Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 4: Aamir Khan's sports comedy has already beaten his notorious Rs 180 crore flop, hits Rs 60 crore mark
Its opening weekend collection stood at Rs 58.15, comfortably crossing the Rs 50 crore mark in three days. Despite the significant drop on Monday, Sitaare Zameen Par has managed to not only cross the crucial Monday test, but also breached the lifetime domestic box office collection of Aamir's last film, Advait Chandan's Laal Singh Chaddha, which released in 2022.
With no streaming premiere in sight and three more days sans any major competition, Sitaare Zameen Par should be able to take its haul past the Rs 100 crore mark this weekend. This Friday, on June 27, it'll begin competing with Vishal Furia's mythological horror film Maa, starring Kajol, which comes from the world of her husband Ajay Devgn's hit Shaitaan last year.
'Right now, it's a famine or feast situation at the box office. Either the films are not doing any business at all, or the one or two that people are loving are going through the roof, earning more than Rs 500 crore. The whole middle chunk has vanished. Why? Because I'm watching them on Netflix or Amazon,' Aamir told SCREEN in an interview before the film's release. 'Which is why I've come up with the decision to release Sitaare Zameen Par only in theatres. It'll premiere on television or streaming only after one year. My loyalty is with the theatres and my trust in my audience,' he added.
The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) lauded Aamir's decision to release Sitaare Zameen Par exclusively in theatres. Taking to their X handle, the MAI shared an appreciation letter for Aamir, calling the actor's decision a 'significant moment' for all the cinema operators in India.
In the letter shared on Thursday, MAI wrote, 'Multiplex Association of India (MAI) proudly applauds Mr. Aamir Khan for his visionary and resolute decision to release his film, Sitaare Zameen Par, exclusively in theatres on 20 June 2025. In an era wherein media and distribution platforms have become increasingly fragmented, Aamir Khan's choice to back the theatrical format reaffirms the enduring power of the big-screen experience.'

Sitaare Zameen Par is the official Hindi adaptation of 2018 Spanish film Campeones. It's also the spiritual sequel to Aamir's 2007 directorial debut Taare Zameen Par. The film also stars Genelia D'Souza, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Brijendra Kala, and also launches 10 new actors. It's produced by Aamir and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions.

Exclusive: Saiyaara producer reacts to viral clips of fans fainting, crying
Mohit Suri's 'Saiyaara' has taken the box office by storm, emerging as the sleeper hit of 2025. The film is on a record-breaking run and is already being hailed as one of the most successful love stories of all time. But beyond its commercial triumph, 'Saiyaara' has also sparked a frenzy online, with viral Instagram Reels showing audience members fainting, crying uncontrollably, and even hooked to IV drips after watching the growing speculation about whether these intense reactions were part of a planned promotional campaign, the film's producer and YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, has now addressed the buzz. Setting the record straight, Widhani clarified that the videos circulating online are not part of any PR or marketing strategy initiated by the claims that the emotionally charged clips were orchestrated for publicity, Akshaye Widhani told India Today that "none of those people were planted in theatres." He added, 'Whether it's the person on a drip, the one yelling at the screen, or the guy who took off his shirt and danced - these are genuine fans reacting with real emotions. It's funny when you start receiving calls from people telling you how much they cried, and you're actually thanking them for it. You find yourself saying, 'We're happy you cried,' because that's the kind of emotional connection Mohit has managed to create after so long. This experience of going to the cinema and feeling something so deeply - I honestly can't remember the last time it happened.'During the same interview with us, director Mohit Suri expressed gratitude for the film's reception. Talking about the barrage of calls he received after the film's release, the director said, 'Everyone has been calling, and what's really amazing is that I've worked on films before where only a section of people connected with it - some liked it, some didn't. But with this one, the response has come from across the added, "Directors, filmmakers, actors - everyone has been reaching out. And for the first time, it feels genuinely heartfelt. Usually, even when a film does well, you can tell when people are just being polite. But this time, there's been a sincere sense of love and support, which has been incredibly encouraging. It feels like 'Saiyaara' has given people a voice they were waiting to express. For me personally, the most meaningful moment has been when Akshay calls to share the box office figures - it's been truly heartening.'The emotional drama, with soul-stirring music and standout performances by Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has become the second-highest-grossing film of the year. Within just 12 days, it raked in more than Rs 265 crore in India and surpassed Rs 400 crore globally.- EndsTrending Reel

After Finding Love At 49, Sohail Khan's Ex-Wife Seema Sajdeh Says, "Infidelity Is Not A Deal-Breaker"
New Delhi: Sohail Khan's ex-wife and fashion designer Seema Sajdeh rose to fame after she featured in the Netflix reality series Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. During a recent conversation with Filmfare, Seema Sajdeh opened up about her equation with current boyfriend Vikram Ahuja, whom she was engaged to before she eloped with Sohail Khan in 1998. Seema also said that infidelity is not a deal-breaker for her in a marriage. What's Happening Seema and Sohail called it quits after 24 years of their marriage in 2022. While she never discussed the reason behind her separation, she said she can't tolerate "disrespect" in a relationship. Asked if infidelity was a reason, she explained, "I am not condoning infidelity but people do slip. It all depends on the situation and how you navigate through that phase and what you learn from it. Personally, I wouldn't regard infidelity as a deal-breaker, especially when you have children. Their stability comes before yours. Nevertheless, people separate and get divorced for various reasons. I am no one to judge." Speaking about her "companionship" with Vikram, Seema said, "I have known Vikram since I was 13. We grew up together. Getting engaged was natural as we'd been seeing each other for so long. Eventually, our paths deviated because we were too young. Today, it's more of a solid friendship, a companionship that we enjoy. At this age, it's not the butterflies in your stomach feeling. Rather it's a sense of stability that I look for, something that will stay for the long run." Asked if marriage is on the cards, Seema shared, "I am going to be 49 soon. I have two children. My partner has two children. He's got a life. I have a life. And we both have a life together. When you are together without expecting anything, it's beautiful. I am not dependent on Vikram for anything. He's not dependent on me either. So being together is a conscious choice we have made without the pressure of getting married. We are comfortable and secure with each other. A piece of paper is not going to change that." Seema's Family Life Seema and Sohail got divorced in 2022. They are parents to two sons, Nirvaan and Yohaan. After their divorce, they continue to co-parent their sons. They were seen on family vacations after parting ways. In A Nutshell Seema Sajdeh said that she doesn't feel pressure to get married to her current boyfriend Vikram Ahuja, whom she was engaged to before getting married to Sohail.
