Hot Genesis GV60 Magma Strips Off Ahead Of Imminent Reveal
The Genesis GV60 was recently updated in several meaningful ways, but the upmarket sibling to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 still has no answer to that car's N variant. Happily, that will be changing soon with the introduction of the GV60 Magma, which our spies have now captured with less concealing camouflage than ever before. The production bodywork now appears to have been finalized, and although there is still some vinyl hiding the full look, we can definitely see that this will stand out in a crowd. Even if ordered in a subtle shade like this nondescript grey, the Magma orange calipers give the crossover presence, as do the aero enhancements.

GV60 Looks Way Racier Than Ioniq 5 N
The Magma variant takes the narrow front side intakes and expands them to meet the lower central grille, which makes the headlights seem more aggressive despite carrying over unchanged from the regular GV60. The taillights also appear to be unaltered, and the rearview camera stalks are also unchanged from the GV60 sold in other markets (here, they're not legal). The side skirts are more textured and chunkier, though, and on the tailgate, an aggressive wing with sharp endplates will ensure that the electric crossover grabs attention even when standing still. Finally, the rear fascia has a larger diffuser panel and the wheel arches bulge out a little further. With the exception of the wheels, this prototype looks almost identical to the GV60 Magma Concept revealed in New York last year.
GV60 Magma To Be Revealed Next Month
The AMG-targeting Magma sub-brand's GV60 will reportedly be built atop an 800-volt architecture that will enable ultra-fast charging speeds (on compatible chargers, of course). It will also be quick to get you from one place to another, with insiders suggesting that this will develop over 700 horsepower, beating not only the 641-hp Ioniq 5 N (with N Grin Boost enabled, 601 hp otherwise) but also established sports crossovers like the BMW X3 M, which develops 510 hp. We expect to learn the final figure and additional performance details next month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 10-13), where the GV60 Magma is expected to be launched in production form. Expect it to reach dealerships towards the end of this year or early in 2026.

An 800V electrical architecture will mean the iX3's battery will also be able to charge at up to 400kW, enabling a 218-mile top-up in just 10 minutes from suitable chargers. Two powertrains will be available when the iX3 arrives in the UK early next year: a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive one and a dual-motor, four-wheel drive one that can deliver up to 402bhp. The double-kidney grille will divide a large, gloss black panel on the iX3's front end – similar in style to the Vizor found on Vauxhalls. The panel is likely to conceal the sensors and cameras required by the latest generation of driver assistance systems. The rest of the car will feature a boxier, more chiselled look than today's models, with angled lights front and rear, plus a rear light bar. The reinvention continues inside the iX3, which will be the fi rst car to employ BMW's new iDrive X system.

Continental Q2 tyre margins hit by tariffs, currency headwinds
Aug 5 (Reuters) - German car parts supplier Continental ( opens new tab reported a slightly lower than expected second-quarter profit margin at its core tyres business on Tuesday, citing headwinds related to U.S. import tariffs and foreign exchange rates. The company said its adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margin rose 12% in the April-June period, down from 14.7% a year ago, compared to a company-compiled consensus of 12.5%. In June, the firm cut its profitability targets for both its core tyre business and the broader group. Continental is in the process of splitting off two of its three businesses, seeking to reposition itself as a pure-play tyre maker that it hopes will leave it better placed to handle a volatile market rattled by tariffs imposed by the United States. The automotive division generated profit margin of 4%, higher than 3.8% expected by analysts, thanks to cost-cutting measures and sustained price adjustments, the company said, adding it showed a positive momentum ahead of its listing on stock exchange on September 18. "We've worked hard to make our group sectors more resilient and more agile," CEO Nikolai Setzer said in a statement.
