GEORGIA BEGINNING TO SURGE
Don't blink, but all of a sudden Georgia holds a spot inside the top 10 of the Rivals Team Rankings for 2026. The Dawgs have quietly caught fire over the last month, landing commitments from a string of blue-chippers, including five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.

Georgia isn't done either. The Bulldogs are in pole position for Rivals' No. 1 prospect OT Jackson Cantwell ahead of today's announcement. The Dawgs also have an edge with priority 2026 targets Jae Lamar, Mark Bowman, Kaiden Prothro and Khamari Brooks.

LSU, TEXAS A&M BATTLING FOR FIVE-STAR RECEIVER
Boobie Feaster is down to four contenders as official visits near and they loom particularly large for the five-star wide receiver as he sifts through his options and approaches his July 4 commitment date.
Of the finalists, LSU and Texas A&M are hovering at the top.

Feaster has family ties to Louisiana and was moved in a big way by his spring visits back to Baton Rouge. The Aggies have evened this race significantly over the past month, getting him on campus multiple times and moving the needle in their favor in a big way.
I shifted my Rivals FutureCast from LSU to Texas A&M earlier this month.

LONGHORNS STACKING BIG RECRUITING WINS IN LOUISIANA
It's difficult for rival SEC programs to come into Louisiana and procure talent. Nick Saban's Alabama program did it best, beating LSU for several notable recruits such as Dylan Moses, Cam Robinson, Landon Collins and Chris Allen.

No team has done it better the past few years, however, than Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns, who scooped up four-star cornerback Hayward Howard Jr. out of New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr last week.
Since Sark arrived in Austin, he's been able to successfully land blue-chippers year in and year out of Louisiana, beginning with five-star QB Arch Manning and continuing with Derek Williams, James Simon and Wardell Mack, among others. Add Howard to that continually growing list.

LSU, OKLAHOMA BATTLING OVER FOUR-STAR QUARTERBACK
Four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley is down to LSU and Oklahoma following Curtis' commitment last week. LSU and Oklahoma have been in the driver's seat with the touted blue-chip passer, who will make official visits to Norman and Baton Rouge on June 13 and 20 before locking in his college commitment.

The Sooners laid strong groundwork with Bentley, but the Tigers have closed the gap significantly this spring.

LSU, TEXAS A&M JOCKEYING FOR ELITE LINEMAN
Elite 2026 lineman Lamar Brown is set to come off the board on July 10. The No. 25 overall player in the Rivals250 is down to LSU, Miami, Florida State and Texas A&M, but this race has long been between the Aggies and Tigers.
If a decision were made today, it's hard not to like where LSU stands. However, the Aggies have been trending at the top with Brown on various occasions over the past 11 months, including three trips back to College Station this spring.
Official visits back to Aggieland and LSU in June loom incredibly large.

Nebraska football still pushing for top ranked class of 2027 tight end Ahmad Hudson

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are still in the mix for class of 2027 tight end Ahmad Hudson. The playmaker indicated that Nebraska, Florida, LSU, and Texas A&M have been recruiting him the hardest, according to Sam Spiegelman. Hudson is the No. 17 overall player in the 2027 class, the fourth overall player in the state of Louisiana, and the top tight end in the class per Rivals rankings. As a sophomore, he caught 41 passes for 718 yards and six touchdowns. He's also an accomplished basketball player, averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds per game last season. The Huskers first offered him a scholarship on January 30, and he visited Lincoln on June 6 for the Battle of the Boneyard tournament. It will certainly be interesting to see how this recruitment progresses. He is a dynamic athlete, standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 230 pounds. He would bring an immediate playmaker to the Nebraska offense and give future quarterbacks a dynamic target. LSU football locks in visit with four-star cornerback in class of 2027

2027 cornerback Ashton "Ace" Alston locked in an official visit to LSU during the fall, per a report from Rivals' Greg Smith. The four-star defensive back also has trips scheduled to Notre Dame and Missouri as part of his 2025 schedule. The visit to Baton Rouge will be his second following a stop in May. He made trips to Tennessee, Nebraska, and Notre Dame in June. Rivals' Industry Rankings puts Alston at No. 2 out of Ohio and No. 12 at his position. 247Sports puts him higher among all 2027 prospects, slotting him at No. 116 overall. He hails from Cincinnati, OH. It's too early to make a true prediction on where Alston will play college football, as he's only entering his junior year of high school. Early models list the Volunteers as the favorites, but a lot can change. With much of its attention on the 2026 recruiting class, LSU is yet to earn a commitment from any 2027 recruits. But as usual, Brian Kelly and LSU will expect to contend for a top-eight recruiting class.

Where LSU football's top 2027 recruiting target ranks in Rivals' latest rankings

LSU football target and Louisiana native Zyron Forstall cracked the top 10 of the Rivals300 rankings. The 2027 five-star edge checked in at No. 3 overall on the initial release. Rivals' Industry Rankings places him at No. 2 among defensive ends, trailing Ladamion Guyton. Forstall, who hails from New Orleans, transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, ahead of his junior season. The move makes him the state's top recruit. He played his first two seasons of high school football at Jesuit High School. The six-foot-three, 235-pounder already boasts plenty of Power Four offers. USC and LSU are currently the front-runners as he has taken unofficial visits to both. Under head coach Brian Kelly, the Tigers made a living by keeping the best homegrown talent in the state with its 2026 class. "Electric pass rusher who is already showing signs of dominance as a high school underclassman," wrote Rivals' Charles Power. Forstall separated himself from other prospects early on in his recruiting journey. Despite transferring to IMG, Forstall remains a Louisiana prospect. Losing him would be a big loss for Kelly and the staff.
