KITAHIROSHIMA, Japan (Kyodo) -- Franmil Reyes hit one of Nippon Ham's three home runs to help pitcher Haruki Hosono pick up his first career win as the Fighters beat the Hiroshima Carp 5-0 on Saturday.
Reyes' two-run homer, his Pacific League-leading 14th of the season, pushed Nippon Ham's lead to 3-0 in the third inning of the interleague game at Es Con Field Hokkaido, just outside Sapporo.
Yuki Nomura also drove in two runs for the team managed by former New York Mets and San Francisco Giants outfielder Tsuyoshi Shinjo, with a homer in the second and a triple in the seventh.
Hosono (1-1) struck out eight and allowed only two hits over six innings. Hiroki Tokoda (6-5) took the loss.
Among the day's other games, the Seibu Lions edged the Chunichi Dragons 2-1, while the Yakult Swallows blanked the Lotte Marines 5-0.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Shohei Ohtani matched a franchise record with a homer in the fifth straight game and Freddie Freeman drove in two runs with a two-out single in the ninth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied to beat the Minnesota Twins 4-3 on Wednesday. Freeman hit a sinking liner to left field that eluded a diving Harrison Bader and scored Mookie Betts and Ohtani, setting off a wild celebration. Ohtani hit a solo homer to center in the first, his National League-leading 37th of the season. It marked the seventh time in Dodgers history that a player has homered in five consecutive games. Ohtani joins Max Muncy, Joc Pederson, Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, Shawn Green and Roy Campanella in that club. The Twins scored two runs in the eighth off the Dodgers bullpen, one day after scoring seven runs off Los Angeles' pen in a 10-7 victory. This time, the Dodgers got the better of the Twins bullpen. Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow was dominant, allowing three hits and one run with 12 strikeouts in seven innings. The right-hander was making his third start since returning from a shoulder injury. Minnesota's Chris Paddack had a strong outing, allowing four hits and one run in six innings with eight strikeouts. Royce Lewis, an native of Orange County, California, tied the game at 1 with a solo home run off Glasnow in the third inning. He added a double in the fifth and a walk in the two-run eighth, finishing 2 for 2. Tommy Edman lined a run-scoring, bases-loaded single to right field in the seventh to score Freeman, giving the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. Dodgers reliever Kirby Yates opened the eighth by walking the first three batters he faced. Alex Vesia entered and got Willi Castro to hit into a double play, scoring one run, and pinch-hitter Bader knocked in another run with an infield single.

OSAKA (Kyodo) -- The Orix Buffaloes' Yuma Tongu and Kenya Wakatsuki homered at their home stadium as the Pacific League beat the Central League 5-1 in Game 1 of Nippon Professional Baseball's two-game All-Star series Wednesday. Tongu was named the game's MVP for his three-run shot to left field that pushed the PL's lead to 4-0 in the third inning. Wakatsuki added a solo blast in the seventh at Kyocera Dome Osaka. Hiroya Miyagi, also a Buffaloe, started on the mound and threw two scoreless innings. The PL finished with nine hits. Yuki Okabayashi of the Chunichi Dragons had two of the CL's five hits. The series moves to Yokohama Stadium for Game 2 on Thursday.

LOS ANGELES (Kyodo) -- Shohei Ohtani homered for the fourth straight game in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 10-7 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday, making him the first Japanese player to hit a home run in four consecutive MLB games. Ohtani launched his 36th home run of the season to left field with one runner on in the ninth inning at Dodger Stadium, tying him for the National League lead with Eugenio Suarez of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The three-time MVP, however, was hitless in his previous four at-bats, striking out twice. The NL West-leading Dodgers have lost 11 of the last 14 games. Japanese teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto started on the mound and got a no-decision after allowing three runs, one earned, and five hits in five innings. The right-hander struck out eight and walked one. The game was tied at 3 after five innings. The Twins extended their lead by scoring three runs each in the sixth and seventh innings. Christian Vazquez went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Minnesota offense.
