Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens full post-NBA draft presser
Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens sat down with the media in a post-2025 NBA draft press conference soon after the Celtics elected to take Spanish small forward Hugo Gonzalez with the No. 28 overall pick of the draft on Wednesday (June 25) evening. Stevens had a host of things to address with the press, with Boston having dealt away veteran guard Jrue Holiday for Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons and two first round draft picks, and having traded Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team deal that brought back reserve forward Georges Niang and a second round pick.
The Celtics president also touched on Boston's plans with free agent big men Al Horford and Luke Kornet, the thinking behind drafting Gonzalez in the first round, how the team is viewing their offseason mandates, and more.
The folks behind the "CLNS Media Boston Sports Network" YouTube channel put together a clip of Stevens' full media availability session from after the draft on Wednesday. Check it out below!

NBA Fans React to Celtics Trade Report on Saturday
NBA Fans React to Celtics Trade Report on Saturday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Boston Celtics have stayed firmly in the headlines this offseason, making major moves to duck the second apron. They started by sending guard Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and then moved Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks — both deals reshaping the supporting cast around Jayson Tatum (once he eventually returns from an achilles injury) and Jaylen Brown while adding future assets. Advertisement Despite those blockbuster moves, the Celtics continue to draw trade speculation involving other key pieces. Derrick White, who emerged as one of Boston's most reliable two-way contributors during their title run, has surfaced in multiple rumors. Boston Celtics guard Derrick White (9).Bob DeChiara-Imagn Images According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Celtics reportedly have demanded a 'Mikal Bridges–type package' in return for Derrick White. Bridges was dealt from the Brooklyn Nets to the New York Knicks for five first round picks. 'Sources say Boston told at least one rival team that it would have insisted on a 'Mikal Bridges-type' package to part with Derrick White, league sources say," he wrote. "The Celtics have certainly received no shortage of inbound trade calls on both White and Jaylen Brown in recent days, but nothing got serious on either front.' Fans were quick to react to the report, questioning whether White truly commands that kind of return. Advertisement Some pointed to his age, with one fan posting, 'A Mikal Bridges package for a guy who's turning 31 in a week.' 'Celtics must be desperate if they're settling for 'Mikal Bridges' tier players,' one fan wrote. 'I want whatever the Celtics are smoking,' another fan added. "Empty the piggy bank for White?" another fan questioned. "Good luck only brooklyn and NY do that," another fan said. "Imagine the Jaylen brown asking price," another fan posted.
