Conor McGregor teases stunning return at UFC White House event... as he claims he's 'heading to the Oval Office again'
The Irish MMA star has not stepped foot inside the octagon since July 2021, where he suffered a horror leg break against American fighter Dustin Poirier.
McGregor was set to face rival Michael Chandler last summer but, after months of fight build-up, was forced to pull out of the bout due to a toe injury.
While many fans have given up hope of McGregor making, yet another, comeback to the sport, it appears as though he's dangled the carrot in front of them once again.
Speaking at a press conference for a Bare Knuckle FC event - a promotion which McGregor is a co-owner of - the Irishman revealed the stunning news.
He said: 'It's looking like I'm headed to the Oval Office again. That's where I'm headed next'. His statement was met by a round of applause from fans in attendance.

McGregor's claim comes just days after he posted on X claiming that he was keen to feature on the White House card.
He wrote: 'Accuracy is final. I've most KO's of all by a long shot and I've been chilling on my yachts the last 4 years.
'To return at the White House with my sniper accuracy would be a very intriguing offer and would bring me back in to focus on my return correctly'.
President Donald Trump announced that he wants a card to take place at the White House during America's 250th birthday next July - which lead to McGregor's interest.
As part of his victory lap after Congress passed his 'Big Beautiful Bill', Trump mentioned ways that the United States would celebrate its 250th birthday next July.
Among the programming would be a mixed martial arts event inside The Octagon steps from the Oval Office.
'And I even think we're going to have a UFC fight... Does anybody watch UFC and the great Dana White?' Trump asked the crowd of MAGA faithful.
'We're going to have a UFC fight. We're going to have a UFC fight,' Trump continued. 'Think of this - on the grounds of the White House.'
'We have a lot of land there,' he continued. 'We're going to build a little - we're not, Dana's going to do it, Dana's great, one of a kind - we're going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20-25,000 people.'
MMA fans were not thrilled of the idea of a UFC card on the White House grounds, especially after a resurfaced clip of White showed his disdain for mixing sports with politics.
McGregor previously made a visit to the White House back in March, to mark St. Patrick's Day, and he used his platform to fire shots at Ireland's Prime Minister.
He claimed that rampant immigration was leading to Ireland 'potentially losing its Irishness'.
In the days that followed his remarkable visit to Washington, the 36-year-old lifted the lid on his interactions, claimed to have had 'productive meetings' with senior officials and sported the lesser-seen 'Make Ireland Great Again' cap.
One post that followed his visit contained images of a meeting with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth. McGregor wrote: 'Tremendously productive meeting!'
Meanwhile, along with McGregor, UFC legend Jon Jones has teased a comeback to the sport amid interest in the same White House event next year.
Last week, the 37-year-old took to social media to claim he had re-entered the company's drug-testing pool, just two weeks after calling time on his career.
UFC President Dana White had previously revealed Jones' intent to hang up his gloves and confirmed that a fight against British star Tom Aspinall would not happen.
However, it seems that the prospect of featuring on a UFC card that would take place on the White House lawn has proved too tempting for Jones to ignore.

July 31 (Reuters) - World number nine Holger Rune said his brief collaboration with Andre Agassi had given him a unique insight into how the eight-times Grand Slam champion viewed the game and hopes to use the advice he received to take his game to the next level. Rune announced himself as one of the sport's most promising young talents three years ago by winning his first Masters title in Paris after beating four top-10 players and defeating Novak Djokovic in the final. However, the 22-year-old has had limited success since, winning just two more titles and failing to advance beyond the quarter-final stage at the Grand Slams. With fellow young guns Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner now dominating the game's biggest events, Rune turned to American great Agassi earlier this month in Washington for a three-day training block. "It was insane. I've never met a guy who sees tennis that way and I found it interesting," Rune told the Tennis Channel at the Canadian Open in Toronto. "He makes things simple on the court. Sometimes tennis can be a difficult sport and sometimes it can be a very easy sport. There's always a reason why it's this or that. "Some of the advice he gave me was very helpful. To share those three days, for him to get a look at my game, it was just amazing. My coach Lars (Christensen) appreciated it too, they talked a little bit and we're still in touch." Rune said Agassi's tactics had struck a chord with him even though the Dane never watched him play growing up. "I've watched so many YouTube clips with him on how he was taking the ball early," Rune added. "It was so clear to see how he was making life easy for himself on the court ... it was a bit before my time so I didn't grow up watching Andre. But to look back at how tennis was then was really interesting to see." Rune beat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Toronto and next plays Alexandre Muller as he builds up for the August 24-September 7 U.S. Open.

Ricky Hatton's ex-promoter reveals concerns over boxing legend's comeback plans
Ricky Hatton 's former promoter, Dennis Hobson, does not want him to return to competitive boxing. Hobson believes that Hatton's 'best days are behind him' and a return to the ring could be damaging to the memory of his Hall of Fame career. Hobson told The Star: 'Obviously, his 'sell-by' date has gone. I love Ricky and what he brings to the table, and he's still got a lot of support, but you know his best days are behind him.' Hatton, 46, is scheduled to fight for the first time in 13 years on 2 December in Dubai against veteran Eisa Aldah, also 46. The Sheffield promoter drew a comparison to another recently returned legend, Mike Tyson, who had his first professional fight in nearly 20 years when he fought Jake Paul last year. Hobson explained: "You saw what Mike Tyson was like when he fought Jake Paul, it was sad to watch, and I don't want the same for Ricky because I've got a lot of time for him. Jake Paul called out by former four-weight champion Adrien Broner: ‘I'd knock you out'
A former four-weight world champion has called for a fight with Jake Paul and vowed to knock the YouTuber-turned-boxer out. Adrien Broner won his first world title at super featherweight in 2011 and went on to claim belts at lightweight, super-lightweight and welterweight before suffering his first defeat by Marcos Maidana in December 2013. Inactivity has plagued Broner's career ever since, and he has not fought since losing a points decision to fellow American Blair Cobbs last June. Broner has also encountered issues away from the ring, but now appears to be keen on a comeback and has his sights firmly set on Paul. Many of Paul's opponents have been at the backend of their careers, and Broner would fit into this category after turning 36 earlier this week.
