to Coloursoft. It is compatible with the Kobo Stylus 2 for marking up notes on pages. As the 16GB version of the Colorsoft is new there are no reviews on amazon yet, however there are plenty of glowing reviews of the existing bigger 32GB Colorsoft version. One reviewer said: "After weeks of researching which Kindle to buy, my partner kindly treated me to the Kindle Colorsoft and I adore it. It's so lightweight and the colour screen is stunning (especially with the vibrant mode selected). "We chose this one because I love seeing in colour book covers and I wanted a waterproof Kindle so I could read in the hot tub/by the pool/in the bath. No issues with my device." Another said: "Bought this as my second Kindle to have at home while my Paperwhite Signature edition travels in my bag with me so I am never without my Kindle! I was a bit worried I would notice the quality difference compared to the Paperwhite but the Colorsoft is a great reading experience and I don't notice any graininess. I am really enjoying reading on it." One user who gave it three stars out of five pointed out they found it heavy, stating: "Just a little too big and heavy for my usual one-handed reading with my Paperwhite. I can live without colour covers and highlights until they make it smaller!" While a different user praised the screen in sunny situations. They said: "This is a beautiful Kindle. If you read on your Kindle a lot it is so worth it. The colours are very pretty, it's perfect hand size and easy to navigate. "I absolutely love it and feel it's worth every considerable penny! The screen is brilliant in sunlight and the light quality is great for darker moments. If you want a real book reader's treat, this is one to have."
