DeMaurice Smith book slams Roger Goodell, Aaron Rodgers, Jerry Jones

Smith calls Goodell "a cold, dark void" who "was in the employ of madmen."
Jones is characterized as stingy despite his estimated net worth extending into the tens of billions in recent years.
Smith writes, "If Jerry Jones saw a dollar bill on the ground, I truly believe he'd stop and pick it up."
NFL COLLUSION: In stunning ruling, arbitrator finds NFL encouraged collusion
Jones is one of the main names called out in the book, though Smith doesn't let the rest of owners off the hook either. Awful Announcing's report on the early copy of "Turf Wars" includes that its author calls the overall group of NFL owners "a cabal of greedy billionaires."
Notably, and despite the general characterization of NFL owners, Patriots owner Robert Kraft receives a nod in the acknowledgements section of Smith's book, according to Awful Announcing.
The worst of all top NFL officials, according to Smith, is Pash, who retired in 2024 after 40 years of working with the league.
Smith calls Pash "definitely the most unscrupulous. In a corporation filled with ruthless people, Pash has everyone else beat."
AARON RODGERS: Steelers QB hosts DK Metcalf, other teammates for Malibu workout
Smith didn't stop at calling out NFL executives, either. Awful Announcing reported that the former head of the NFLPA called Rodgers "the god of Cheesehead Nation" and "isolated and dismissive."
Writes Smith: "He sat in the back row of the meeting room, issuing loud sighs before standing for a dramatic exit. An incredible quarterback, to be sure, but an even more impressive antagonist."
That wasn't all.
"In August 2021, my phone chirped with a text from Aaron Rodgers," Smith writes. "'Can you call me?' it read. Could I not run into traffic instead?"
Smith's criticism of players didn't stop with Rodgers. Also on the chopping block is Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, who Smith calls out for criticizing players that kneeled during the national anthem because it "may be hurting the game and having an effect on revenue."
NFL 2025: Predicting the 4 most explosive offensive players in the league
Smith served as the NFLPA's executive director from 2009 until 2023. During his tenure, he dealt with the 2011 NFL lockout amid new contract bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and the "Deflategate" incident from the 2014 AFC championship game.
Smith also was the man who filed the initial complaint with arbitrator Christopher Droney that accused NFL owners of collusion. Droney ultimately dismissed the case, though not before noting in a 61-page document that the NFL Management Council "encouraged 32 member Clubs of the NFL to reduce guarantees in future contracts with players at the March 2022 annual meeting."
The report ultimately found that NFL owners had not been engaging in collusive conduct, but the document remained under wraps until Pablo Torre unveiled it on his podcast, "Pablo Torre Finds Out" late last month.

Simone Biles flaunts eye-popping new look in string bikini after sparking boob job rumors

Simone Biles continued to fuel rumors that she's had a secret breast augmentation with sizzling new vacation photos. The 28-year-old Olympic gymnast — who was recently embroiled in a feud with Riley Gaines — showed off her busty new look in snaps shared to her Instagram on Monday. The athlete wore a Fendi bikini that highlighted her ample cleavage as she enjoyed a getaway to Belize with her NFL player husband Jonathan Owens, 29. In one snap Simone was pictured relaxing in a cabana with a drink. Her sultry bikini look was accessorized with a gold chain and eyeglasses. Another showed her cozying up to the football player, wearing a pair of black mesh pants. There was also a snap of Simone — who seemed to have a noticeably smaller chest in a Sports Illustrated photoshoot from January — dipping her toes in the water while taking a photo on a disposable camera. Meanwhile Owens sported a graphic short-sleeve set and matching shorts. It comes days after Simone sparked speculation she's had a secret breast enlargement after posting a series of snaps from her tropical getaway. She unveiled a glaring new busty look while posing in a string bikini. The new snaps set the internet is alight with surgery rumors, with Dana Omari - who runs a popular plastic surgery-themed account @IGFamousByDana - among those reposting the image to her stories to offer her thoughts. Omari speculated that the sports star had work done on her breasts by penning, 'Simone Biles with the breast aug!! She looks incredible.' Biles has not yet publicly addressed the speculation. The athlete - who has previously admitted to using Botox - also uploaded a selfie that showcase a closer look at her new cleavage while she posed in a mirror. Last year, the gymnast revealed that she had Botox in celebration of her 27th birthday - but was not a fan of the procedure. In a TikTok video, she explained: 'For my 27th birthday I got Botox, like baby botox, in my T-zone and I did not like it. 'I haven't got it again because I would be standing there in practice and my eyebrow would randomly go like this [pulls it up]. So not doing that again.' During a past interview with Vogue, Biles opened up about her body image and dealing with past negative comments. 'They focused on my hair. They focused on how big my legs were,' the star told the outlet. 'But God made me this way, and I feel like if I didn't have these legs or these calves, I wouldn't be able to tumble as high as I can and have all of these moves named after me.' While talking to Harper's Bazaar last year, Simone also talked about how her confidence has evolved over the years. 'My relationship with beauty has changed a lot over time, sometimes with the trends and sometimes not.' The gold medalist added, 'Now, I would still say my personal preference is always having a clean face and just being confident in who I am. 'I'll have semi-permanent lashes the majority of the time, even if I don't have make-up on, but I think that it's really special to fall in love with what your natural face looks like.' She later reflected, 'For athletes, I think that beauty looks a little bit different for us. We love the fun aspects of beauty but it's not what we do everyday.' Biles also expressed, 'I do think that beauty standards are changing when it comes to that; it's okay to not be wearing as much make-up when we're out there performing, because that's not the main focus.' Simone competed last year for Team U.S.A. at the 2024 Paris Olympics - and she has since shared that she plans to attend the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, but doesn't know if she will compete. 'Whether on the [gymnastics] apparatus or in the stands, I still don't know that,' she told the French outlet L'Equipe, per The Guardian. 'But 2028 seems so far away, and my body is aging. I felt it in Paris.' 'I went back to the [Olympic] village, I took the elevator and my body literally collapsed. I was sick for 10 days,' Biles recalled. 'The other day, we were sprinting in the garden with friends, I had aches and pains for three days. So, I honestly don't know. We'll see.' Simone has recently been embroiled in a feud with former swimmer Riley Gaines. Last month in June, Biles publicly disagreed with Gaines' views on trans athletes in sports. Weeks later, the Olympic star deleted her X account, but it has since been activated once again. It came after she came to the defense of a transgender high school athlete that Gaines had been attacking. But after Biles personally insulted Gaines - for which she later apologized - it opened up a flood gate of attacks. Gaines decided to deliver a parting shot to the gymnast, despite saying that she'd be interested in forming an alliance with her. Gaines claimed that Biles 'has an incredibly unpopular and morally indefensible take - gets rightfully ridiculed for it - issues a groveling public apology after unrelenting backlash - deletes account to pretend it never happened.' Riley attacked a Minnesota high school on social media for fielding a softball team with a trans player. This came after she also led the charge against a trans girl competing in track events in California. Biles snapped, lashing out at Gaines and calling her views 'truly sick', before getting personal and telling her to 'bully someone your own size, which would ironically be male'. A few days later, Biles apologized to Gaines for the personal remarks, saying, 'These are sensitive, complicated issues that I truly don't have the answers or solutions to, but I believe it starts with empathy and respect. 'I was not advocating for policies that compromise fairness in women's sports. My objection is to be singling out children for public scrutiny in ways that feel personal and harmful. 'Individual athletes - especially kids - should never be the focus of criticism of a flawed system they have no control over.' 'I believe sports organizations have a responsibility to come up with rules supporting inclusion while maintaining fair competition. We all want a future for sport that is fair, inclusive, and respectful.' While Gaines accepted the apology at the time, she continued to criticize Biles for her views and opinion.

Patrick Mahomes reveals advice Tom Brady gave him after Super Bowl nightmare

Patrick Mahomes has opened up on the priceless advice he received from Tom Brady on the back of his miserable performance at Super Bowl LIX earlier this year. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback endured a nightmare outing in their crushing defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, a result which ended their hopes of pulling off a historic three-peat. In a rare off-night on the big stage, Mahomes, 29, threw two costly interceptions for the Chiefs - one of which was returned for a touchdown - and was sacked a total of six times as the Eagles ran out 40-22 winners. And almost five months on from that disastrous showing he has revealed Brady was recently on hand with some words of wisdom in the offseason. 'I've talked to Tom a good amount this offseason, and it's cool that he wants to give me advice,' Mahomes said in an interview with Kay Adams for her 'Up & Adams Show'. 'He doesn't have to be like that, he's such a good dude and I have so much respect for him and I'll take any advice he gives me.' Sounds like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes have developed quite the relationship this offseason…👀 @heykayadams | @PatrickMahomes — Up & Adams (@UpAndAdamsShow) July 7, 2025 While he didn't go into specific details on any tactical advice he received, Mahomes explained how Brady urged him to continue being 'authentic'. 'He always talks about being yourself,' he continued about the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. 'Guys can spot when you're not authentic and you're not putting in the work. 'That's something that he did every single day. That's why guys respected him so much.' Mahomes has drawn frequent comparisons with Brady in recent years after inspiring Kansas City to three Super Bowl triumphs in the past six seasons. With him at quarterback, the Chiefs have only missed out on an appearance in football's end-of-season showpiece once since 2020. He still needs to win another four rings to match the New England Patriots legend's record tally, yet the man himself recently tipped him to go on and do so. When asked by comedian Kevin Hart which current quarterback could duplicate his success, Brady said last month: 'I just think Patrick - I love his mentality. 'The great players that I've played with, Patrick has their mentality. He has the will to win. He's got a desire every time he takes the field to be a great leader. 'I listen to what guys say after they win, I listen to what guys say after they lose. Everything he says is the right thing.' 'Having Tom, a guy like that say that, just motivates me even more,' Mahomes said to Adams about that praise from Brady.
