UFC main cards, 2025: 57-44-1
Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku preview
Blaydes (18-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) aims to rebound from an interim title challenge loss against Tom Aspinall last July. In the fight prior, "Razor" stopped Jailton Almeida in the second round with ground and pound, earning his fourth career Performance of the Night bonus. Throughout his entire career, Blaydes has never lost back-to-back fights. ... Kuniev (13-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut against one of the toughest tests in the division. After a first-round finish in his second appearance on Dana White's Contender Series in August, Kuniev gets an opportunity to prove himself under the UFC's bright lights.
Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku expert pick, prediction
Filling out the main card is a fight that the UFC has been trying to put together for some time now between Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev.

Despite Kuniev being brand new to the division, he's being matched up with one of the top-ranked perennial contenders in Blaydes.
Kuniev's best win is an overturned no-contest to Renan Ferreira, where the Sanda fighter showed some grappling chops from both positive and negative positions. That said, Kuniev will likely have a harder time getting that kind of game going against a fighter who can both match him in size and wrestling.
Blaydes has seemingly abandoned his wrestling faster than Daniel Plainview abandoned his son in recent years, but that doesn't change the fact that he's one of a literal handful of heavyweights who can actually wrestle, which counts for a lot.
I'm not picking this fight as confidently as I should be, but the pick is for Blaydes to stay safe and secure a win by unanimous decision.

Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku start time, how to watch

UFC 318 'Embedded,' No. 1: Gators like marshmallows. Also, hands. So, uh ...

The UFC is back in the bayou for the first time in more than 10 years for UFC 318, its eighth pay-per-view of the calendar year, and the popular "Embedded" fight week video series is here to document what's happening behind the scenes. UFC 318 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) takes place Saturday at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. In the headliner, Max Holloway (26-8 MMA, 22-8 UFC) will try to play spoiler against Louisiana local hero Dustin Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC), who will retire after the fight in front of his home fans. Poirier has two previous wins over Holloway in 2012 and 2019, making it a 13-year rivalry trilogy. The first episode of "Embedded" follows the headliners, as well as other featured fighters, while they get ready for fight week.

Max Holloway downplays Ilia Topuria's recent UFC run: 'They're not looking at the record'

Max Holloway thinks Ilia Topuria caught a slew of UFC legends with repeated perfect timing. Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) is on one of the most impressive three-fight stretches in recent memory after scoring knockouts of Alexander Volkanovski, Holloway, and most recently Charles Oliveira to claim the vacant lightweight title at UFC 317. Topuria handed Holloway (26-8 MMA, 22-8 UFC) the first knockout loss of his career in their featherweight title fight at UFC 308. However, Holloway explains why Topuria's recent run may be a product of timing. "It's just tough, right?" Holloway told CBS Sports. "Yeah, he beat the names, and you can't deny that. But then when you look, it just sucks with everything that's going on when you look at that Volk fight – Volk coming off what he did (in a knockout loss to Islam Makhachev). That's kind of crazy. But people just look at the name. They're not looking at the record. "They're just like, 'Oh, Alex was the champ,' and then me and then Charles. Charles was on a one-fight win streak. At the end of the day, they're just moments and they're just names. It is one of the greatest names, for sure, that he beat in history. But the man is doing what he's supposed to do. The UFC are lining people up for him, and he's just knocking them down. So, fair play to him." Holloway defends his BMF title in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC) in Saturday's UFC 318 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) headliner at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

After $50,000 birthday bonus at UFC Nashville, Fatima Kline sets sights on MSG

Fatima Kline met the media Saturday after her third-round TKO win over Melissa Martinez at UFC on ESPN 70. Kline (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) was the biggest favorite on the card against Martinez (8-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and kept after the finish until she ended things midway through the final round at UFC on ESPN 70 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., with a massive head kick. Advertisement To top things off, the finish came on the strawweight's 25th birthday – and came with a pretty solid present, too, in the form of her first $50,000 performance bonus. Kline said she wasn't content just riding out a decision win. "I think I heard two and a half minutes (left in the fight) – I knew that the round was coming to a close," Kline told after the win. "I knew I was better than that, to let it go to a decision. I don't want to be a decisioner. I want to be a finisher. "I felt like she was hesitating a lot and she was worried about my jab. … I knew if I faked the jab enough and set up that kick, that it was going to land – and that's exactly what happened." Kline, a 25-year-old former CFFC strawweight champion, said she wants to continue to take on stiff tests to climb into the rankings. Her win over Martinez had her as upwards of a 10-1 betting favorite heading into the fight. Advertisement After a loss to Jasmine Jasudavicius in her promotional debut a year ago to the weekend of her win over Martinez, she knocked out Victoria Dudakova earlier this year. With two wins and two finishes in a row, she's shooting her shot. "I want a top 15 (opponent). That's two dominant finishes in a row, so anybody in the top 15, I'll take," Kline said. "(Madison Square Garden in New York) is in November. That's my home state. I'm a New York native. I've always been there and I'll always stay. So I want MSG, I want top 15, and I want $50 grand for my birthday." Check out Kline's post-fight interview in the video below.
