Kashmir dispute: JI advocates participation of Kashmiris in talks
In result of the inclusion of the real party the dialogues will be more effective and result oriented, the resolution said, adding if this is not happened then the peace of South Asia will be destroyed due to the confrontation of the two nuclear armed powers and its effects will last for a long time.
The resolution was presented by Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Khan.
The three-day meeting of the newly elected Majlis-e-Shura chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman concluded on Sunday at Mansoorah.
The Shura declared that India only understands the language of power and not negotiations. The resolution says that it has been proved in the recent war that India wanted to divert the world attention from Kashmir. It said India considered itself powerful but Pakistan's timely response not only resulted in its humiliation but also exposed its disgusting character at the international level.
The resolution says that Pakistan in these circumstances instead of expressing any kind of weakness should speed up its efforts at diplomatic and armed front in favour of legitimate right of Kashmiris. It said that this is the opportunity for securing which the nations have to wait for years. It said that the Kashmiris expectations have been increased due to the excellent opportunity granted by Almighty Allah to Pakistan. At any level of negotiations the first and unwavering demand would be that India should restore prior 5th August 2019 (Article 370 and 35-A) position so that the Kashmir dispute should remain as dispute in front of the world.
The Shura demanded that Pakistan should stress that if respect for the international peace, principles and justice is required then the Kashmiris should have to be given the right to self-determination, which has been guaranteed several times by United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The resolution says Pakistan and India temporarily agreed on ceasefire due to international pressure but India is an unpredictable country which has never fulfilled its promises.
The resolution says that Pakistan while participating in any negotiation process should demand that India should end military siege of Jammu and Kashmir while considering it a basic issue. It said that India should end the human rights violations and allow entry of the human rights organizations and independent media in the state.
The Kashmiri leadership incarcerated in detention centers from last many years should be released, India should quit efforts to construct damns to limit Pakistani share of water while respecting the Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
The resolution says in the negotiations the international monitoring and mediation of IWT should be stressed. The resolution says that the meeting hopes that Pakistan will not let go in waste the best opportunity of freedom of Jammu and Kashmir.

Administration summoned over illegal demolition
Following the demolition of a building next to the Harno river despite the status-quo order issued by the court, the Additional District Judge has summoned the DPO Deputy Commissioner, Irrigation Director, GDA Director General and revenue staff including Assistant Commissioner and other relevant authorities to appear before it on July 16, 2025, for non-compliance. As per the specifics of the case, the Abbottabad administration had launched an anti-encroachment drive against constructions near the river in Harno following the tragic incident in which a group of 18 fell into the river during a flash flood in Swat. One particular building on the banks of the river was owned by Abid Ali, an overseas Pakistani, who had obtained a restraining order and completed the necessary legal documents. However, the administration proceeded with the demolition of Ali's building, after which filed a case against it. The Additional Sessions Judge has summoned the Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Captain (retd) Sanaullah Khan, Abbottabad DPO Omar Tufail, TMO Mian Shafique, GDA Director General and other relevant authorities to appear before the court on July 16, 2025. The appellants also filed a contempt of court application against the accused for non-compliance with court orders, following which the court has suspended the operation. The court will review the case and determine the next course of action. The outcome of the case may have significant implications for the administration's approach to demolitions. Meanwhile, Abid Ali has also lodged a complaint with overseas Pakistan foundation.

Tribes say no to any security operation in Waziristan
A powerful and unprecedented protest unfolded in North Waziristan tribal district on Friday as thousands of tribesmen took to the streets to oppose a potential military operation in the region. The protest reached its peak in Mir Ali, one of the area's most important towns, where demonstrators offered Friday prayers in congregation on a two-kilometer stretch of the main highway, effectively shutting down commercial activity and sending a strong political message. The protest, far more than a religious gathering, served as a peaceful but forceful public referendum against what locals see as government's destructive policies. With shops closed and the slogan "Operation Not Accepted" resonating throughout the area, it marked a significant moment of political awareness, public unity, and resistance. Leading the prayers and protest was Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) MNA Mufti Misbahuddin, who declared during his sermon: "This prayer is the nation's peaceful rejection of any possible operation. We are standing for the protection of our homes, lands, markets, and children. No power can displace us again." He added that tribal communities had established peace in the past and will not accept "devastation in the name of peace" again. Mufti Baitullah, speaking on behalf of the Utmanzai tribal council, announced three key decisions: If a military operation is launched in any village, the entire population will come out of their homes in protest. Peaceful demonstrations will be held across the region, urging people not to vacate their houses. Shops and homes will not be abandoned under any circumstances. Traders from towns including Miranshah, Mir Ali, Khaddi, Harmuz, Hassu Khel, and Epi voiced their frustration, saying that damages from the 2014 Zarb-e-Azb operation have still not been compensated. Haji Gul Muhammad, a local shopkeeper, said: "We rebuilt our shops on loans, restarted businesses from scratch, but every few months we hear of another operation. Our lives are stuck in uncertainty." He recalled how women were forced to live for months in open fields, schools, and tent camps during the last displacement. "This time, if they come, we won't leave. We'll sit in front of them." After Zarb-e-Azb, over 7,500 shops in Miranshah and more than 800 in Mir Ali were completely destroyed. More than 2,000 homes suffered partial or complete damage, and commercial goods worth millions of rupees were lost to looting or fire. Tribal elder Nisar Ali Khan revealed that they've been informed of preparations for a "clearance operation" in certain areas. "We will not stay silent this time," he warned, pointing to past incidents of forced displacement, extrajudicial arrests, and human rights violations during military operations. "Today, the people of North Waziristan have told the world they are peacefulbut they will not offer further sacrifices. Their patience has run out." He cautioned that if the government ignores the public's voice, future tribal resistance may intensifynot just on the streets, but also within legal and political frameworks. This mass protest comes amid a backdrop of rising violence in the region, including skirmishes between security forces and terrorists, roadside bombings, and multiple suicide attacks. Locals believe these incidents are being used as a pretext to launch a fresh military campaign.

Gandapur dismisses rift, defends budget
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has dismissed any speculation regarding the stability of his government, stating that all members are united and no one is defecting. "If anyone is eager to bring a no-confidence motion, they are welcome to try — it will only expose the truth," he remarked. He added that had the budget not been passed, the government would have collapsed, and the blame would lie solely with PTI, while opponents would be celebrating. Speaking informally to senior journalists at the Chief Minister's House in Peshawar on Friday, Gandapur reiterated his call to the federal government to open trade routes with Afghanistan — from Chitral to Angoor Adda in Waziristan. "This move will not only boost trade but also ensure regional peace," he said. He also urged that individuals with legal status and those wishing to acquire Pakistani citizenship should be granted it, to promote foreign investment in the province. Gandapur addressed internal party tensions surrounding the budget, stating, "There was propaganda from within that the budget shouldn't be presented, and once it was, noise was made about not passing it. However, when Barrister Saif briefed our party's Patron-in-Chief, he expressed satisfaction with the budget's approval." He revealed that only two members abstained from voting for the budget, adding, "Everyone knows who they're aligned with." He hinted that more clarity on internal matters will emerge once the newly elected members of the provincial assembly are sworn in, and said the party's strategy will be shaped accordingly. The chief minister also explained that due to recent legal interpretations, none of the current assembly members are officially affiliated with PTI, as the Supreme Court's previous decision has been nullified following the July 21 Senate ruling. "Everyone is now considered independent, except me," he emphasized. "I'm still a PTI member, as I listed PTI as my party affiliation in my nomination papers." Responding to criticism over alleged extravagant spending, Gandapur clarified: "I didn't spend Rs115 million on biscuits. That amount was used to provide meals for 400 Class-IV staff members at the CM House and Secretariat." He defended his fiscal record, noting, "While I do spend, I've also saved Rs250 billion. It's the responsibility of political leaders to keep bureaucracy in check — and we will do that." While acknowledging that corruption hasn't been entirely eradicated, Gandapur claimed significant control has been achieved. "I'm accountable not for 12 years but for the 15 months of my current tenure," he added. He concluded by announcing plans to revive closed industries in the province by ensuring the provision of low-cost electricity.
